*Alright, you should know this already, but just to let you know, I do not own "Escaflowne" or any of the characters mentioned in this story. Now that we've got that taken care of, please enjoy the story!
"It's a beautiful night." Hitomi said, gazing up at the stars. Van, the young king of Fanelia, shrugged. "What makes it so much nicer than other nights?" He asked, sounding almost bored. "Well", Hitomi began, "you're here with me, that's what makes it so special". Van's eyes widened slightly.
Hitomi smiled gently at him. "You never thought I would say that, did you?" she asked, pretending to sound offended. "Well, no." Van admitted, trying to avoid her glance. However, avoiding Hitomi was impossible. She stood next to Van, taking his hand gently in her's.
"Let's go for a walk." Hitomi said, looking at Van sweetly. He tried his hardest not to give in, but that too, was impossible. "Alright, there's a little park we can go to." Hitomi gripped his hand tighter, and began to run with him. Van couldn't help but laugh at Hitomi's adorable childishness.
When they reached the park, Hitomi spotted a small wishing well. "Van..what is that?" She asked, nearing closer. "It's a wishing well, they say that if you wish for something here, your dreams will come true." "We have those on Ear..I mean, the Mystic Moon, also." Hitomi said.
Hitomi leaned close to Van, whispering the words "Make a wish, Van." Into his ear. Silently, Van made his wish. As if she had heard his thoughts, Hitomi brushed her lips against his, giving him a passionate kiss. Van never thought that making wishes was a waste of time ever again.
