What She Should Say
by Chelsea
"Sensai... mina...
- (translation: Teacher... everyone...)
- true.
- Well, Kikyo would probably count as an ancestor, being as everyone's always calling her my previous incarnation and all. And the reasons I'm missing school all revolve around the Shikon Jewel, and I guess you could say I inherited that from her.
- Mainly because we haven't told them anything.
- Unless a demon follows me to school or something...
- Obviously.
- Though I really wish he wouldn't pick such... such embarrassing illnesses. Most of them are only common in old people. Yeesh.
- Maybe it does?
- Yes, please don't talk to him about it. It'll only hurt his feelings if he knows I've been covering for him. Who knows what kind of things he'll say...
- I'll probably be in the "Warring States" period.
- Please don't ask me any questions. I really don't know what else to say...
I was just thinking... really, how long are people going to believe Kagome's missing school because she's suffering from every illness in the book? And some of them are rather serious and/or rare, and would require hospitalization. In other words, hospital records. If someone gets concerned, or even a bit curious, there's this wonderful invention called the telephone. A quick call to the
family doctor -who will undoubtedly say Kagome's in perfect health- and she's in deep do-do.
But if she says this first, everyone will think she has a genetic disorder and a senile grandfather. Now if she could only find a way to get Hojo to give her chocolates instead of sandals...
