Disclaimer I do not own the rights to Mario characters or One Piece characters. And as for the Mario I will be using it will be a composite Mario, basically he will have the abilities of the main games and the Mario and Luigi rpg series and Smash Bros., but he will remember all adventures of all the Mario games such as the party games, the Paper Mario series( I know Paper Mario and Main Mario are different versions) because I think it would bring out many more laughs and plot points if Mario remembered all this. As for his personality( since Nintendo doesn't give Mario much personality in the main games) it will be a mix of what he is shown to be like in his rpg games, fan videos( like Nintendo High), and how he acts in his comic book series the Super Mario Bros. Chapter 1: The Start of a New Adventure
Deep within the cosmos a joyous event takes place, the birth of fifteen new power stars. But sadly, the joy is ruined by the actions of a greedy king.
CRASH! KABOOM!
Cannon balls and Bullet Bills fly as dozens of airships surround the small planetoid where the cosmic beings are born.
"Hand over the power stars" yells out the leader of the airships Bowser, the tyrannical King of the Koopas.
"Never!" Rosalina, the cosmic goddess, yells back in retort, desperately trying to defend not only the planetoid but the new power stars as well. Her attention and power divided into both protecting her home from the onslaught of the airships, but also in making sure that the power stars are properly developed, for if their power is unleashed improperly, it could spell disaster not only for this universe, but the multiverse as well.
BOOM! CRASH!
Suddenly one of the airships has an explosion and crashes into another.
"WAHOO!" a familiar cheer is heard as a small and red humanoid shape can be seen jumping from the damaged airship onto another.
"It's Mario!'' one of the goombas on board the airship screams out in shock as our hero clad in a red shirt and blue overalls and wearing his signature mustache and red cap with the letter M on it stands before him.
"Mario!" both Rosalina and Bowser scream out one in relief the other in anger.
"You won't stop me this time! Koopalings attack!" Bowser yelled beckoning forth his seven strongest soldiers to attack Mario all at once. Meanwhile him and his son Bowser jr. jump towards the planetoid, Rosalina puts up a barrier to intercept them, but "Now jr.!" "You got it papa!" Bowser jr. pulls out a wand and shoots a magic sphere at Rosalina. A bright flash erupts, and Rosalina opens her eyes to see she is trapped in a bubble.
"WHAT!" Rosalina yells in shock as Bowser and his son land next to her
"How do you like our new wands Rosalina, made just for you." Bowser gloats. Rosalina then points her own wand at the bubble trying to destroy it only for the bubble to absorb her power. "HA! Don't bother the spell works by using your own power against you, the more you fight back the stronger it becomes." Rosalina bangs her fists against the bubble in anger.
Meanwhile our hero Mario is busy dodging fire balls, magic rings, shell strikes, and whatever else the Koopalings throw at him, pushing him into a corner. The Koopalings ready a final all-out attack to finish him off until suddenly the Koopalings are attacked by a shower of green fire balls and green spotted eggs.
"Don't-a worry Mario, we got your back!" said another figure riding a small dinosaur and wearing an outfit like Mario's but in green. This was Luigi Mario's younger, but taller brother and the small green dinosaur was Yoshi a good friend to the Mario Brothers.
"Good timing Luigi, Now Lets-a go!" yelled Mario with determination.
As both groups approached each other the Mario Brothers and their green companion seemed to be at a disadvantage, but the teamwork the three showed made quick work of the Koopalings. Using each other as platforms for magnificent and devasting attacks, reflecting their own attacks back at the Koopalings was truly a sight to behold. But this was no time to celebrate their victory as Bowser and jr. are approaching the power stars.
"Mario quickly! Grab my hands!" Luigi shouted holding out his hands to Mario. Mario instantly grabbed them as Luigi began to spin faster and faster before letting go and launching Mario at Bowser like a missile. Bowser and jr. saw Mario coming and shot out two fireballs at him, seeing the oncoming attack Mario charged his own fireball in his hands and held it out in front of him as he flew towards them. With his velocity he easily overpowered the oncoming fireballs, continuing his flight towards Bowser.
"MARIO!" Bowser yelled reeling back his fist to attack his red clad adversary. Their attacks clashed with each other causing massive shockwaves that was felt by everyone in the battle, even the power stars were reacting to this clash of titans. Suddenly the power stars in reaction to the shockwaves activated opening three portals, with five stars going into each of the separate portals.
"NOOOO!" screamed Bowser as he watched his prize slip away, taking advantage of his distraction Mario pushed more power into his fire fist and overpowered Bowser, causing a huge explosion and sending Bowser and jr. flying into one of his airships.
"ARGHH… RETREAT THE POWER STARS ARE GONE RETREAT!" yelled Bowser as he clung onto the side of his airship. Mario watched as the airships flew away and then quickly ran over to Rosalina who was still trapped.
"Mamamia are you okay Rosalina!?" Mario said as he peered into the bubble.
"I'm fine Mario I just can't break this since uses my power" stated Rosalina.
"Well, what-a about us?" asked Luigi as he and Yoshi landed next to Mario and Rosalina.
"Perhaps if you and your brother used physical force" Rosalina said while Mario and Luigi pulled out their hammers and with one mighty swing from them both shattered the bubble encasing Rosalina. "Thank you." Rosalina said as she brushed herself off, "You three have done a great deed in preventing the Power Stars from falling into the evil claws of Bowser, but sadly in reaction to the clash between Mario and Bowser the stars seem to have fled into portals going to unknown locations." Said Rosalina with a sad tone towards the end of her sentence.
"Well can't you-a track them down?" Luigi asked.
"Yes, that is no problem for me. But the real problem is retrieving them, can I count on the assistance of the Mario Bros. for this?" Rosalina Asked.
"Of-a course, it'll be no problem!" Mario said while giving a thumbs up and Luigi nodding in agreement.
"Good, then head back home and prepare for the journey and I'll send a Luma to bring you to my observatory when I have located the power stars." Mario and Luigi nodded and flew home with Yoshi.
A while later after Mario and Luigi have returned to the Mushroom Kingdom and Yoshi returned to his island, saying that there was something he had to take care of before joining the Bros. on their adventure, the Bros. are preparing with Princess Peach, Professor E Gadd, and Toadsworth at Peach's castle.
"Okay boys here are your suitcases one for each of you." The suitcases then spring to life.
"Hello again Mario Bros. I am Stuffwell." "And I am Stuffwell 2.0" the suitcases stated.
"Wow you-a made another one? What's the difference between them?" Luigi asked while inspecting the suitcases.
"Nothing, I just couldn't think of a better name for the second one, but they both still provide full functionality of near limitless storage and a new mapping function."
"Mapping function?" Mario and Luigi asked in unison
"Why yes me and my brother here have a new mapping function installed and invented by professor ." "When entering a new area, we can scan the surroundings and print out a map for you two." The suitcases stated.
"Nice but-a why two suitcases?" asked Mario.
"What if you two end up separated during your adventures, it would be awfully inconvenient if only one of you had the suitcase with all the equipment and the other was just left to his own devices."
"Ah, that makes-a sense." Luigi said while nodding his head in agreement with E Gadd.
"Oh, and here you boys, new and improved bottomless gloves." said as he held up two pairs of gloves for the Mario Bros.
"New and improved?" the Mario Bros. questioned.
"Yes, now to activate a power-up you want just pull at the cuff of one of your gloves and think about the power-up." E Gadd explained to Mario and Luigi, nodding their heads in understanding as they put on the new gloves.
"We better go stock up on power-ups before we-a leave eh bro."
"You got-a that right Luigi" Mario stated as he and Luigi walked off. After stocking up on power-ups they bid goodbye to their friends.
"Be careful you two, I doubt Bowser has just given up on the power stars." Stated Peach, the benevolent monarch of the Mushroom Kingdom.
"Here you go Master Mario and Master Luigi two bags with 100 coins each, this should be enough just in case you need extra supplies in the middle of your journey." Stated Toadsworth, the princess's loyal aid and advisor.
"Alrighty are you-a ready bro?" Mario asked.
"Yep, lets-a go." Luigi stated, giving an affirmative nod to Mario. With the Luma's help they fly off towards Rosalina's observatory.
Back with Rosalina, "This is not good, I hope Mario and Luigi will be able to successfully retrieve the stars, but their location is just…" Rosalina stated with worry, after discovering the locations of the power stars.
Suddenly Mario and Luigi bust through the doors to Rosalina's room along with her Luma's. "Hello Rosalina, did you-a find the power stars?" Luigi asked .
"Yes, I have Luigi but there is a problem."
"What- a is it, Rosalina? Are the stars still traveling through the portals?" Mario questioned, scratching his chin in pondering.
"No, they have already reached their destinations, but those destinations are outside of our universe."
"You mean…"
"Yes Luigi, the power stars have traveled to different universes. The dangers have exponentially increased in the retrieval of the power stars. Are you still willing to go and retrieve them for me?" Rosalina asked the Mario Bros. with a hint of desperation in her voice.
"Of course, we are-a still willing to go get them, right bro?"
"Right!" Luigi said affirmatively.
"Thank you." Rosalina said with relief, "To help you out in locating them I will be assigning a star sprite to each of you." Rosalina stated while waving her wand, gesturing to small yellow orbs with stars on top of their heads and two little feet flew out and greeted the Mario Bros.
"Hello, Yello! I'm Starlow!" "Howdy, Yippee! I'm Starley!" The two little star sprites cheerily greeted.
"Starlow it's-a been some time since we-a saw you and who is-a this other sprite?" Mario asked.
"Yeah, it definitely has been a while since our last adventure, and this is my twin sister Starley" Starlow clarified.
"Well, we-a don't mind having another friend on the adventure, do we Cappy?"
"Nope!" Mario's cap stated suddenly growing eyes. This is Cappy a resident of the Cap Kingdom and friend of Mario.
"Oh, you have another ally for your journeys?" Rosalina questioned.
"Yep, so does Luigi." Mario said while point to a small white mass behind Luigi. As Starlow and Starley approach the small mass it suddenly jumps up and starts barking at them while running in a circle, this is Polterpup a ghost dog who Luigi befriended on one of his adventures.
"Oh my, how cute, does this mean you two are fully prepared and equipped for this journey?"
"Uh-huh" Luigi nodded while he and Mario pull out two pieces of equipment, Mario a device capable of sucking up and shooting out water out of different nozzles called F.L.U.D.D and Luigi a vacuum cleaner that can nullify the abilities of ghost as well as capturing them called the Poltergust 3000.
"Thank you, Mario and Luigi, your readiness gives me both confidence and hope. Now when in the different universes time does move differently. From what I can tell their time is faster in these universes." Explained Rosalina.
"What do you mean, exactly how much faster?" Mario asked.
"Well from my estimations one month in these universes is only one day here, but these fluctuations could vary between the universes you travel to." Rosalina explained while preparing to open a portal to the first universe.
"Well, the sooner we-a get started the faster we-a finish this. Luigi, lets-a go!" Mario exclaimed.
"Okie dokie!" Luigi said while nodding his head.
With that Rosalina opened the portal and the Mario Bros. jumped in ready to start a new adventure. While traveling through the portal they suddenly felt a strange force begin to pull on them, they tried to stay together but it was too strong, and they were pulled apart.
"Luigi!"
"Mario!" the brothers screamed, only able to watch as they drifted apart.
Mario saw a light at the end and with a thrust of force he went through it, only to find he was falling from the sky.
"MAMAMIAAAAAAA!" Mario screamed as he approached the ground.
With a quick flip and twist he corrected his trajectory and landed on his feet. As he surveyed his surroundings, he found himself on a small island surrounded by the sea. He was about to pull out Stuffwell when suddenly Starlow flew out from his overalls.
"Mario, I sense a power star in that direction!" she stated while pointing with her now glowing star antenna.
"That was-a fast." Mario exclaimed while pulling on his glove and equipping his frog suit. "Okay, let's-a go!" Mario said while jumping into the water and swimming towards the direction Starlow pointed at.
