Paw Patrol Xtra Shorts!

Short one: Flare's Gaming Incident

Today was one of those days where Flare was in the zone while gaming after lunch, and before his training session. He was clearly stressed out with his right eye twitching and his determined look showing that he was struggling with what he was facing. It was then shown that he was struggling to beat a boss in what looked like a turn based RPG. After he licked his lips, he started speaking to himself with determination, and sounded more aggressive than his usual bubbly, sweet self. "Come on Flare! You've been at this boss for two hours now; you have to beat him this time!"

Flare made some kind of strong fire attack on the boss, and while it was weak to it... the boss then hit Flare's last standing warrior with an attack that hit it with double damage. Flare lost again as his last warrior fainted. When Flare saw the game over screen came up, Flare lost his cool and started to get furious at the game. "Darn it! I was so (Throws his controller at the Tv) close!" Just as Flare threw his controller however, it hit the Tv and cracked it, much to Flare's shock as he gasped upon sight.

Flare didn't know what to do. Obviously he felt awful for breaking the Paw Patrol Tv, but he was also scared about the reaction he'd receive. He'd never done anything like this before. As he panicked and looked around, he saw that no one else was around, and he hid under the couch, hoping no one would find him. Just then, Marshall came into the living room from his own room, showing concern on his face. "Flare, are you okay?!" Marshall then came into the living room and looked around to see if Flare was still there. "I heard you screaming and-"

Marshall saw the Tv and gasped, and he then saw Flare's controller and became even more surprised by what he saw. He instantly realized that Flare had a moment of gamer's rage. Luckily, Flare's controller was okay, but the Tv screen was cracked. Flare saw Marshall standing there and didn't want to risk getting him in trouble for something he didn't do, which he feared would happen after the elevator ringed. He came out as soon as Ryder came out from the elevator and apologized for what happened, surprising Marshall as he heard his brother's remorseful voice.

"I'm sorry Marshall." Marshall turned around and faced his brother, who clearly regretted what he did to the Tv. Flare may have been scared about how Marshall would've reacted, but he was also too sweet to get anyone else in trouble for his own mistakes. He hated that even more than getting in trouble for them himself. He knew all he could do was explain to Marshall what happened without making excuses for what he did."I don't know what I was thinking. I just, lost it and then... (Lowers his head) I think you can tell what happened next."

Marshall saw that Flare felt genuinely bad for breaking the Tv, with Flare's guilty whining helping with that, and he just smiled and rubbed his head, much to Flare's surprise. He could never be mad at his little brother; he was just too precious to him. Ryder, who had witnissed Flare's confession, watched from nearby to see how Marshall handled it. He noticed that he was more proud of Flare for confessing rather than upset about the Tv being broken. And as Marshall spoke up, Flare looked at him with worry. "I'll tell Ryder and the other pups I ended up rolling on a ball outside and I was carrying something that smashed into the Tv."

"No need." Ryder spoke up calmly, and Flare flinched as he and Marshall looked to see a calmly smiling Ryder, who'd already picked up a broom and dustpan for Flare and Marshall to use. "I saw what happened, and believe it or not, this isn't the first time I've had to replace the Tv for video game rage." He then joked about what he meant. "Just ask Zuma." Flare and Marshall took the sweeping supplies from Ryder, who was cool and collected about the situation, knowing that Flare truly regretted it. "You two can take care of the mess while I order a new Tv. I'll try to find one in a more durable brand than this one."

Flare still felt bad for breaking the Tv however, and felt it was only right to apologize to Ryder. "I'm really sorry Ryder."

"I replace this with the snap of my fingers." Ryder assured, Flare, snapping his fingers to prove his point. "It's barely a dent in my salary." He then rubbed the Dalmatian puppy's head as he finished what he had to say. "Trust me Flare; I'm not mad. Just, try to keep your cool when gaming next time."

Flare was relieved to see that Marshall and Ryder weren't mad at him, and then he of course heard Marshall's pun about the situation. "Thanks Ryder. I'm glad neither of us had to cheat in this game."

"Marshall!" Flare playfully punched his brother after calling out his pun, and he, Marshall, and Ryder laughed the situation off. Despite the happy ending, Flare took one thing from this moment: Throwing a tantrum... isn't the best way to cope with losing at a video game.
