Here we are; the sequel to possibly the best story I'll ever ever write. If you're reading this and haven't read Beat Of A Loud, check it out to give you better understanding.
It's Saturday, July 4th, 17 years after Heaven's Heralds first retired. Yes, first. It would be impossible for them to stay away from the stage too long. They still made music in there spare time in Sam's basement studio. And went on two more tours; one across all 50 states (which earn them a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for Most Concert Tickets Sold of All Time, beating Ed Sheeran by $3.8million) and the other through Europe. In fact, they only took a break from local shows two years prior. Good thing Lincoln had a boss who was a die hard fan or he wouldn't have had a stable accounting job. But enough about that, time to go back to the topic at hand. This July 4th, like the 13 before it, wasn't the normal day of family coming together to eat barbeque and light fireworks in honor of America's birthday. Rather it was a hectic day where more than three different clans came together to devour barbecue, light a second sun in the night sky and a few sparkler candles on a birthday cake so big, it not only needed its own special made table to support it, and could've possibly been made to feed a town, and needed it's own stage to present it on. But who is this cake for?
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Lemy. Happy birthday to you." Sang everyone in attendance as Luna's second child and only son Lemy, walked to the giant cake along with his mom, sister Lyra and his "Uncle"(who was really his dad) to blow out the candles.
"Remember kiddo, if you want it enough, any wish of yours can come true." Luna said to Lemy as he thought of his wish.
Lemy blew out his candles after thinking for a minute and was greeted with a round of roaring applause and cheers from everyone there. Lemy then grabbed a mic to address everyone.
"Thank you guys for coming to celebrate today with me. Today wouldn't be the same without you guys." Lemy said to everyone.
"What was your wish!?" One of his cousins shouted.
"If I'm gonna be honest, it already came true when you all spent the day me."
"If you were any more corny or cheesy, you'd be a walking Dorito!" His Aunt Luan shouted causing everyone to laugh.
"Easy Aunt Luan. Leave the roasting for the wieners."
"She did, ya weeney!" Shouted his Aunt Lynn soliciting more laughs.
"Well since everyone loves Doritos and weenies, I guess that means you guys really do love me."
"Of course we do!" Everyone replied.
Everyone laughed, Lemy thanked everyone and got down from the stage. The party continued until 3 am. Everyone was understandably exhausted. With all the barbecued meat, cake and ice cream everyone ate, it was like 10 Thanksgivings in one. Good thing it was a weekend. By the time the last of the Loud clan visitors left after helping to clean up, Lemy was left with a full stomach, droopy eyes and 351 presents to open. He'd have to open them when he wakes up. So after he showered and brushed his teeth, he slipped into his camo pajamas and laid in his bed. However, he couldn't sleep. No matter how much he tried, his once droopy eyes refused to shut.
"Guess I'm running on reserved sugar power." Lemy said to himself. "I'll just listen to some music. Maybe that'll lull me to sleep."
He pulled out his phone, connected to his wireless earbuds, and played his relaxing music playlist. While it did calm him down a lot, he still couldn't sleep. That's when he decided to walk around the house.
"Maybe I'll just tire myself out or take some sleeping pills." He mumbled to himself.
He walked and walked, but eventually decided to just try his luck again and go back to bed. As he laid down trying to count sheep, he heard a knock on his door.
"Who is it?" He answered.
"It's Lyra. Can I come in?"
"Guess she couldn't sleep either." He thought to himself. "Come in."
She stepped in the room and closed the door behind her. She was wearing her signature purple lace nightgown. She walked over to his bed and sat next to him.
"Having a hard time sleeping kiddo?" Lyra asked.
"First off, yes I am. Second, stop calling me kiddo. You're not Mom."
"With how often I watch over you while Mom is gone, I may as well be."
Lyra always held a certain level of disdain for their mother. With her always being on tour or holed up in her room writing songs, or always being over at Aunt Sam's house recording, she barely got to spend any true quality family time with them. But she never truly blamed her mother, but rather blamed her job. She eventually developed a hatred for rock music because of it. How ironic, given that out of the two kids, Lyra got her mother's talent.
"I get it Lyra. But if it wasn't for that life, we wouldn't have the life we have now. And we wouldn't have been this close either." Lemy said as he snuggled closer to Lyra.
"I suppose you're right." Lyra said holding him closer and tenderly.
Lyra was close to Lemy. A lot closer than most siblings. Some would say that she borderline obsesses over him. She always sits him on her lap when they watch tv, when he does homework, or if she feels bored, always wants a goodbye kiss when he/she leaves the house, she even still takes baths with him for Heaven's sake. Anytime she feels him, her heart warms up immensely. Lemy was a drug to her and she was addicted to him.
"I don't know about you, but being like this with you seems to be helping me sleep." Lemy said as he dosed off.
"I'm glad I could help." Lyra replied before kissing him on the forehead and drifting to sleep herself.
About an hour in, Lyra had finally gone into full REM sleep. Unbeknownst to her, this is when she starts to sleep talk. And since she was essentially face to face with Lemy, this caused him to wake up.
"Mmmmm..Lemy." Lyra said in a sensually breathy voice.
"Hm? Huh? Did you say-" Lemy managed to say before Lyra's lips overtook his.
Lemy was understandably shocked. His sister, in her sleep, is not only dreaming of him but is also kissing him on the mouth. And it was a deep, romantic kiss. Unable to process what's happening, he simply remained frozen. After 30 seconds, which almost felt like an eternity, Lyra removed her lips.
"There's one more present you haven't opened yet." Lyra said still asleep.
"W-w-wha?" Lemy said before Lyra rolled on top of him.
"Unwrap me! Tear everything off and use me till I break!"
"LYRA WAKE UP!"
That caused her to snap back and see what was going on. Seeing the blushing yet confused look on his face made her realize what happened. The very things she thought were locked away in the recesses of her mind came out. And she let them out on Lemy. This made her get off the bed and run out of his room, saying sorry with tears of shame flooding her eyes. Lemy however was left trying to process what just happened. But one thing was for certain: no matter how his mind felt about it, his body responded positively to her advances.
