Chapter 1

In the heavenly realm…

"It is of no concern, the males were merely…"

"No concern? They ATTACKED me in my own territory!"

Mom was really going at her uncle, he refused to acknowledge the dragons who went to the earthly realm on a whim… when all know they went there to try and kill them. Suiryu knew this song and dance all too well.

"Also, the hunting grounds, we had an agreement that would be common territory, but I have been informed that they are devouring the young even there! There is a rule in place for this, why is it not being enforced!" mom demanded.

Suiryu peered over at the uncle who refused to even speak at this point. "Neutral does not mean that anything goes." He said aloud. "Mom's question is valid. Why are you not answering her?"

Suddenly, Uncle got upset.

"Control your whelps." He growled to her. "They speak out of line!"

"I speak for you refuse to answer my mother, at least we are getting some sort of answer out of you."

"Your sons are not innocent of this crime either!" he protested. "We have witnesses that they devoured dragons in the hunting world!"

"How convenient…" said Yuuji. "You refuse to listen to the proof offered by mother on those who are killing innocent, young dragons and yet, somehow, you have witness to us committing such a crime in self defense?"

This was the perfect way to corner someone in Suiryu's mind. He asks and bring up the tough questions and works as backup for mom. When they attack them, Yuuji speaks. His voice is soft and innocent too, so it take out the notion that they are speaking out of terms with the elder dragon… at the same time, if Yuuji threatens someone no one takes him seriously.

"My children show wisdom beyond their years, they speak the truth for many times, I had to chase away males who came to my cave when I went to that world to eat. And yes, I brought my sons recently for they were having a growth spurt."

"GROWTH SPURT!" Uncle laughed. In fact, all the dragons laughed aloud. "THEY DIDN'T GROW AT ALL!"

"We're in our human state, we're rather comfortable this way, besides…" Suiryu paused as he looked about the room, he nodded rather confidently before stating. "My bro and I won't fit here." He said bluntly.

The room stopped laughing for a moment, before bursting into fits once more.

"BAHAHAHA! This whelp! He think he's bigger than this room! We all fit in here you little bastard!" snickered Uncle's son.

However, Yuuji already went to work. With great courtesy he helped mom from her seat and escorted her to the doorway of the room, from there, they stepped back and out of the room before the nod was given.

"Guess there's no other choice…"

The room began to fill with white smoke. From there, Suiryu envisioned his true dragon form, but, just as he was turning, he already felt his head hit the roof! He wasn't even in his true state yet!

"STOP IT! STOP IT RIGHT NOW! WE GET IT! STOP!"

He stopped mid way before he began to shrink back down. "Hey, I didn't even turn fully!" he protested. "I barely had my scales!"

The room… was silent.

Uncle, was pale as mom bore a proud grin on her face.

Yuuji brought her back into the room, yet, as she sat down. Suiryu felt it. Yuuji too for but a moment, and yet, they felt beyond the energy… that soul energy…

He's back.

"Mom…" Yuuji said gently.

"I know, just a moment…" she whispered. "It appears that this is not going to end any time soon, however I wish to remind all in this room the consequences for it you come after my children or their friends and family… My realm you obey MY rules. In the hunting world… mutual respect should be given to all who live there, and yet, I see that not all here are satisfied with the culling of their own kind enough as it is…"

Uncle was oddly silent about it all. "In other words, if you don't want to keep the hunting grounds as a land of equals… fine by us!" Suiryu said with a twisted grin. "In fact… I think I am going to go at least once a week, perhaps more… and Yuuji will go… but we won't go at the same time… and if we feel like it… we will devour any who piss us off!"

"That's not…" Uncle was about to say, but Mom growled at him.

"OR… no dragons are to be harmed, hunted, killed, eaten, wounded or fought against in the hunting world… we will abide by the rule since mom has asked us to UNLESS someone threatens us. BUT, if all are willing to agree to this… then there is no problem right?" Yuuji asked.

No one spoke.

"YES OR NO!" Suiryu snapped.

"AGREED!" they all announced, even uncle much to his dismay.

But then, there was a look in his eyes. "If that's all mom, may we please be…"

"I don't think I got a chance to know the two of you just yet… Yuuji and Suiryu, correct?" Uncle asked.

Suiryu knew this would happen.

Yuuji was getting antsy. "Suiryu…" he whispered desperately.

He knew it too, he could sense everyone from here… a fight for their lives was an understatement of that.

"If you had wanted to get to know us, rather than have us killed. You would have made the time." Suiryu said in a low and yet, disturbing tone.

It startled Uncle enough to shut the hell up. They turned to their mother, who nodded her approval. "Be careful you to, and I hope you show some responsibility later…" she said offhandedly.

He didn't understand what she was referring to, but now wasn't the time to figure it out. "Let's go," he whispered.
