Summary: a war between the horde and the federation is resumed true Picard'pov.

It was not the first time that we underestimated an enemy, we made that stupid and dangerous mistake many times, but never with half the consequences we suffered in the horrible Horde wars.
When we first met them 5 years ago, just after the return of Voyage to the alpha quadrant, we believed that they were just supersticious, primitive barbarians, we were dead wrong.
I remember that Number one laughed at them when he learned that they still believe in magic and sorceresses.
He laughed even more when he learned that 400 years ago they tried to take over a planet known as Eternia just to take over the control of a place caled Greyskull.
He laughed much less when one of our ships fired on a horde ship, that unexplained accident started a war between the federation and the horde.
We did not prepared seriously because we believed they would not have serious weapons.
Of course a few like me pointed out that they had modern starships and war robots centuries ago when they attacked Eternia, but in their arrogance Starfleet command did not listen even if i was the captain of the Enterprise.
So, of course our brash , arrogant officers were taken by surprise by the terrible weapons they encountered in battle during the first confrontation.
When we got over the surprise it was to late , the majority of the fleet was destroyed and they controled over twenty of our planets.
Strategists and tacticians once caled that lightning warfare, the germans used a doctrine similar to that of the horde to conquer most of europe .
The horde kept their ships in a huge concentratio and did not stop to help damaged ships, and dashed straight at earth, crushing resistance everywere they stopped.
Thank god the offered peace when our allies reacted, but that was after they done tremendous damage and commited atrocities.
One day the Enterprise, the Defiant and voyager were ambushed and i was the only one that escaped when horde troops borded the ships.
I learned later on that they discovered that three of the officers they captured could be of use to them, it is rumoured that they somehow made Eszri Dax, 7of9, and counselor Troy help them.
Another rumour has it that tey were satisfied when they learned that al of Deana'people were telepathic they dicided to use al the betazoids.
These rumours caused me to worry about what they did to make such honnest people as Deana and the other two prisonners work for them, and how did they subjected the betazoids when tey took over Betazed Prime.
Rumours have it that devices caled slimepits were used, i don't know what are these things but i know that it got something to to do with mind control.
If the negotiations go well maybe i will know the answer, but until then i can only imagine the worst after al the horde has been known to do.
