When the Night of the Hunt finally seems to have an end in sight, the Good Hunter finds herself in a world where beasts who have succumbed to the scourge do not exist; instead in their place were beasts of shadows and bone. These creatures were just as mindless and intent on killing as any she's seen. It seemed to the Good Hunter, her job was far from over.

Immortality is not a gift at all. Especially if you didn't ask for it. Over time, boredom and silence become the most terrible of punishments. But, perhaps, a lonely guest from the depths of space can dispel them only with a simple conversation? Meh... This is just an attempt at a story with a good study of the characters.

The Hunter of Old takes pity and humour and answers her call, compressing all its cosmic otherness into the human form once again, so it may walk Remnant at the side of her children.
