While decorating for the 80s-themed Junior-Senior Prom, Lainey reveals to CB that she's moving to Detroit to live with Barry for the summer. Sad that he won't see her for a few months, he plans a grand gesture to convince her to stay.

When a group of teachers decides to go line dancing at a local country western bar, Lainey declares herself CB's wing woman. She soon discovers that finding a potential mate for her best friend isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Lainey offers Claudia advice regarding an issue with her boyfriend, but CB overhears their conversation and doesn't approve. Despite his disapproval, CB helps Lainey convince Claudia otherwise before it's too late.

The William Penn College Fair has been C.B.'s event since the 90's. However, Jeff takes over this year and C.B. is not happy about it. Meanwhile, Emily and Lainey try to convince a promising young student to go to college.

After Wilma helps Lainey and her show choir put on a successful concert, Lainey's world is "rocked" by a realization.

Barry enlists CB's help in proposing to Lainey. Meanwhile, Lainey realizes her feelings for CB run much deeper than she previously thought.

At Rick and Julie's wedding reception, guests on the dance floor pair up for a couples dance, leaving CB and Lainey with no other choice than to dance together. While they dance, the two best friends realize there's something more between them.

Inspired by a Tumblr post from @cblikeslainey: After Lainey and CB start dating, he buys a shit ton of those school fundraiser Valentine's Day carnations and has them delivered to Lainey.

It's Thanksgiving and Coach Mellor's parade goes into action. The reporter covering the parade turns out to be Jeff's ex-girlfriend. Emily and Logan's grandmother visits for Thanksgiving. Jeff's mother also visits.

When Barry isn't able to make it to Jenkintown in time for Valentine's Day, CB surprises Lainey with a gift from the heart. He ends up getting more than he bargained for.
