"Would you like a flower?"
You turned at that moment and for an instant it seemed my heard would never beat again. You reached out to take the flower from my right hand, dropping some gil into my left. Your fingers ran over mine, in a hurried way that gave me the impression someone was after you.
Just like Sephiroth is after me.
Cloud... you're in front of me, your expression as lifeless as mine. The pain I'm feeling is unbearable, but you'll save me won't you?
Answer me Cloud, please. CLOUD! Will you save me? Save me from this death at the hands of Sephiroth! I beg you...
But you can't hear me... no-one can hear me. No-one sees me move... except for the faint, hurried rise and fall of my rib-cage. Don't let me fall away from you Cloud... don't.
I want to kiss you softly, gently, sweetly, yet with a force new to you... like the force overcoming me right now. Cloud, will you cry for me? I see your mouth move in vain, your thoughts crushed by the horror of what is before you... the dying flower girl.
Cry for me Cloud... cry for me and show me you feel about me the way I feel about you. Don't let me slip away without that satisfaction.
Cloud, can you hear me? I want to talk to you so badly... I just want to fall into your arms and talk about nothing, but it seems I am only falling away from you. Lean forward Cloud, please. I can't reach out to you... I cannot talk to you... I can only call to you desperately from my mind... yet I'm being overcome by death. I feel it...
I don't want this! CLOUD!!! Please hear me...
You're moving closer to me... Cloud... please save me. You're lifting me... slowly, gently... sweetly... can't you feel my movement? You've got to save me Cloud.
I want to cry out to you but I can't. It's useless. I feel so frustrated, so panicked, so lifeless, hopeless, dreamless.
Where are you taking me Cloud? I hear your footsteps and feel your slow, heavy movements... Hold me closer... please... hold me closer to you... save me from this death that is closing in on me, on my mind, on my body... on my existence... yet it will never reach my love for you.
I hear water... where are we Cloud? I'm scared. Are you going to leave me?
My clothes are getting heavier... yet my body feels lighter... what's happening to me? I'm wet... I'm in the water.
Cloud what are you doing? CLOUD?! Don't let go of me... have you lost hope? You can save me... you can save us... please don't let go of me.
No! You... you let me go... I'm... sinking.
Cloud, you heard me didn't you? You heard the panicked thoughts overcoming my mind and my soul. Didn't you? You know... I love you... don't you Cloud? You didn't save me... but I... love you... Cloud.
Author's Note: I thought up this story one night, and I just thought it would be a good idea to show a different side of Aeris, different from her usual serene expression.
