Holy City of High Charity, 2519, Ninth age of Doubt, Many beings within the Covenant are true, devout followers of the Great Journey. But it would be a lie to say that others think that the day of the Journey will never come.
Josi 'Vadamee is one such individual, one such as him could hardly be considered a believer, but given the path he chose as a Minor in the Covenant military, he had to be level headed, he didn't want to be ousted as an apostate during his final days in training, he needed to be committed. Not to the Great Journey or the Prophets, but to His code of honor, including the brethren in the military along with him.
"Hmph!" "Rahh!"
The final days of training, preparing, and focusing on skills and necessary techniques to counter and beat any foe he encountered along his path have been sharpened enough on Sanghelios when he was much younger, but back then he wasn't himself, he was weaker then.
"Oryaaa!" *SKKSHH*
Josi's Practice energy sword slashed the practice Elite Hologram in two. Ending the sword session of his training. He looked up from the holograms emitter to the training mausoleum of Eloquent Destruction, a CCS Class Battlecruiser stationed with one of the many defense fleets patrolling the floating city. The interior of the mausoleum was fitted with many utensils one would need to practice, be it with melee weapons or rifles. Right now the training mausoleum was empty save for Josi and one assistant keeping the training grounds clean.
Josi faced westward towards the quartermaster's station "Perhaps it would be wise to practice my aim with the Plasma Rifles, as well as some of my other tools" Josi mused to himself as he requested two plasma rifles from the quartermaster's station. "Pardon me" the Minor spoke up causing the apprentice quartermaster to look up, his eyes widening at the size of his fellow kinsman.
He's Gigantic! Even for a normal Sangheili, he's huge! He's got to be at least 3 meters Tall! The quartermaster straightened from his lax position in his chair, he coughed and spoke.
"How can I help you Minor?" he spoke hinting at his awe of the minor's height. "May I request the Plasma Rifles #11 and #12 from bench #2 please?" Josi said with a hint of politeness for the quartermaster. "Very well," the apprentice quartermaster spoke "but please be very careful with them, some of the other minors like yourself have been very rowdy with equipment lately, more so than those ridiculous Jiralhanee packs that came by the last weekly cycle." the quartermaster bellowed, allowing his frustration to voice his concern with his equipment.
He then got up, used his key card to open the locks to the benches, and grabbed the two plasma rifles. Eyeing him once more, the soon-to-be quartermaster spoke up "I've never seen a kinsman like yourself before, maybe one other could compare but not to you, what's your name?" he said raising his head up to meet Minor's Eyes.
"Josi, Josi 'Vadamee." he said as he grabbed the two weapons off of the counter "and you?" he said. "My name is Ofre 'Vol, I'm the assistant to the quartermaster here on the Eloquent Destruction," he said with a hint of sternness within his voice. With that, Josi nodded and acknowledged the assistant and took his words into consideration, and proceeded to the range.
As he left, the assistant caught something odd with the minor, His back, specifically, on his left side of the back of the armor.
A Star, it's not uncommon for recruits to have markings on their armor to signify their personal strength or their strong commitment to their faith in the Great Journey but this stood out amongst all of that.
Josi entered the range picking slot #2 for his position, made all of the necessary precautions, picking a Holographic Brute as his target, and began his range session
*PRAWPPRWAPPRAWPPRWAP*
Four shots were fired, three out of four hit while the last one missed, Kickback on rifles especially when dual wielding were a pain getting a grip on. The Assistant laughed, looking on with interest "Hehe, good luck with the recoil, Idiot! HaHa!"
Make fun of me will you? We'll see if you're laughing after this!
Josi then mustered his strength into his arms and held both rifles sideways and prepared himself to fire, but before he did, something Bizarre happened.
Small Creatures of Different shapes began to appear out of the Sangheili's Eyes, nostrils, mouth, and ears, the creatures began crawling towards the rifles, then began entering the Plasma Bolts themselves.

He fired again, each bolt hitting the hologram with intense energetic fury. The bolts themselves had changed color and size as well from their original blue to a distinct light purple, the bolts became much larger than what the rifles could discharge from. "GWUAAH!" The holographic Brute yelped in pain and then vanished from the first volley but the final volley caused some destruction to the wall of the range.
If the assistant wasn't flabbergasted by what he had seen he sure was now, the holes left by the assault had carved out Ofre's name in full with a little doodle of him crying. With that demonstration done Josi gave the assistant the rifles back with the most smug look an elite could give and left the scene. Ofre could only watch on as the minor left, he then proceeded to examine the plasma rifles, only to leave him shocked. "I-Impossible! The batteries in the rifles are 100%! How is that possible!" Ofre could only exclaim as his superior walked in.
Watching from above the ceiling of the station, a little critter could be seen silently gazing at the two, its antenna wiring a transmission from its master to return with the others. It then swiftly returned with its brethren and its Master.
"We showed him, didn't we… 『Periphery』."
