Matt Murdock's day turns from good to very much not when he wakes up in a warehouse, handcuffed to a chair. With no idea who is responsible he has to be patient before he can find a way to free himself. At least he's not alone.

Frank hated rookies. Everyone knew he hated rookies, which is why he'd been assigned as their handler - as punishment. What he didn't hate was their M.E., and yeah, perhaps he spent a little more time with him than necessary, but that didn't mean anything, right?

In "Nelson v. Murdock," Matt tells Foggy about the first time he put on the mask, when he went after a man who was sexually abusing his young daughter. But Matt didn't tell Foggy the whole story. This is the rest of the story. It contains a depiction of domestic violence and mentions but does not depict child sexual abuse. Pre-Daredevil season one.

The story takes place a couple of years after the events of the third season of the series. Not much has happened ever since, except for usual street crimes; but the calmness ends with the occurrence of some bizarre events. Matt Murdock has to fight new powerful enemies, and makes alliance with another hero, one that hasn't interacted much with him in the comics.

Matt's most life-changing moments have always been made up of helplessness. And Matt will do anything in his power to never feel that sense of helplessness again. To make sure no one else ever does either. Even if fighting against that feeling of helplessness, is what will destroy him in the end. (Or: A Character Study of The Man Without Fear)
