Title: Moving On
Author: Calen
Spoilers: After 'The Gift'
Summary: After the events of 'The Gift' everyone's trying to grive. Xander and Anya have each other, is it time to move on?
It had been two weeks since Buffy had died and the gang still hadn't come together to talk
about it nor anything else.
Xander had tried going to Willow to help himself through helping her deal with the pain.
But she had all but kicked him out of her dorm. She didn't want to talk, that much was
obvious, but whatever she was going through he had hoped they could get through it...together, as a group.
Tara had followed him out, telling him that she just needed time. He nodded sadly and left.
Giles was having a harder time of it. Dawn was know living with him and like Willow was pushing everyone away. But Giles knew it would take time and was being patient, while at the
same time trying to deal with his own grief. Another thing that was factor for worry was that Buffy and Dawn's father....would undoubtably find out what had happened eventually and might come for Dawn. But as he had told Xander, they'd deal with that if or when it came up.
Present Day.
Xander looked over to his sleeping fiance as they lay in bed. She was the one good thing in his life and would do anything to protect her. He had to decide whether Sunnydale was where he wanted to bring up a family....his family. He didn't want to make any rash descions, so he turned to other things....happier things. His wedding, smiling at the thought of it. Sure, he was scared. Not living up to expectations, being the ideal husband. But whatever the future brought them, they loved each other and though past experiences had proven that
sometimes that wasn't enough, he was deterined to prove them wrong this time.
Along this line of thinking, a thought suddenly came to mind. He had been saving as much
money as he could. And this was the perfect oppurtunity. He had just been promoted, again.
But he was sure Mr.Stevens, his boss (with some convincing) would give him a couple weeks
off. Smiling to himself, he leaned over and kissed Anya gently on her lips waking her as he did.
Opening her eyes she felt her lips curl into Xander's kiss. Pulling back he asked,
"Good sleep?"
"Yeah she answered," still feeling a little lazy.
"An...I was thinking. About our wedding...." Xander said and before he could finish she sat up hurridly and said,
"No! You're not having second thoughts are you...." Xander pulled her into a hug and laughed,
"Never. You're the one Anya. I'm yours. You're mine." Hearing this she realxed in his arms, them pulled back slightly to look up at him,
"Then what....?" she asked. Smiling, he said,
"I was just thinking about relocating it...maybe doing our honeymoon and wedding in one? I was thinking maybe the Carribean. We could have the ceremony on the beach...." he looked at
her not sure if she'd want to have their wedding on a beach...instead of an extravagent one.
Then seeing tears in her eyes he was about to say something, when she pulled him closer and
said softly,
"Yes..." then getting louder
"Yes...yes."
