I n e v e r k n e w . . .
titanium pastel velvet wings,
memories forgotten among other things.
disappeared swift like the spring breeze,
flashbacks of us just never do cease.
tints of violet in your eyes,
fire of passion that never dies.
the killing, war, was it your choice?
anguish and rage in your voice.
moonlight shone on ebony hair,
the flash of your sword without a care.
you swore revenge on those you hate,
twisted dreams that sealed my fate.
Saving my life, and other things,
I thought was your duty, to being king.
Even when held tight in your arms,
how you kept me away from harm.
I never noticed your jealousy,
when other men took interest in me.
Didn't see your loving gaze,
my mind was confused, in a haze.
Not until that pillar of light,
took me away from you that night.
I regret the times I never did see,
that Van Fanel was in love with me.
