I was never very good at poetry to begin with although I enjoy it but I could not help myself.

Grant me this time
only a final waking instant
Just this one moment
To treasure, to love, to cherish
Remember forever
My personal eternity
In this last golden moment
Oh, precious seconds.
Between life and death
To hold you with eyes when the strength of my hands fail
I whisper to you
As you release your dying breath
"I've loved you, thank you."
Just this last second, please.
