Note: This poem was originally written for my English Literature class my senior year. It did pretty well, and I figured "hey this is a fanfic..." so I decided to go on ahead and put it up. The rhyme scheme seems strange, but the that's the style of the poem. It was inspired by the poem "Kubla Khan," in case you're wondering. I don't think it's that good, but I suppose there are some people out there that just might like it. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to email me at reannaking@masakishrine.com
"Kiss of the Mazoku"
In the comfort of solitude, under the cover of night
One evening, that mysterious priest came to me
With his knowledge of centuries and his grin of a child
O, ancient creature! O, darkness beyond twilight!
He held a staff, wore a cape and a catlike stare
His lackluster pupils matched his shining purple hair
With a wink of his eye, he giggled and smiled
He was a cryptic beast, like a wolf running wild
His cloak rippled in the wind, his eyes shone in the dark
I think he cast some bewitching spell upon my heart
He put his hand up; he waggled his index finger
His eyes swallowed me up like a midnight fog
He pulled me in close and drew me in like a wave
He kissed me deeply; his gloved hands held me still
Bells did not chime, thunder roared instead
Not a word was spoken, but nothing was left unsaid
I felt the darkness seeping in as we embraced
In the small of my back, his scepter glowed bloody red
Now I never grow old and I never die, just like him
His mission is accomplished; the deed had been done
I've an eternity of mischief and a forever of fun
I am a Mazoku! An astral demon of the monster race
I wondered why he had done it; I stated my query
He sniggered and gave me a smile endearingly cheery
He said nothing, but laid his finger aside of his nose
He leaned in close; I felt his breath on my neck
I didn't get an answer no matter how hard I seeked it;
Xelloss simply whispered into my ear, "That is a secret."
