Jyou stared out across the ocean. What had he done to be alone that day? What had he done to
become the lonely boy he was? Why did he suffer so? But most of all, why didn't she love him?
She was the only one in the group who had ever used any caution besides him. Her calm, gentle
manner had contrasted so nicely with his own nervous attitude. They were perfect for each
other. There was only one problem. She didn't love him. She would probably never love him. "I
never get what I want," Jyou sighed.
"Is there anything wrong, Jyou?" A sweet, caring voice asked.
"No, why would there be anything wrong?"
Sora laughed as she sat down next to him, "Do you really think I could spend who knows how long
in the Digiworld with you and not know when you're feeling down?"
"I guess I underestimated you," Jyou said quietly.
Sora studied his face, "Is it something you want to talk about?"
Jyou tossed this idea over in his head. He finally decided to give it a try. After all, she was
the holder of the crest of love, "Well, Sora, there's this girl I like. Our personalities fit
together perfectly and we're already good friends. I want to become more than friends, but I
think, actually I know, she doesn't feel the same way about me."
Sora glanced away, "Jyou, are you certain this girl doesn't feel the same way about you?"
"Yes, well, I don't know. I don't see how anyone could like me."
"Tell her, Jyou. I'm sure she'll appreiciate to know your feelings," Sora advised.
Jyou nodded and continued to gaze over the ocean. The water was beginning to turn red, as the
sun began to set. Jyou smiled, "Isn't the sunset beautiful?"
Sora grinned, "I always love red sunsets. It reminds me of love. The sun is a wonderful thing,
just like love, but if you don't seize the love, it leaves and you lost your chance. Then
again, if you do seize the love, it can become a beautiful sunset, such as this." She glanced
at Jyou, "Well, Jyou, will you seize the sunset?"
Jyou turned to her, "I think you already know the answer, Sora."
She blushed, "I hope I do, but say it, so I can be certain, so I know this isn't just a dream."
Jyou clasped her small hands in his larger ones, "Sora Takenouchi, I love you."
"I love you too, Jyou Kido," with that, the two digidestined kissed.
************
"Remember when we were on this beach, how many, six years ago?" Jyou asked.
Sora grinned, "You were so flustered."
"I was not!"
"You were too, Jyou Kido."
"Like you weren't, Sora Kido," Jyou caught his wife and swung her around. "That's when we had
our first kiss."
"I'm not sure I remember. Could you refresh my memory?" Sora put an arm around Jyou's waist,
and drew him to her. The couple kissed, silouhetted against the red sunset.
