To Hell and Back

By Metal Garurumon/Dragonball#5

Hi ya all. Long time, no write, I know. After my semi-failure with "Hate is A Powerful Word", I decided to try and broaden my horizons on how I wrote, so you wouldn't be reading the same fic over and over with different characters. So, first in line of my "new wave" fics, here is "To Hell and Back", an X-Men:Evouloution fic set during "The Cauldron, Part 2". This is all from Scott's P.O.V. during the transformation. I do know about "Evouloution", and how it's characters work, so don't get nervous.

I looked forward into that gaping maw of white light. A light that offered me a new destiny, that offered me control of my powers, that offered me a new life. Alex looked at me nervously. "I'm Not going unless you do, too, Scott." He spoke to me. Go figure. Well, it was now or never. For Alex, I was willing to do it. I nodded my head, and we stepped forward. As we did, though, a familiar tingle ran through my mind. The Professor was trying to tell me something telepathically. I halted right at the entrance, already inside. "Scott, listen to me! That machine will alter your mind, you must escape!" That didn't sound too good. "Alex, we gotta get out of here!" I headed to the exit, Alex in tow, just as the steel door slammed in my face.

* * *

"We have to escape, bro!" I spoke to Alex, hiding my own anxiety. Alex didn't need to be shaken up any more then he already was, I thought. "C'mon!" He shouted, joining me in futiley banging the steel door that held us as prisoners. As I lowered my glasses to blast through it, however, my body convulsed with pain. I was too late. The change was beginning.

* * *

Beams of light erupted from my body, a tread beneath me and Alex dragging us deeper into Magneto's hell pit contraption. I saw briefly beyond the light and pain, only to witness the same happening to Alex. I moved about in agony. My muscles were bulging rapidly. It was like being stretched on a wrack. The growth was too fast, and the pain was unbearable. I had to focus, I reassured myself. If I did, maybe I could save Alex and myself. My body continued to change. The pain, the pain, THE PAIN!! It was too much, I couldn't stand it. I felt as if Hell itself had focused all it's flames on me, burning my body and soul. The pain…no, concentrate…the pain…Concentrate…THE PAIN…CONCENTRATE… The bolts of light continued to flow from me, and I could feel my mind, my soul, flowing out with them. The process was almost over…Jean…Professor…Kurt…Kitty…Logan…Evan…Rouge…Ororo…Alex…it was all fading…All of them…no longer mattered. Only one mattered…Magneto. I was complete.

Short, I know, but I had little to work with. My next one will be better, I promise, and If I'm lucky, you guys/girls may like this one.
