I can not bring myself to say

Three simple words

That I fear



They die in my throat

Choked down by my fear

That I am unworthy

To say them to you



I hate my self

So I will not say them to you

Instead I say

I hate you



But I do not hate you

You are better than me

And I do not want to sully you

With myself



I won't stand it any longer

I say I hate you

But the opposite is true
