A fanfic Nuriko's point of view... AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH!!! *sniff* I hate people who kill
him... but why am I writing this fic? (^_~) hehehe I'm such a hypocrite. (^_^;)
My Last Words
by Ryu-chan
I felt weak with his claws buried at my back. I hate to see my Miko being devoured by
this beast. She's too precious to the others... and to me as well... and I'm not going to let
this beast eat her up. I leapt up, grabbed his neck and, with all my strength, tried to cut his
air supply until he dies.
I felt the power the bracelets gave me... maybe the power of Suzaku, but I doubt it. As I
squeezed his neck, the power it (bracelets) gave me killed Aishtare. He fell to the ground dead
as I fell to my sides feeling the pain of the wound he inflicted on me. I lay there not moving
because of it.
I felt that my work wasn't done. I looked up and saw the boulder still blocking the way
to the sacred jewel. "I have to move that." I said talking to the wind. I stood on my feet and
walk towards the entrance of the cave where the boulder stood as if to be a barrier for the
sacred jewel.
I grabbed the boulder and asked Suzaku to give me enough strength to move it. The
bracelets glow a bright red as I raised the boulder and still felt the pain at my back. I saw a
figure and tried to make it out. To my shock, I saw her... Kourin... coming towards me with wings
resembling those of a dove, only bigger. "When have you arrived sister?" I asked.
I dropped the boulder as I felt a cold hand touch my cheeks. "It's time Onee-chan" she
said, smiling. I smiled and fell down flat on my back on the crimson snow. "Yes" I whispered.

"NURIKO! DON'T DIE!" I heard a voice of a girl. "Mi-Miaka..." I stammered. "I won't die.
I would still protect you. Remember that." I said. I couldn't open my eyes anymore. It was like
hands keeping me from opening them. "No matter what happens, try to be strong." was the only
words I could think of telling her.
"What are you saying? It's like your going away already." She said. I just managed a
silent laugh. "You're still going to protect me, right?" she said, tears evident from her voice.
"Just stay strong, my Miko." I said.
"Brother..." I heard the voice of Kourin calling me. She stretched her arms toward me. I
took it and flew with her towards the light.

While Miaka went to find Mitsukake and the others, Tamahome stayed with Nuriko. He
suddenly felt that Nuriko's soul was gone. "NURIKO!" he said, tears rolling down his cheeks. His
tears fell to the closed fist of Nuriko and it opened, revealing a small piece of paper.
Tamahome reached for the paper and opened it. His tears wouldn't stop falling as he
reached for it and opened it. It read:
To my friends and Miko:
Now I think is the time to look back at all that we've been through, all of those fun
memories that kept the smiles on you and me. Now I think is the time to think about the laughters
and tears, which left us on a trial to overcome our fears. With nothing else to say, I'll end
this now and try to say the words I have to say, which is nonetheless but GOODBYE.
Author's Note: *sniff* I want to just say that even if this is MY story, I hate it because It's
so sad... and I love Nuriko. I didn't want him to die in the series... (;_;) Can you see the
tears? Hehehe (^_^) Please read and review!
