This story is set after the interviews with Caesar Flickerman in Catching fire. Snow has delayed the games so that the capital can get a little more fun out of Katniss and Peeta's relationship and can meet the baby that Snow knows is not there.

We might call ourselves civilized, but deep inside, we're nothing more than beasts. Anyone who enters will have to make the choice between leaving with their life or their humanity. Mrs. Snow was married to her husband for more years than her fingers could count and Mr. Heavensbee had great plans laid out for the nation that would get him removed from the precious thing called 'life' if found out. Somehow, both collide at an evening dinner, share a few interests, and repeatedly have to remind themselves that they shouldn't be that foolish.

"We all wear masks, and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing some of our own skin." Five years have passed since the last Hunger Games. As Panem teeters on the edge of inescapable chaos, there is one final solution to turn to: bring back the Games. Will twenty three lives be enough to bring peace to Panem? There are always those that are burdened with memories. They can never forget those that are gone. But even if they aren't ready, the cycle is about to start all over again. The 124th Hunger Games is just around the corner, and there's no telling what that could mean for Panem.
