In the episode And the Children Shall Lead, an alien entity attempts to take over the Enterprise by taking over the crew, mind by mind, and nobody is exempt-not even a Vulcan. When the alien gets to the bridge, Spock is as vulnerable as the rest of the crew, until the alien goes a step too far.

Summary: Doctor McCoy had always watched his friend and head nurse become heartbroken from an unrequited love she had for a certain Vulcan. In reality McCoy really loved her but the hopeless romantic knew there was no way he could ever compare to Spock?
