AN/Disclaimer: The characters and places do not belong to me, they're property of J. K. Rowling / Warner Bros. / Scholastic. I only own the idea of this fic. I hope you can guess the pair it's about. It should be easy. And don't be mad at me, I just had to write something sad.
The Last Dance
by Luinthoron
It was our last dance. And then it was all over.
It started abruptly, violently. We hated each other passionately, and the passion lived on in our love. For three years we were a couple, the first years secretly, the last one in public. When they found out about us, they were shocked, but nobody would have believed how shocked we were when we discovered it.
We were fighting again. I had insulted Harry, she was defending him. And before we even knew, we were kissing. Two years of secret dates in dark classrooms and lonely walks on the grounds followed. We were maybe the best kept secret of Hogwarts. I still can't believe they didn't find out before this year.
It was all my fault. I was so happy to see her, I just ran to her and kissed her. Most of our friends looked either sick or ready to faint as she kissed me back. Now it was official. We had hard time explaining, but even her family accepted it after finding out about the previous two years. We still had our secret dates, but now we could be together even with our friends around. I started to become friends with her house, she discovered my house as her new friends.
But sometimes everything doesn't go the way we want. I still had my family with its expectations, as she had hers. And after the happiest year in my life, when the last ball for the graduating students came, it was the time to say goodbye.
She was my date for the last time. And somehow she seemed to know it. She looked better than she had ever looked before, but her eyes were sad. She said she was sad she had to stay here for another year, but I doubt it. She knew me too well.
I never said goodbye. We just danced. And we were happy that the music was so slow. The headmaster held a speech, but I didn't listen. The last dance came.
We danced. It was a slow waltz, perfect for us. We both wished this dance would never end.
But the end came. And with it came the end for us. I had to leave, I had to become what my destiny was to become. Her enemy again. A Death Eater like my father.
But I will always remember it.
The last dance.
