Ch.53 - Visiting the Mansion pt.3
While the kids were suffering in the tedium and spirit crushing boredom of a government run education system, I spent my morning in rather intense discussions regarding Xavier's X-Men and their training.
The main issues, for him anyway, were to help Scott Summers gain control of his abilities and to help them all grow in terms of power and skill.
Not having a Phoenix Force hosting Jean with psychic locked powers in this timeline, Madelyne Pryor was his favored pupil in terms of psionic abilities, being a powerful telepath and telekinetic which could have rivaled Jean in term of power. The girl had control issues over her telekinesis, mainly because Charles wasn't a telekinetic, but her telepathic abilities were well developed even if I knew she constantly used them to try and seduce and control others to be the center of attention.
I actually think the girl might subconsciously know she's a clone of someone deemed 'better' and tries to fill that hole with the attention and affection of others. It'll backfire at one point, but I have little care unless she does something drastic.
If Charles can't notice the slippery slope he's allowing his student to go down, then who was I to stop her?
Scott was his second favorite simply due to how much the boy believes in *Cough* brown noses *Cough* Xavier, being a fanatic that he groomed to be the leader of his X-Men. The boy had this 'woe is me, why hath heaven forsaken me' view of his powers when literally the only thing stopping him from gaining control is his mentality in regards to them. The longer he bemoans his 'cursed' powers, the less likely he will be able to control them.
It's just a connection to an energy realm channeled through his eyes, not like he become something the ex-Morlocks would have taken in.
I brought up my analysis of the boy-scout to Xavier, in a professional manner, clearly stating his control issues with his powers were obviously leaking into a need to control his environnement instead, something likely amplified by being given a leadership position. It wasn't a pleasant thing to bring up due to Charles' belief in the boy, but at least it was out there.
As for the rest, it was relatively straightforward.
Warren being a good second-in-command at the moment, needed protective and support equipment as well as some serious combat training to take advantage of his wings and to compensate for when they just weren't useful. The Falcon could do a lot and he was a guy with a winged jet pack, so why couldn't he?
Kurt was mostly in the same boat, but he also needed to gain a better understanding of his teleportation ability. The teen travels through a separate dimension and this would easily allow him to get anywhere which wasn't protected against such if he learnt how to sense his destinations through his powers instead of relying on sight.
Evan needed to be more creative with his powers. He wasn't just limited to shooting spikes at others but could also grow sub-dermic armor, produce close range weapons, likely even things like lock picks and field tools. Martial training to take advantage of his abilities was also a must, but the kid just didn't have the right mentality for it all.
As for Bobby, well he needed to expand his mind regarding his perceived limits. If he could turn completely into ice or snow, that meant he should at least have similar potential to others who could elementize themselves, usually meaning control over said elements and it subsets once understood deeply enough.
This kind of power is why someone like Magneto could become so strong. He honed his control over Magnetism it an incredibly versatile ability and branched out to achieve more and more.
Charles was skeptic, but chose a wait-and-see approach.
And lastly came Kitty. Honestly speaking, her ability was almost more on a conceptual level. I knew she could possibly phase a whole planet, once her cosmic potential had been unlocked and it allowed her to phase into other planes and dimensions, the girl could even turn things tangible like air and water, so I thought she had the greatest potential beside Bobby. And if she could go through espionage and specialized martial training, she could become one of the deadliest special agents in the world.
As for the adults, well I simply skipped over Charles beyond my offer to try and allow him to walk again, something he was tempted by and stated he would think it over.
Logan knew far too well of his strengths and weaknesses already. Being a master martial artist, even if he couldn't actually remember most of it, having Adamantium bones, one of the greatest healing factors in existence and enhanced senses packed into a body as experienced as his will certainly allow one to be polished. I did suggest making some equipment to blunt his senses so enemies won't be able to incapacitate him using them and a magnetic field scrambler to protect him from traps or attacks aimed at his metal skeleton, both things Xavier did agree would be splendid ideas.
Finally there was Ororo, the Weather Goddess.
Honestly, her understanding of the weather and the careful balance needed to be maintained when using her control over it were natural limiters i fully agreed with. She could overcome these limitations by using magic, but that would come later.
The true issues she currently faces are her claustrophobia and her inability to separate her powers from her emotions, or at least turn off or numb the connection between the two. She needed help in consciously forming a 'switch' in her own mind to help free herself from needing constant control. Sure I could do it, but that would be a crutch. Her claustrophobia needed careful handling as well, and I was embarrassed that renowned psychologist like Xavier hadn't managed to help her yet.
And while I was thinking about such matters, I found myself in a rather baffling situation.
After a quick lunch, served by Yuri to all present's pleasure, I was invited to have some tea in the Greenhouse by Ororo. She wanted to discuss what I had mentioned to her in regards to the Earth Mother and Mother Magic, as well as what her admittedly odd features for a woman of African and American descent.
The reason I found the situation baffling was that well... I had forgotten that the woman was actually a nudist by most standards and that Jean was usually the one who convinces to properly wear clothing. Luckily Kitty had apparently done at least some of that, but it looks like her time in Africa truly has stuck to her.
Psychologically I understood it well. Many tribes don't actually see nudity as something to be ashamed of. Our own 'need' for clothes actually developed due to humanity spreading to areas with colder climates, necessitating clothings to not die or be more comfortable, resulting in the removal of clothing only being done in the 'home', hence it became a private thing which was only done in front of one's partner or family. For someone who grew up under a different mentality, we were the weird ones, especially with how Ororo's body adapted to climates automatically.
Didn't make her any less stunning to witness.
Incredibly full and perky breasts tipped with pale nipples, tight stomach with visible outline of abdominals, wide hips with full bouncing ass, and long, powerful legs moving with catlike grace. The well groomed white hair in the shape of a lightning bolt above her vagina was just extra eye candy as she prepared the tea.
'Truly the Earth Mother and Oshtur knew what they were doing with her.' I thought appreciatively as I also looked around the well kept greenhouse.
It had nothing on the ones back home, with magic and near magic level tech supporting them, but it was a nice and calming space.
And since she was going nude and I had nothing to feel ashamed of with my own body, I decided to follow her lead today.
It would be good to show I did not judge her and that we could speak as equals. Nothing equalizes people as much as being nude together.
"Well, young Kitten certainly was correct in stating that you were a hunk." She stated with her own amusement and clear appreciation over my own naked form.
Just like she was a beautiful symbol of female beauty and fertility, I was one of masculine power and of alpha dominance with my muscles being so incredibly compacted and polished that the seemed both pliable and diamond hard, while my cock and balls showed my own fertility.
"And you fit your description as a goddess perfectly." I returned the compliment, causing the older woman to flash a receptive smile, especially due to my willingness to strip.
It was all polite little banter as I did have perfect control of my mind and body, allowing me to enjoy this meeting without lustful thoughts clouding my mind. Still technically being a teenager was certainly something which needed a lot of control.
"Thank your highness." She responded as she placed a cup of green tea before me.
"Please call me Kai. Hard to be a royal when in the buff." I pleasantly offered as I took hold of the cup and took a sip.
'Calming and warm. Filled with a sense of freedom and nature.' I noted as I experienced her touch in the brew.
"Excellent tea." I complimented with a serene smile.
"You honor me. And if that is the case, please call me Ororo, or 'Ro as young Kitten is fond of calling me." She humbly replied as she took a seat and a sip of her own tea.
"Now that would be a true honor." I decided to lightly flirt for fun, causing her to softly laugh and wind to pick up slightly before she returned to a centered state. "If you would like, I can offer a limiting tool to allow you to let loose."
"You have such a thing?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes. It's mostly for young mutants who simply don't have control of their abilities yet. It protects them and others while they learn and can be useful to help them relax without fear when they are in the process of learning." I explained as I took out a stylish pair of golden hoop earrings. "Earrings are the best for those whose minds are where their powers really manifest or are centered.
Not that I'm saying you do not have control of your abilities, just that this can allow you to let your hair down."
I could see some temptation, but it wasn't much. She was a confident woman used to her powers, as such something like this was more of a shackle than key.
"I appreciate the gesture, but I think I will stay as I am for now." Ororo carefully said.
"Understood. Regardless, the offer will stand." I replied understanding that she had her own pride in herself and closeness to her abilities. "Besides, it is much more gratifying to have students learn how to fully control their powers and help them push beyond what they knew."
"That it is. And speaking of such, I would like to discuss my own with you. You certainly have aroused my curiosity earlier, speaking as if you knew a great deal about myself." She stated as she crossed her legs and arms, awaiting an answer as she looked at me akin to prey.
"*Chuckle* What an impatient goddess. I did say you should talk to Wanda and Meggan. Those two would have loved to discuss these matters with you." I nonchalantly said as I took another sip of my tea.
"A lioness must know when to strike. And I much prefer hunting... larger prey." Ororo almost purred while licking her full lips as her eyes lit up.
'Lioness indeed.' I internally thought.
"Very well. What do you know of your ancestry?" I asked her to begin at the beginning.
"I know of my status as what would be considered a royal line in Kenya and my descent from a long line of priestesses worshipping the Earth Mother." She answered openly. "I myself have kept the traditional worship alive."
"Not a bad start." I pondered with a nod. "But not even close to everything I know of your line."
"You are an educator, so educate me." The curious lioness requested as she leaned forward, being mildly distracting as she pressed her chest forward, smirking teasingly as a result of my peeking.
"First we need to start with the fact that magic, as we understand the word, is real and that many powerful entities such as gods and demons are as well." I dropped the first bomb, causing to now look at me with wide eyes.
"So when you called me the Earth Mother's Avatar...?" She began with a whisper.
"I meant every word because I have long been in contact with Lady Gaea and have made bargains with her while she has somewhat taken in Meggan and my adopted daughter Krakoa under her wing." I revealed, causing many emotions to clash within her, showcased by the shifting winds, clouds and the small bursts of rain.
"You've met the Earth Mother." The African beauty softly spoke in wonder as she looked at me.
Being a true believer and worshipper, to be in her presence would be considered a huge honor and a dream come true. Especially for someone so closely linked to the Earth.
"Why would she speak to you?" She asked with some suspicion. "And what bargains have you struck?"
"Part of it is because of how I kicked out all demons from Japan and then proceeded to channel a lot of energy into her, the other is because i have been healing a lot of the damages humans have been causing as well. Both have allowed her to regain quite a bit of the power she once held." I answered easily enough. "As for my bargain, I needed her aid in some endeavors and in exchange she made me promise to aid you twice in times of need and help you reach your true potential."
"She wanted you to help... me?" Ororo repeated to herself in wonder and disbelief.
"Gaea does care for you Ororo, it's just that because of various reasons she can't interfere much. Even with our meetings, I had to essentially create a special pocket dimension partially fused into ours using a Ley Line and her Blessed Tree to allow that much. Do not take her lack of interference as her not caring for you." I softly told the woman as she processed these revelations.
"Would... Do you think she would meet me?" She carefully asked with upturned eyes looking more uncertain than I could imagine.
"She would be thrilled to." I answered with a soft smile and great sincerity.
As much as the Goddess wanted respect, she also deeply loved humanity, especially her Avatar and people like Meggan and now Krakoa. Those so close to her domain were like her favored children, including her actual child: Thor.
After a few moments of elation and youthful daydreaming, she managed to calm herself and get back on topic however.
"*Ahem* I do apologize for going off tangent, please continue." She tried to say as composed as possible, but my knowing grin couldn't stop her from blushing which was adorable.
"Sure. Anyway, back before the currently known latest records of human history, in the Hyborian Age of over 17'000 BCE, Oshtur, ancestral goddess of the mystic arts and one of the few remaining siblings of Gaea, blessed your ancestor during the dawn of Atlantis, gifting her white hair, blue eyes and great magical potential which would be passed down through the generations." I revealed, causing the weather to once again grow turbulent at the sheer shock of these revelations.
"Atlantis was real!? And the Earth Mother has a sister!?" The dumbfounded woman questioned loudly.
"Technically Atlantis is still real, just underwater after it was sunk. Still inhabited by merpeople too." I replied casually as I did enjoy breaking her controlled demeanor. "As for Lady Gaea's siblings, only a few survived a sort of culling such as Set and Chthon, two Gods one might as well call Demons instead."
"Merpeople?" She then asked with some difficulty.
"When the sinking happened, Atlantian mystics casted a great alchemical spell to transform those they could into beings who could survive it, resulting in them gaining gills, webbed limbs, aquatic features, blue skin and a plethora of abilities to survive the depths of the ocean." I explained as I brought up some images of such, causing her to numbly nod. "Anyway, that is the earliest record of your line as it persisted until around 10'000 years BCE, when Ayesha of Balobedu was born."
"What happened to her?" The curious Ororo asked as it was obvious her lineage kept going as she was here.
"She became something more than just someone with potential. She became the Earth's Sorceress Supreme. It's greatest guardian and protector against mystic threats which have plagued humanity for eons, the first even having been Oshtur's son, Agamotto, who ascended to godhood and formed the Vishanti, a powerful trinity of mystic gods including his mother and a god named Hoggoth." I answered dramatically as I gained her rapt attention. "She protected the world for over four millennia according to the extensive records i possess and at Kamar Taj, the home of the order lead by the current Sorceress Supreme."
"By the goddess! Truly? My ancestor did that?" A blown away Ororo asked with some hint of pride and admiration towards the woman.
"Indeed." I confirmed. "And she wasn't the only one to gain such a title in your lineage. The next would be Ashake, a priestess of Oshtur's persona in ancient Egypt, Ma'at. She became Sorceress Supreme of her era and even created quite a few important artifacts and spells related to time and space.
And so your line continued until you were born with a the genetic trait which classifies you as a mutant, causing Lady Gaea to choose you as her Avatar due to your lineage, the fact that many of your ancestors worshipped her or her sister, and likely because your original powers would have been closely tied to her as well."
Allowing Ororo to digest everything I had said, I enjoyed the tea in tranquility.
"That... that was a lot to take in Kai. Do you have proof of all this?" She asked as the woman wasn't just going to take my word for it.
"I do." I confirmed. "Lady Gaea can confirm my words, and so can my governess, Agatha Harkness. She is an over 18'000 years old witch who taught Wanda and Meggan for quite a while. Her records and Kamar Taj's can confirm my words as well."
"How did you meet such a person?" She asked out of genuine curiosity.
"She said she took a liking to Governess work after the Salem Witch Trials, but since I knew about her general history and character, I hired her to aid me in teaching the girls before I managed to open my Academy." I shrugged with a casual smile. "She also said she was going to enjoy her retirement soon however."
"Huh. I do believe I would enjoy meeting such a person. The things she could know." Ororo commented after a moments thought.
"I'm sure she would enjoy that. She's spoken of your ancestors quite highly, although that might mean she could start nagging you to learn the mystique arts on sight as well." I chuckled at the image.
"Ah yes. I am no stranger to an elder's chastisement." She joined in the amusement. "But I do believe I will take you up on your offers to visit. An opportunity to met the Earth Mother alone would be worth the trip, but also to learn more about my ancestors and even myself amongst other mutants would be a great boon."
"My school will always welcome one such as you, Ororo." I gently replied with a smile which most women would swoon to, only resulting in a light blush and grateful one in return.
"Before we move on, do you know why your bodyguard wished to speak to Logan earlier? I was under the impression the woman would not leave your side easily." She changed the subject, choosing to discuss the two who had been shooting looks at each other all breakfast.
"Ah, that. Well, it would appear Yuriko has decided to test Logan." I answered with a wry smile.
"To test him?" She responded with scrunched brows. "Whatever for?"
"Because of his bones. Her family was the one who created the process to bind Adamantium to human bones before it was stolen and brought to the US." I informed her with a shake of my head.
"And she wishes to see if he is... 'worthy' in a sense." She understood with an enlightened nod.
-Outdoor Training Area
"So... gonna tell me why you smell like Adamantium?" Logan asked with narrowed eyes as he readied for the obvious fighting intent leaking out of the handsome Japanese woman standing before him.
"Because it is my birthright, unlike how your governments have stolen and used it on curs like yourself." She spat out with 10/10 glare.
"Look, I don't know anything about that. And even if I did, I never wanted any part it." The man sighed as he was rather used to his mysterious past coming to bite him in the ass.
He already had to deal with a maniac who liked to attack him on a yearly basis at least, he didn't want some Japanese broad doing it too.
"I know very well 'Logan'. But I will still judge to see if you are worthy of my family's efforts or if you truly are the cur you seem to have become after losing your past." Yuriko replied as she took a ready stance.
She fully understood that he wasn't the one who stole from her family or wanted to be subjugated to the excruciating process, but that doesn't mean she doesn't care that her family legacy was being used a man like him. He was supposed to be a warrior, trained in the arts of the bushido by one of Japan's most infamous martial artists in the past and capable of fighting through multiple wars, but all she saw was a broken man trying to drown out the remaining pieces of his old self through alcohol and cigars.
At least, he tried when he wasn't also recorded to hunt down any lead regarding his past he could, then usually leaving a trail of bodies in his wake.
"What do you know about my past?" He suddenly asked with a lot more seriousness.
"Fight and find out!" She yelled with a burst of speed which surprised him, forcing Logan to use his indestructible skull as a defense, trying to grapple the slimmer foe at the same time due to realizing she outclassed him in speed and likely agility.
His efforts were easily countered as Yuriko essentially slithered through his grappling attempt, climbed his body, vaulted him as she wrapped her arms around his neck, then used her momentum to choke slam him into the ground.
"That was pathetic. Fight me properly. I am a proud Samurai and I am not going to be looked down upon simply far having tits and no cock." Yuriko scolded the shorter Canadian who coughing lightly after having his throat crushed like that.
It healed in moments, but it still hurt like a bitch.
"Look lady, you don't want to do this. You just won't win against someone like me.
I can just outlast you, even before I got coated and made hitting me painful." He gruffly tried to keep matters peacefully as he believed that only one other person had his healing factor.
"Now that's where you are wrong." Yuriko replied allowing her nail to grow before cutting an incredibly fast healing line on her forearm, causing the Wolverine's eyes to widen. "But this isn't about outlasting you, Logan, this is about testing your skills as a warrior."
Understanding that the woman was trained, could heal similarly to him, and apparently had Adamantium nails, Logan decided that he might as well fight.
Not like this was a death match or anything, and it's not like he wouldn't mind a proper fight after spending a lot of his time teaching the punks and brats around him.
"You know what? Fine. Bring it." He growled with a pounce.
That resulted in getting his head buried into the dirt with a masterful redirection of force on Yuriko's part. The fact that Logan had a metal skeleton, hence weighed significantly more than most people his size and had a shorter reach than Yuriko certainly didn't help him.
"Is that it?" She sneered, holding herself back from striking his manhood as he unearthed himself. "You attacked like an animal. Fight me like a man."
Grrr*
Learning that lesson, he lunged forward with a powerful straight punch which was diverted but he kept his stance and hadn't overcommitted this time allowing him to block her backhanded knuckle strike to his face. Logan grabbed her wrist and shifted into a judo throw, but she struck a nerve in his shoulder before he could get into the swing of things, slipping out as she struck three more which force him to kick backwards, sending her away.
Shaking off the numbness he felt in his arm and shoulder, Yuriko charged this time, getting in close and sending out lightning fast spear hands which certainly made Logan grunt when they got through, beginning a rapid exchange of blows and blocks the woman had a clear advantage in simply due to being much faster and somehow stronger to his surprise.
Doing his best to keep up, Logan didn't notice that his own body was progressively using sharper and much better strikes and blocks. His stances become stabler and more flexible. Fighting style more efficient to to make up for his lacking physical attributes. It wasn't until flashes of memories relating to martial arts and hand-to-hand combat did he realize that things felt different and he could keep up more.
"Finally, you fight like a warrior!" Yuriko smirked before her expression turned savage. "Now let us fight beyond their limits!"
With her words she seemed to explode with power as he fist slammed into his block and sent Logan flying.
"*Groan* What... the hell? I thought you were like me?" He groaned as he stood up a bit shakily from the impact that had on his internal organs.
"I am. The only issue is, I've surpassed the traditional limits of martial arts by tapping into my Ki." Yuriko casually answered as she stalked her way closer.
"Ki?" Logan questioned as the doubles he had been seeing from that one blow refocused.
"Ki, Chi, Life Force, Bio Electricity, whatever name you want to give it. It is a power every human, and likely any living being, has access to if they know how to harness it properly." She explained as her hand glowed with a warm golden light. "And fun fact about people with regenerative factors like us... we produce a lot of it."
Bam!*
"Gaah!" With another cry, Logan was sent flying again, this time from a punch he could barely see coming and one to the face causing his head to ring like a bell on the inside due to a metal fist hitting his metal skull.
"So satisfying." Yuriko sighed pleasantly at the almost unconscious Logan.
She knew how to bring down people like herself. Her master and lord had long ago figured out how to capture or kill people like herself simply because he knew governments would desperately want to create 'super soldiers' with regenerative factors like she, Logan or Victor Creed held, teaching her his methods of doing so.
One of them was to use her ki at a certain frequency which allowed her to completely disrupt the life force of another being, shutting down pretty much all bodily functions with lengths depending on how much Ki she pumped into them. Another was to punch their Astral Selves out of their bodies, but she didn't have those gloves on to do so right now.
It took the poor man 5 minutes to recover from the blow which she had restricted to not knock him out cold.
"Fuck. Don't fucking do that again. Felt like I actually got hungover." He groused as he got up.
"Fine. I got what I needed from you regardless." She agreed easily. "Your mind might be broken, but at least your body remembers properly, so for now I will approve of you keeping your Adamantium."
"Heh. You make it sound like you could take it away." He jokingly commented, receiving a challenging eyebrow raise. "You can?"
"Not I. My lord on the other hand, easily." She revealed with absolute certainty.
"Well tell the kid to not spread that around." The Canadian said as he dusted himself off.
He felt surprisingly good for having his bell rung like that. Mostly because of those memories and how liberated his body felt at the moment, like it was back to how it was supposed to be or close to it.
"He already knows. You are far too easy to lure into traps to allow such knowledge to be spread." Yuriko casually dissed before turning around. "Now come, I said I would speak about your past if your earned it."
Wanting to call her out on her clearly low impression of him, according to his own opinion anyway, he decided to let it go due to wanting to know more about his past.
"So what do you have?" He grunted, not really getting his hopes up.
"For one, your name hasn't always been Logan, it was James Howlett. Logan was more of a nickname. That was the case when you were in Japan after the First World War and married according to our files, but after the death of said wife, a series of conflicts occurred and you were forced to leave the country." She begun to explain the story her and her lord had managed to piece together regarding Logan. "By the time World War Two was brewing, you had returned to Canada, your birth land, and joined the army again.
We also have evidence you had done so in multiple wars in the past alongside a Victor Creed."
"What!?" He harshly questioned as he barely stopped himself from popping out his claws.
"That is what the reports suggested. It seemed that before whatever turned you two into enemies after the war, your similar powers and your status as half-brothers kept you together in most cases." She coldly answered as the man was thrown for a loop at that revelation. "During the war, you served admirably, joining Captain America's Howling Commandos in their efforts to defeat Hydra, then seemed to vanish after it all ended.
We assumed you returned to Canada, and at some point you were taken into the Weapon X program. They coated you entire skeleton with Adamantium, scrambled your brain and memories in a effort to turn you into a living weapon, you rebelled, killed everyone in the facility, escaped, but then a report was stated that an Adamantium round was shot through your skull, with that likely to be the final straw which shattered your fragile mind."
"How the hell would you know all that?" The wild mutant question suspiciously.
"Because I personally hunted down many of those who use my family's work for their selfish gains, which included information on those administering and receiving it. The rest was found through hunting various historical archives for your name and description using our computing systems." She easily answered. "It's not really that hard if you know where to look. You do stand out, especially your hair."
Not really knowing how to respond to that, Logan could only shut his mouth to stop any crass retorts, focusing on trying to get more instead as they walked back to the mansion.
The kids would later find the two holes created during that little spar and earn harsh training as a result of teasing the Canadian when it was revealed just how they were made, but that's for another time.
Author Notes:
So while kids are away, Kai and Yuriko get to mindblow two X-Men on their own.
Now hear me out, from what I found out Storm was actually quite the nudist before Jean became her close friend and managed to tame does urges, so without her I would say she would be less acclimatized to wearing clothes around others in 'safe' places like her greenhouse.
Also, I'm not talking out of my ass in regards to one of the reasons we now see wearing cloths as the norm and being naked as mostly weird. Plenty of tribes in Africa, South America, Australia and equatorial islands wore little to no clothes because they never had to until Colonization occurred and certain standards and beliefs were imposed on others. There are still a number of tribes that just don't wear cloths and we even have nudist colonies and beaches, so a naked tea party isn't out there and I did my best to not make it overtly sexual.
As for what Kai said, all straight up facts regarding Ororo's lineage for those who didn't know. She has two known Sorceress Supremes, likely a bunch of other powerful magic users, blessings of the literal elder goddess of magic, and is the Avatar of a second one. The woman literally was a Sorceress Supreme herself in at least one reality because she taught Illyana Rasputin, Magik the damn ruler and Sorceress Supreme of Limbo, White Magic.
Storm could be like three time the boss bitch she currently is with magic to support her.
Don't want to damage the Earth using your full powers? Let's go to the mirror dimension for a second. Physical and mental aspects of your powers limiting you? Find the right spells, enchantments and artifacts, then go wreck shit up nonstop.
And yes, Kai is subtly using her ancestry, something she actually knows little about due to her mother dying when she was so young, leaving her on the streets in Africa, and she is a genuine worshipper of Gaea. So having the opportunity to meet the second and possibly connect to the first through magic and history, that would be pretty tempting, especially since one of, if not the, main reason she joined Xavier was to understand her powers better.
As for Logan, that was just for some fun because as much as everyone says he's a master martial artist, he sure does never freaking fight like one.
All the guy does is jump around like an animal and rely on his healing and skeleton, rarely using the samurai or shinobi skills he really should take advantage of more often in fights. Even when tracking others it's mostly using his enhanced senses too.
So I thought having Yuriko who was very strictly taught to not rely on her gifted abilities and fully combine them with her skills instead beating him like a child would be funny.
Just imagine someone finally causing the pouncing ass to face plant just makes me chuckle.
He might be insanely popular, but there are just so many ways to defeat people like him when looking at things beyond simply punching, shooting, cutting and blasting them in various ways. In this case, I made one up.
