It was a dark battle. Kickscream was flying in the normal battle formation. He was beside his brother Whiplash. His brother's voice went over the comms saying "why do the dumb Autobots even try fighting?" ahead Wheezing arrow replied, "I don't care why they keep fighting all I care about is that they are running!" Kickscream knew all the members of his squadron. The leader was an older seeker named Nacelle. After Nacelle there was his brother whiplash, the cone head Wheezing arrow, Redwing, and Blackout. He was told of their mission to do a bombing run on an Autobot base. The orders apparently came from the Decepticon air commander Skyfire. Soon he knew they were in Autobot airspace because of Blackout's warning to look out! A shot quickly hit him and he started hurtling towards the ground! He heard Nacelle yell over the comms to keep going and leave him. Then nothing he hit the ground.
A few days later he awoke he couldn't see and hear anything. A voice he didn't recognize said "don't try transforming I shut off all your sensors other than hearing." he replied in a faint voice "who are you?" The voice replied "the name is Ratchet." ratchet then put him into a stasis lock.
Kickscream awoke a few hours later. He was laying on a repair slab. He looked around the room, seeing both Autobots and Decepticons. All of them were damaged in some way. In one corner of the room, he saw a bot with only one arm and one leg. He wondered in his head how nobody knew about this place. Ratchet soon came over to talk to him and he said "you don't have to pay but you can pay it forward by helping out around here."kickscream looked around the room and replied "everybody doc?" Ratchet turned to make his symbol visible and said "Decepticons Autobots, they are all wounded and left behind like you."
He later went on a datapad and looked at himself. Ratchet already told him what he saw. He had been classified as dead. He was just another casualty. For the next month, he helped ratchet out around his base until one day he was told he could leave. As he walked out he knew he would have to find Energon. Luckily he knew the seeker patrol patterns. He knew where a couple of pre-war bars were located. All he had to do was make sure none of the secret stock was gone.
He only flew low to not be seen by the patroles. Every once in a while he would find Energon scavengers. Unlike them, he never sold the Energon; instead he would take a quarter of it for himself and the rest for Ratchet's underground hospital. It was the least he could do to save him. He once met this little yellow bot who seemed to be out for himself. Today he was looking for Energon as a sort creator. As he walked closer he tripped and fell down. He spoke to himself saying "argh my head." behind him he heard a voice say "what's a seeker doing here?" the voice came from a blue face he had seen before. He asked him "your Optimus prime aren't you?" prime replied by saying "so you know who I am."
He was quickly thrown into the brig of the ship the Autobots were building. Prime said he didn't want him to be put here but the rest thought otherwise. He understood if a seeker stumbled upon his secret base he would not be happy either. He made friends with a female Autobot by the name of moon racer. He enjoyed talking to her. She talked to him because she was bored for some reason even though he knew he was probably realy boring . Apparently, Optimus was debating his next move on Megatron with some of his generals. All he knew was that he got to talk to one of the few friends he had. He told her everything that happened to him. She told him one day what she did before the war. And he told her how he worked on the colony worlds.
When Optimus prime finally decided to talk to him he had been in a cell for a month. "So from what my spies in the Decepticons have reported your squadron left and marked you as dead. Is that true?" kickscream replied, "yes that is true."
"But why could you have easily left this place?" prime questions. "Because I am tired of how the Decepticons treated me and all you guys have shown me is compassion." prime laughed and said "do you want a new badge?" kickscream replied, "yes sir do I get an actual room?" "ya, you will be partnered and will be neighbors with Moonracer."
The next morning he woke up to banging on the door to his quarters. He got off his recharge slab. He looked at the new insignia on his wings and smirked. He then got up and opened the door. It was Moonracer. "Ready for your first day as an Autobot?" moonracer said with a chipper tone. He smiled at his new friend. As they walked around the ark on guard duty he always saw people scowling at him. He thought to himself that at least I have one friend. They had given him a new set of null rays and a rifle. The rifle was clunky in his hands. The only other bot on guard duty with them was hound who seemed like a nice guy. And he didn't talk to him much. "Hey moonracer, why does hound seem to dislike me more than the rest?" he asked. "Because of the conquest the seekers have gone on destroying parts of cybertron that were innocent" she replied. He looked to the ground with sorrow in his eyes. "He hasn't been the only one in my life to have that reaction," kickscream said. "Who?" moonracer asked. He looked at her and said "when my brother whiplash joined the decepticons i joined as well. At the time I was dating someone her name was goldflight. She had a bird altmode and she knew the decepticons were no good and left for the colony of caminus." moonracer just looked like she felt bad.
