Music : Seishirou - January 31 2001
Music : Seishirou by Margot January 31 2001
The snow crunched softly beneath
his feet as he took several steps backwards to admire his work.
It was wintertime, and the trees around him looked dead, their
branches stripped bare of their leaves. He smiled to himself as
he turned the thought of the dead trees over and over in his mind.
Walked around my good intentions
The trees weren't dead, just sleeping.
In a few months, their leaves would return.
Found that there were none
Except for the one before him
now. Its branches thrashed in the cold, merciless wind. This tree
never slept, never died, only existed. Only existed to feed off
the deaths of others.
I blame my father for the wasted
years
But its appearance allowed mere
spectators to believe that it was only another tree, another dead
tree.
We hardly talked
The only thing that was truly
dead was the silence that enveloped him now.
Never thought I could forget
this hate
Seishirou took another step backwards,
and the dead silence allowed the familiar sound of crunching snow
to pound in his ears. He glanced at the ground; there were a few
droplets of blood near his feet. He set his face in a grimace
as he realized there was a drop on his left shoe. He paid no heed
to the large pool of dark, murky blood a few feet away, close
to the foot of the tree.
If I don't make it
The body he had just deposited
was that of a sixteen-year old girl. She had been somewhat short
for her height, but had a beautiful face and silky, raven-black
hair. Her green eyes had been penetrating and horrified during
her last moments... the expression delighted Seishirou, and sent
shivers down his spine at the same time. Subaru-kun had looked
much the same; deep green eyes, wide and alert with horror. Subaru-kun
had been prettier, though.
Know that I loved you all along
Seishirou wondered if he would
have appreciated the girl's beauty more if he had courted her
for longer. She had only known him for mere minutes, when he had
quietly led her deep into a large grove of trees with a glance
and a suggestive smile.
Just like sunny days that
As predicted, curiousity had consumed
her, and she followed him, only to arrive at her final destination.
We didn't know because
What if he had made a bet with
her, too? Learned her name and her family, her personality, become
a part of her life? Would he have learned to love her? Or would
she only end up where she was now, all roads leading to the same
end?
We're all dumb and jaded
The thoughts occurred to him every
time he brought another victim to the tree.
But he still had a bet to settle,
before he could start another one.
Another smile. More crunching
snow.
And I hope to God I figure
out what's wrong
He turned on his heel and departed
as the icy wind ripped through the trees.
