AN/Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters or places. I just own the bad idea to make this fic. It's my first attempt at drama/angst and not very good. But if you still like it, let me know. Luinthoron

Nightmares

I don't want to sleep. They say that sleep brings peace. But to me it brings nightmares. I see him dying. The green beam of light hits him and he falls to the ground. There is no scar, no visible injury. But I know that he's dead. "Kill the spare!" That were the words of the Dark Lord. And again I feel guilty. Guilty because of the death of Cedric Diggory. Guilty because of the deaths of Lily and James. And as I think so, I don't want to live anymore. Before the nightmares with Diggory I dreamed about them. I saw them dying as if I has been standing right beside their murderer. I saw him killing them as if he would've shown me that. I know it's impossible, but so it was! I can't even imagine what Sirius must have felt when he realized what had happened. Two of his best friends were betrayed by third. By the only one no-one had suspected to be a traitor. And then he was sent to Azkaban for something he didn't do. It must have been awful.

The nightmares are coming again. I fell asleep and now I scream. I scream and want to wake up, but it's not going to happen. And this time it's different. I see them all - the young champion, the scared parents and the wrongfully accused best friend. And they all accuse me! But that is not the worst thing. It isn't even the fact that I see Voldemort standing beside me again and making me kill them once more in my dream. The worst thing is that I know I'm guilty.

I wake up, trembling all over the body. And I know I can't stand it anymore. Something has to be done.

Harry Potter was sitting in the Weasleys' kitchen as he was dumbstruck by the news.

"Sirius Black, the convicted murderer of Lily and James Potter was today officially pardoned by the Minister of Magic. It seems that the real traitor was Peter Pettigrew who turned out to be alive as he appeared before the Ministry of Magic to make his testimony about the murders of Lily and Janes Potter, Cedric Diggory, the twelve Muggles in Godric's Hollow, Bertha Jorkins and another Muggle called Frank Bryce. He confessed his part in all the mentioned killings and in the Dark Lord's resurrection. He also gave the Ministry a list of Death Eaters known to him, including among others Ministry officials like McNair and Malfoy. Our reporter Aileen Bluebell said that Pettigrew looked like he hadn't slept for a long time and was constantly babbling something about nightmares..."

Harry ran to Ron's room. He found his quill and parchment and began to write to Sirius...
