I looked up at the sky, and was rewarded with rain in my eyes. I let out something resembling a sigh. Of course it's still raining, I thought, it's been raining for days. It had been a week since they got Ricky while crossing a road and a little more than a month since Danielle dissapeared in the night. Much earlier had been the Yeerks taken our homes, and getting Ray. Since then we've been on the run, but we slowly were being caught. I was the only one left. I being Ericka. My friends and I had stumbled on a meeting of some club called the sharing. We were looking for Danielle's older brother to play a prank on him for telling our parents when we had snuck out late at night and spent the time making spooky noises and throwing rocks at his window. What we found though.. I don't want to think about it. It was horrible. We had two other people with us, and they didn't ever get away. And now it was just me, sitting under a tree in the forest, soaked, muddy, and hungry. God, what I wouldn't do for a hamburger.
