Ryo Itsuki is your average highschool delinquent and everybody in the school knew him as one. Black hair tied in a messy bun, bright green eyes and a quick witted Liar. He was walking home from school when his mother called him up.
~"If you're on your way home can you please pick up some milk and eggs"~
~"Alright, I'll stop by the store on my way home"~
~"Thank you"~ His mother hung up.
Ryo put his phone in his pocket and looked around at the other students staring at him. "What are you people looking at!?" all the students shot their heads forward and sped up so as to not anger him.
After a bit of a walk Ryo entered the nearby supermarket, he walked through the store muttering the list of two items under his breath to himself. "Eggs… eggs" Ryo stopped in front of where the eggs would have been. "Damn all gone, Guess I'll get the milk instead, nothing I can do about that" Ryo walked further into the store to the milk aisle. "She didn't specify how much we needed so I'll get four pints" Ryo put the four pints into the basket and walked to the front of the store and passed through an aisle with books mainly manga and light novels. He took a glance at them while going down the aisle before stopping in front of one book.
"Kaguya-sama: Love is war. I've only watched the anime up to the third season, might as well start the manga while waiting for the fourth" Ryo looked around for any students from his school and after he made sure there were none he picked the book up and put it in the basket under the milk to hide it.
Ryo is a closet anime and manga lover.
After hiding the book he continued to walk towards the self checkout section.
*Bang!* A gunshot happened right behind Ryo and he quickly turned around to see a woman fall to the ground holding her stomach as red gushed out. Ryo watched as the man with a gun pointed the gun at him.
"Wrong time, wrong place bud" A mad smile grew across the man's face.
The only word Ryo let out as he stared down the barrel of the gun was. "Crap" A second gunshot went off and everything went dark.
Two weeks later.
["People fall in love, confess and Become a couple… No matter who you ask, everyone would agree that this is a wonderful thing… BUT THEY ARE SO WRONG! There is a clearly defined relationship of power between two lovers! The one who controls and the one who is controlled! The one who obeys and the one who is obeyed! THERE IS A WINNER AND A LOSER! If you aspire for something higher than your position… Then you will undoubtedly become the loser! Because… LOVE IS WAR! AND THE ONE WHO FALLS IN LOVE LOSES!"]
["Shuchiin private academy! An incredibly prestigious academy, originally established to educate the children of nobles and samurai! In modern times, now that the aristocracy no longer exists, its students are the children of wealthy families, who will go on to become the new leaders of Japan! And the ones who lead them cannot by any meaning of the word, be referred to as "ordinary" people!"]
"Everyone look!" a student said loudly, turning everyone's head towards where they pointed. "It's the student council!" The student stared as the two walked down the hall.
["Shuchiin academy vice-president: Kaguya Shinomiya. Her family's assets total two hundred trillion yen. Trains, Banks and Cars. With easily over one thousand child companies, the Shinomiya group is counted among the big four zaibatsu. And she is the daughter of Gan'an Shinomiya, the leader of the entire group. And as befits one with such a distinguished lineage, she excels in theater, music, martial arts and countless other subjects"]
["And this guy is the man she supports, Shuciin academy president: Myuki Shiroga… That's not Miyuki Shirogane! Mikyuki has neat blonde hair and blue eyes, this guy's hair is black and tied in a messy bun with green eyes. Almost exact opposites!"]
"Shinomiya, you head back to the council room. I'm going to head to the bathroom quickly" The stranger said.
"Alright then" Kaguya kept walking after he turned the corner and entered the bathroom.
["Who is this mysterious stra-"]
"Would you stop shouting so loud in my head!" The stranger said looking in the mirror.
["My bad… Hold on you can hear me!?"]
"Yes and stop talking so loud!"
["Who are you and where is Miyuki Shirogane!?"]
"First I'm Ryo Itsuki and secondly… I have no idea." Ryo took a deep breath "By the way who are you?" Ryo asked the mysterious voice.
["I'm the narrator for the story and this is not how the story should be playing out!"]
"You're telling me, I only just finished the third season!"
["Is it good?"]
"I'd give it a solid nine out of ten."
["What made it lose a point?"]
"We're getting off track. I think a good place to start is where it started for me."
["Yeah you're right!"]
"Ok so if my memory is correct then I got shot buying groceries for some reason, and woke up in a world I barely know two weeks ago."
["So it's some isekai type situation?"]
"Possibly…?"
["But that doesn't explain the lack of Shirogane"]
"I don't know where he is unfortunately."
["The story won't continue properly unless he's the president"]
"And I don't want to be the student president, so we have a shared objective: Find Shirogane"
["But for the story to continue someone will need to take his place in the meantime"]
Ryo felt the narrator give a sly look even though he's just a voice. "I'm just a delinquent. I don't know the first thing about being a student president!"
["I'll try and help wherever I can, just help me make this story right"]
Ryo gave a giant sigh, "Alright".
["Great! But just one quick question"]
"Okay…?"
["You're in Shirogane's shoes and if that's the case then Shinomiya will have a crush on you, to most people that would be a dream"]
"I may think Kaguya is the best girl but… Shirogane and Shinomiya deserve each other." Ryo is a Miyuki and Kaguya shipper.
["Good luck in acting like Shirogane then"]
"Yeah…" Ryo splashed his face with water then dried it off to get his head in the game before leaving the bathroom.
As he got to the door to the student council room he stood there and muttered to himself. "Shirogane… Shirogane…" He took one deep breath before opening the door and walked in. The student council room wasn't that big, it had 2 couches with a table between them, cupboards covered one of the walls and the student president's desk sat in front of the back window so it faced the doors.
"Welcome back president" Kaguya was on one of the couches reading a book.
'If I remember correctly then this is the moment they think to themselves about the other one confessing'. "Thank you Shinomiya" Ryo walked through the council room and sat at the desk and began to fake read some papers. 'It does not feel right to sit here'.
["It will be fine you are the president right now after all, especially with the aiguillette on your uniform"]
'I forgot I was wearing this, why am I wearing it?'
["It was passed down to every president in the last two hundred years. I thought you watched the anime"]
'I watched it mainly when I was doing other stuff, so don't expect me to remember everything'.
["Alright-"]
Ryo cut the narrator off. 'Speaking of remembering, isn't there a six month gap just after this?'
["Yeah… So we can look for Shirogane in the meantime, before anything storywise happens"]
'Exactly' Ryo was glad that the narrator caught on so quickly and smiled
Kaguya saw the smile. "Is everything alright president?"
"Hm? Oh yeah I'm fine, I just remembered a… funny video I saw yesterday" Ryo lied.
"Okay...?"
'That response was a little underwhelming than I thought for someone that is supposedly meant to "like" me'. Ryo's eyes widened when a thought hit him. 'Wait does she have a crush on me? She hasn't said anything she did in the anime that would hint that she does. Crap! If she doesn't then-' The narrator cut him off.
[Calm down I just read her thoughts, she's doing the whole "If he were to offer me his mind, body and hometown" bit"] The narrator imitated Kaguya's voice.
'I guess that's good then, though It does feel kind of embarrassing to hear it upfront'.
["Oh I know, you should think the line!"]
'Think the line?'
["You know the whole "If Shinomiya threw herself to my feet and begged me to go out with her then I might consider it" bit"]
'Didn't that come before hers, we've missed the chance'.
["Yeah I guess it wouldn't make sense…"] Ryo could tell the narrator was trying to guilt trip him.
'Although… If Shinomiya were to throw herself down to my feet and beg me to go out with her… I might consider it'. and he fell for it.
*Cough cough* ["While they carry on with these delusions… half a year go-"]
'Don't say it!'
["What why?"]
'If we skip six months we won't be able to find Shirogane!'
["Ah! sorry I got caught up in the moment"]
'It's fine, from here on out we won't be able to change the story but where do we start?'
["We could… check the student registration to see if he is actually a student here"]
'That's a start so where's the register?'
["I'm just the narrator, ask Kaguya"]
Ryo looked disappointed but went with it. "Shinomiya you wouldn't happen to know where the student register is?"
"Should be in the cupboard over there, why?" Kaguya pointed to the cupboard next to his desk.
"I just need to… put names to faces so I don't seem rude".
"That's kind of you" Kaguya went back to reading.
Ryo went over to the cupboard and looked for the student registry mumbling to himself. "Yearbooks… accepted and rejected students… Aha student registry" Ryo took the book out of the cupboard and sat back at the desk before opening it up.
["That book seems quite large"]
'There are a lot of students and if you see him shout it out' Ryo opened the book.
Half an hour later.
Ryo had his hand on the closed book and had a dissatisfied look on his face, 'He wasn't in it! Does he not exist or something!?'
["No he definitely exist why else would his name be on my script, check the book on accepted and rejected students"]
'You think he was rejected?'
["It's possible to make room for you in the story"]
Ryo got up and looked for the accepted and rejected books. Then sat back down and opened it.
Kaguya took glances at Ryo 'What is the president doing? He's awfully jittery today' Suddenly his face lit up.
'Found him!... In the rejected' Ryo's face grew disappointed again, catching Kaguya's attention
["Why was he rejected, isn't he supposed to have perfect grades?"]
'Apparently not, he got fourtees on everything'.
["Fourtees… We're screwed"]
'Hold on a second…' Ryo got a closer look at the book.
["What is it?"]
'His test it's different to all the other students'
["So…?]
"If I point it out to the principal they might give him another chance".
"Point what out?" Kaguya asked.
'Crap I said that outloud, but maybe it's not a bad Idea that she knows.' "I was just looking through the accepted and rejected students and it appears that this student was given a third year exam and not a first year".
["Ryo Itsuki you great man!"]
Kaguya walked up to the desk and Ryo showed her the profile of the rejected teenager.
"Hmm yeah it appears you're right, I'm guessing you would like to give this student a second chance then?" Kaguya said.
"Yes, it would be unfair not to" Ryo stood up and walked to the door with the book in hand.
"I'm sure you have a busy schedule as usual so I'll talk to the principal for you," Kaguya said.
'That's great! I don't know a damn thing about stuff like this!' "I would really appreciate that, thank you Shinomiya" Ryo handed Kaguya the book and she walked away.
["You're quick on your tongue"]
"Like I said I was a delinquent in my past life so I had to get out of trouble a lot".
["Well it should come in handy down the line"]
"Before we do anything else let's go over what we already know."
["First: Shirogane is not enrolled at this school, Second: You have been given the role of Shirogane in this story.]
"We also know that Shirogane should be getting a second chance at enrolling".
["but then there's the problem of Kaguya liking you and not him"]
"That is a problem, but we should focus on one thing at a time". Ryo sat back down. "We have a few months until we become second years, Shirogane needs to be in the school by then".
["So our plan of attack is…?"]
"Getting Shirogane into the school is our task at the moment".
After school.
Ryo was on a bike riding back to where he lived.
["You said you were from another world"]
"Yeah why?"
["So where do you live?"]
"A small apartment complex, when I came here I found house keys in my pocket and it seems I don't need to pay rent either".
["So many adults are jealous of you right now"]
"I also found this bike in the house as well".
["Wow a free house and a free bike, how lucky"]
After a bit of riding he made it back to his apartment, It was a small cheap looking apartment complex and walking up the steps to the second floor was a familiar blonde teen.
Ryo stopped by the stairs. "Hey are you Miyuki Shirogane by any chance?"
The blonde guy turned around. "Yeah that's me, you need something?"
["Quite the coincidence"]
"First I should introduce myself". Ryo got off the bike and Shirogane walked down the steps. "My name is Ryo Itsuki, the student council president at Shuchiin Academy".
"What would the president want with me?".
"I was looking at the accepted and rejected students' tests and it seems they made a mistake and gave you a third year test".
"They did?"
"The vice president talked with the principal about it and hopefully they'll give you a second chance to enroll at the start of the second year".
"Wait really!" Miyuki's eyes gained a lighter blue color when he heard it.
"Nothing certain yet but I'm going to fight to get you that second chance you deserve".
"I really appreciate it but did you come all the way here just to tell me that?" Shirogane asked.
"No It's just a coincidence, I live right there" Ryo pointed to one of the apartments on the bottom floor.
"So the president of a prestigious school lives in a run down dump like this".
"Some of us get in either through tuition or our academic skills". 'And I'm neither'.
"Knowing I have a second chance I'm getting pumped to study" Shirogane started to climb the stairs again.
"If you need anything I'll be at home" Ryo said as he took a few steps towards his house.
"Thanks again!" Miyuki said before entering his house.
After Ryo got through his front door he immediately took his aiguillette off. "I forget how heavy this thing is".
["It's solid gold"]
"It is!?".
["Anyway what now?"]
"We wait for Shirogane to hopefully get accepted before anything else which means you can say the line".
["The line?"]
"The whole "Half a year goes by" Thing, you remember?".
["Oh right!"] *Cough cough* ["While they carry on with these delusions… half a year goes by"]
And that is where chapter 1 ends, this will be a story I'll update every now and then might be weekly might not we'll see. Hope you enjoyed it.
