Charlotte and Colbourne's first meeting after the events of season two. Chapter 6 Colbourne's Pov: A chance meeting between Charlotte and Colbourne: "You stood before this woman begging her to end your pain once and for all. To finally make a choice. To pick you."

For many reasons, neither Georgiana nor Arthur are interested in a traditional marriage. Nevertheless, after much discussion, they come up with a possible solution to their problems. After all, they both know that there are far worse things that can happen to you than marrying your dearest friend.

This is my very first fan fiction attempt, please be kind. This two part series (right now) attempts to dive into Charlotte and Alexander's inner world. These parts delve into what their night might have looked like following their 1st kiss. I have always wondered what was going on "between the lines" for these two. This is my take. Hope you enjoy! Charlotte Heywood has a dilemma. She is engaged to Ralph Starling, but is in love with Alexander Colbourne who has broken her heart. She turns to friends for their wisdom to help her navigate the path her life is on and learns some life lessons along the way that will help her determine the life she chooses for herself.

A storm forces Charlotte to spend the night at the Colbourne estate. Takes place after the garden party, but before the ball. Colbourne has not explained and things are awkward between them.

Captain Carter cannot abide watching the object of his failed suit in the arms of another. The night of the Parker brothers' ball, he sees an opportunity for revenge.

Charlotte's brother gets accidentally left behind at the market. 'Day 2 of Summer of Whump 2022'

Charlotte and Alexander Colbourne are spending time together the day after their wedding. They have not left on their Honeymoon yet as they need to find a governess for Leo. However, Alexander has plans to surprise Charlotte on a romantic ride to a secluded area of his property where romance and intimacy ensue.

Rated T just in case. This is my imagining of the story of Alexander Colbourne and Charlotte Heywood after Season 2. This is my first story, so be kind and give constructive criticism. ( Edit: I can't thank everyone enough who is commenting and encouraging me. It has been a bit of a rough patch and writing is so soothing- having your enthusiasm and support is the cherry on top!)

Whenever Charlotte Heywood needs to sort her thoughts, she goes to the cove where she saw Sidney sea bathing. She feels his presence there, and it comforts her. On this day, she has come to honor his memory, and to say goodbye.
