Val sighed in contentment. The
night was perfect. Absolutely perfect.
It couldn't really be anything less, though. She was sitting next to Tyler Connell on the roof of Tyler Connell's house, soon to be watching the fireworks. And Tyler Connell's arm was around her waist.
How could it be anything less than perfect?
Sure, the rest of them were there- Caitie, Jamie, and Hank- but it was perfect.
The stars really are beautiful tonight, Tyler thought, Just like Val. He noticed her sigh. He figured that maybe she was a little bit cold, despite the 70-some degree July heat, even at 10 pm. So he pulled his arm a little tighter around her waist, scooting her a little bit closer to him.
Val noticed Tyler pull her a little closer, but hesitantly, and she silently encouraged his actions by snuggling up to him. She leaned her head on his shoulder.
Hank, sitting behind them, noticed his shy friends' actions and nudged Caitie, who looked, then in turn nudged Jamie. Jamie looked, then he nudged her back, and pretty soon they were flirting shamelessly, nudging each other and giggling.
Hank sighed and rolled his eyes,
and looked back towards the sky.
Jamie and Caitie finally quieted down, breathing somewhat hard. Caitie turned to look at Jamie, as Jamie turned to look at Caitie, and soon, each was looking at the other in a whole new light. They found themselves moving closer, and closer, and closer to each other and soon they were kissing on the lips, and the others ceased to exist. It was just Caitie, Jamie, the fireworks, and the stars.
"They're so beautiful," breathed Val.
"Just like you," said Tyler. Oops, he hadn't meant to say that.
"Really?"
A thousand suave, sophisticated, smooth, dashing answers ran through his mind. "Yes," he ended up saying simply. Then he kissed her, and she kissed back. And the fireworks went off in the background.
They all saw sparks that night- literally and/or figuratively.
THE END
Author's Note: Short, yes.
Pointless, yes. Late, yes. Bad- you tell me. REVIEW! I know this is short and
admittedly pointless, but I'm having problems with chapter fourteen and I
needed a quick sap fix. It's fluff. It's bad fluff. But it has J/C, which I can't
write. It has V/T, which I can write. I don't know where Brooke and Nick are,
nor do I care.
