Gally stared intently at the glowing screen. Her right hand
systematically moved a mouse around, clicking it occasionally.
She paused for a moment, and her brow furrowed. Closing her
eyes, she held her breath and clicked randomly. She opened
one eye and peeked at the results. Her shoulders slumped, and
she sighed in relief. A head complete with hanging hair
appeared between her and the screen.
"Whatcha doing?" Koyomi asked brightly.
"Yahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Gally screamed and fell backwards over her
chair. Quickly, she scrambled to her feet, set the chair
upright, and sat down again.
Koyomi slid to the left of the railing she was leaning over
and watched as Gally clicked the mouse. A blue one appeared
in the place of one of the empty gray boxes. The rest of the
boxes had other numbers, flags, or were blank as well.
"I'm playing a game," Gally muttered.
Koyomi was silent for a moment. "Looks boring." She flipped
over the railing and walked off. Gally clicked another box.
The door to the room slammed open.
"Gally!" Strong arms gathered her in a hug from behind.
"Figure! I'm in the middle of something!" Gally struggled
to get her hand back on the mouse.
"Aren't you happy to see me? I've been out of town for four
days!" Figure Four looked down at Gally with puppy dog eyes.
"Oh no! My time!"
"Huh?" Figure looked at the screen. He raised his eyebrows.
"Oh, that silly addiction of yours. Well, I think I know
better things you could do with your time." He smiled smugly.
Gally finally looked up at Figure Four.
"Oh yeah? Like what?" She stuck her tongue out at him.
Figure leaned down and kissed her. Gally's hand quit reaching
for the mouse and reached for Figure instead. The timer on the
screen continued to tick, the yellow happy face at the top of
the window gazing unblinkingly out at the room.
