(This is in relation to my story 'Surprising Revelations,' yet another story taking place during the game dealing with Laguna and fatherhood. This isn't exactly accurate, but I'm too damn lazy to play the game up to that point all over again.)

Glimpse of Fatherhood
by Spirit Lovelorn

Laguna and other technicians who had been inspecting Adel's Tomb could hear the alarm sounding from inside the Lunar Base. He signaled to the others that they had to return immediately.

As they floated towards the entrance, a young woman in a space suit shot out through the entrance. Although finding it odd, Laguna chose to ignore her and head inside the Base. Once inside the Lunar Base, he noticed yet another person heading towards the entrance. The doors closed just as the person reached the entrance.

"Dammit!" Laguna heard him curse. This man turned around and started heading back.

Laguna was dragged into the hall just outside the locker room. He looked down the hall and wondered where Ellone was.

"Sir, we have to get on the escape pod," one man said in an urgent voice.

"No, you go ahead." Laguna's own voice was insistant. "I'll get off as soon as I can."

"Sir!"

"No."

"But-"

"No."

"You leave us no choice, then."

The two technicians grabbed Laguna around his arms and started dragging him away. Laguna struggled within their hold, trying to break free.

"No! Elle!" he cried as he broke away. He ran up the steps and collapsed at the feet of that man who had chased after the woman who broke out of the Lunar Base. He looked up through his own tinted helmet into the clear helmet of the stranger.

The young man had a serious face and a scar going down the left side of his nose. His chesnut brown hair was somewhat unkempt and messy. He couldn't have been more than eighteen at the most. The young man's eyes were deep blue.

Just like Raine's.

Laguna gasped as he realized that he was looking into the face of the son that Ellone told him of.

"Sir, you have to get on that escape pod." The two technicians grabbed him by the ankles and pulled him away. He still didn't know if Ellone was safe, but he knew, he just knew, that his son would protect her.

"Take care of Elle," he called to the young man before he gave up fighting the technicians. He had a feeling he could confront Squall later.

(Yea, more notes. I noticed in the CG cinemas that you could see Squall and Rinoa's faces in their helmets. However, if Laguna had a clear helmet, Squall would have known who he was. Believe it or not, but it was only after playing the game three times that I realized that [DUH!!!] Laguna was on the Base the same time as Squall. I'm really slow, aren't I?)
