Erin lindsay, the foster daughter of Hank Voight and the late Camille Voight. Former intelligence detective and the love of jay halstead life.

Erin left 8 years ago, to be an FBI agent in New York, she only kept in contact with Hank. Hanks the only one that knows about her and Jays twin daughters.

Camille Amelia halstead (Amelia after jays mom and Camille after Erin's foster mom and hanks wife.) and Nadia Kimberly halstead. (Nadia after Erin's best friend that died and Kimberly after Kim burgess.)

Cammie and Nadia are the spitting imagine of their father. Dark brown hair, green eyes and freckles. They are identical twins and give Erin a run for her money.

Erin has been offered to go back to the intelligence team in Chicago and she took it, knowing it was time to return home. Bunny died two years ago and now she can finally go home without worrying about poisoning her and her daughters' lives.

Erin sends a quick text to Hank just before they borad the plane, saying:

Erin: boarding the plane, I want you to tell Jay I'm coming home. Like you said the other day he deserves to know before I get there… I love you Hank…

Hanks sitting at his desk doing paperwork as it's a slow day when he receives the text from Erin. He smiles at his phone and send a quick reply that says:

Hank: okay, I will. I love you too kiddo. You and my grandkids be safe and have a safe flight.. I'll see you when you get here.

Hank gets up and goes out to the bullpen. He looks around, it just hasn't been the same without Erin and he's so happy his family is coming home.

Jay Halstead has tried to move on from Erin, but nobody stuck not even Hailey Upton, but they remained good friends.

Hank knows that jay still holds a candle for his daughter and he wants the four of them to be a family now, so hanks says "Halstead my office."

Jay sighs and gets up, going into hanks office and shuts the door, wondering what he did.

"Take a seat Jay." Hank says gesturing to the sofa across from the desk he is sitting behind.

"Is everything okay, Sarge?" Jay asks.

"Yes, but I need to inform you that Erin is coming back to Chicago for good and coming back to the unit." Hank says watching jays reaction. At first there's shock but then there's the smile Hank hasn't seen since Erin's left.

"She is?" Jay asks still processing the news.

"Yes, she arrives in three hours and I want you to go pick her up but there's something else you need to know." Hank says

And Jay sighs saying "let me guess she's with someone.." jay rubs a hand over his face preparing himself for the confirmation, but is shocked when hank shakes his head 'No' and says "no she hasn't been with anyone since you." He says

"Really?" Jay asks dumbfounded.

Hank nods, "really. But you have two adorable little girls." Hank says and Jay is completely shocked.

"What?" Jay asks confused.

"She had twin daughters 7 months after she left. She wasn't allowed to tell you her boss at the time wouldn't allow any connections to Chicago besides me. I've pulled strings with the ivory tower and the FBI to get her home now, and she wanted me to tell you so you weren't completely floored when she got here. Jay she wanted to tell you, trust me she did." Hank says sighing and leaning his elbows on his desk, looking Jay in the eyes.

"They look exactly like you and they are identical twins."

Jay takes a deep breath, then asks "do you have a photo?"

Hank Nodded as he pulls out a picture frame he keeps hidden in his desk drawer.

It's a frame with two photos in it. One the day the girls were born and the other he keeps updated. The latest photo was from a month ago when hank visited for the weekend. They went to Central Park and feed the ducks.

Hank passes the frame to jay and says "the first photo is the day they were born and the second was a month ago when I visited."

"Wow, they are gorgeous. They have Erin's smile." Jay says with tears coming down his cheeks.

"They are and they do. They are just as sassy and stubborn as her too." Hank says chuckling.

"What's their names?" Jay ask wiping at his tears.

"Camille Amelia Halstead and Nadia Kimberly Halstead." Hank informs the younger detective.

"She gave them my last name and named Camille after my mom?" Jay asks, shocked but thrilled at the same time.

"Yea, she did. She had photos of you and her all over her apartment and a frame with photos of you and her and Camille, Nadia, your mom and Kim who Nadia is named after on the girls night stand. " Hank pauses rubing a hand over his face, then continues "they know all about the important people in their mom's life and why they couldn't meet you. They know about you and are so excited to get to finally meet you." Hank explained.

"Really? I'm glad Erin did that. I miss her so god damn much, Hank and I'm pissed at the FBI for not letting her have contact with me and keeping my girls from me. But I'm not mad at Erin, I know she just did what she had to. I love her so much I wanna make things right with her once and for all." Jay explained.

"Then do it. Go pick them up take the rest of the day and until Monday when Erin starts back here at the u it, get to know your daughters. I'm about to tell the team she's coming back, you can be here for that or go and get ready for your family." Hank tells the man that's become like a son to him.

"I'll stay until you tell the unit, then I'll go get my girls." Jay says, he hesitates for a second, but adds "do you think she'll want me back after eight years? After everything?" Jay asks the man that's been like a father to him.

"Yes I do. I know for a fact she does." Hank says with a nod and a smile.

"Okay. Well we better go tell the team." Jay says but adds "let's not tell them about the girls just yet, okay?" Jay asks

"Okay." Hank agrees.

They walk out of the office and into the bullpen, with rare smiles gracing their faces.

"Everyone, we are getting another member in the unit starting Monday." Hank says cutting right to the chase.

"What?"

"Really?"

"Who?"

"Why?"

Is heard all throughout the bullpen.

"It's Erin guys she's coming home."Jay says happily.

"What?"

"Is she staying for good?" Uptown asks crossing her arms over her chest.

"Yes she is." Hank and jay say in unison.

"When does she get here?" Antonio asks, happy to have the detective that's always been like another sister to him back.

"In an hour." Jay says

"I'm giving jay the rest of the day and the weekend off. He's going to pick her up." Hank says then nods to jay and he goes to get his stuff and heads out.

"I hope she doesn't break his heart again." Uptown says.

"She won't." Hank says matter of factory and returns to his offfice.

Jay gets into his truck and reaches up and pulls the sunviser down and takes the picture that he keeps tucked up there down and looks at it. It was the picture they took the day they moved in together. They were so happy then. He's missed her for the last eight years and he can't belive he's finally getting his second chance with her. Jay also can't believe he has twin girls. There's no denying their his as they are the spitting image of their father.

He kisses the picture and says "I won't let you down. I'll have your back and I'll love those girls so much Er. " he tucks the picture back up into the sunviser and puts the truck into drive.

On the way to the airport, he thinks about everything, all the good times with Erin, how much he's missed her. How much he's missed out on with his daughters.

But he promises himself he'll make up for lost time.

He pulls up into the parking lot and gets out and goes to her gate. He sees it's just landed. So he waits for his girls…

Erin has a carry on over each shoulder and a little girl on each hand. She locks eyes with Jay immediately. It's like they can still sense when the other is present.

They share a smile and he sees her saying something to their daughters. He still can't believe that Camille and Nadia are his girls. That he has two kids that are Seven and a half.

"Hi." Erin says shyly when she reaches him.

"Hi." He replies.

"I've missed you" he blurts out making Erin smile.

"I've missed you too." Erin says hiking a duffel bag higher up her shoulder. Jay goes and takes the bags, as she asks, "did Hank tell you about my daughters?"

"You mean our daughters and yes he did."

"Hi Camille and Nadia!" Jay says getting down on their level.

"Hi, your our dad right?" One little girl asks

"Is he our dad, mom?" The other little girl asks.

"Yes girls he's your dad." Erin says with watery eyes.

She then gestures to her left and says "this is Camille." Then she gestures to her right and says "this is Nadia."

"Hi Camille, hi Nadia. It's so good to meet you." Jay says with tears running down his cheeks.

"Daddy!" The girls exclaim and give him a big hug.

He hugs them back, squeezing his eyes shut as the tears flow freely.

"We love you daddy." Nadia says

"I love you guys too. So much." Jay says kissing each of their hair.

"I never thought I'd be able to have you meet them, and I'm so happy I am able to." Erin says, crying herself.

"Me too." Jay says

"How have you been?" Jay asks as he stands up holding a hand of each of his daughters.

"Good, I've missed you and everyone. I've missed Chicago." Erin explained

"I've missed you too, it just hasn't been the same without you here or in the unit." Jay says going up to Erin and kissing her cheek, as he has his hands occupied with holding his daughter's hands so he can't give her a hug. Erin blushes and says "I'm glad we're back."

Jay nods and says "me too, do you guys have any luggage?" He asks.

"Yea, just a few bags, the rest of our stuff is coming with the movers." Erin explained.

Jay nods, then asks "do you have a place to stay?"

"Yea I bought a house." Erin explained.

"Wow, that's good. Is it in a good school district for our girls?" Jay asks, Erin nods saying "yea, they are going to a private school."

Jay's eyes widened, then says "wow, I'll help with the cost, we also have a lot to talk about."

Erin nods and says "yea we do, and you don't have to it's okay, but I understand if you want to."

Jay nods, "saying I want to." Erin smiles then they grab their bags and head to jays truck.

"You still have the GMC?" Erin asks

"Yea you know it's my dream truck and it was the last vehicle we drove in together I couldn't stand to part with it." He says rubbing his neck as he opens the back doors for the girls and Erin puts the booster seats in.

"Okay girls buckle up." Erin says and both girls do as they are told.

"Can we go for ice cream before we head to your new place? I'd like to treat my three girls if that's okay?" Jay asks in a hushed tone.

Erin blushes at his 'three girls' remark, but nods saying "I'd like that, you can tell them if you want."

"Okay," Jay says nosing then looks into the backseat at his beautiful daughters, "Nadia, Camille, would you girls like to go for ice cream?" He asks

"Yes!!" Both girls exclaim excitedly.

Then Camille says "daddy you can call me Cammie if you want and also are you going to come for ice cream as well?" She asks.

"Okay, Cammie, and yes I am, is that okay?" He asks nervously, scared his daughters don't want him too.

"Yes! We'd love for you to get ice cream with us!" Nadia is the one to answer with her twin nodding vigorously.

Jay and Erin chuckle, jay says "okay good let's go then." He puts the truck in drive and heads to an ice cream shop, one that him and Erin use to always go to.

Once at the ice cream shope Erin looks to jay and asks "you remembered?"

"Of course, I haven't been able to come here without thinking of you and I, so I thought it would be a good place for us to go as a family." Jay answers, with a shy smile.

Erin smiles widely, then says "I'm glad you picked this place, I think it's perfect for our first family outing."

"Good I'm glad." Jay smiles then they get out and get the girls out and head inside.

They go up to the counter, then jay asks "Er, you want your regular?" Erin nods as she smiles at the thought of jay remembering her favourite ice cream.

"Nadia, Cammie, what kinds would you like?" The father asks.

"Strawberry, with strawberry syrup and whips cream and a cherry." Both girls say in unison.

Jay chuckles, leans down in front of them, then tells them, "that's my favourite too."

"We know mommy tells us we are just like you every time we order it." Nadia says happily.

Jay raises an eyebrow at Erin, he says "she does now, does she?" The girls nod their heads vigorously making Erin and jay both chuckle.

He orders the ice creams and Erin's death by chocolate with M then they go sit and talk for a bit.

"So tell tell me , what do you guys like to do for fun?" Jay asks his daughters.

Nadia is the first to answer as her sister has a mouthful of ice cream. "I love to dance and do cheerleading, I also love gymnastics!" The 7 and half year old answers enthusiastically.

"Wow, that's awesome, where you on any teams in New York?" The father asks.

Nadia nods her head vigorously, swallow some ice cream then answers her dad "yes I was and moms got me on teams here in Chicago as well." Nadia answers while bouncing in her seat.

"Wow, that's awesome, can't wait to see you in action sweet pea." Jay says making Nadia beam with pride that her dad wants to watch her in action.

"Awesome, I can't wait for you to come to some competitions and recitals." Nadia says excitedly.

Jay smiles at his daughter then turns to Cammy, what about you princess you into the same as your sister?" Jay asks

Camille shakes her head "no" and answers, "no I'm more sporty, I love hockey, baseball, softball and basketball most of all but I'll do any kind of sport." Cammy smiles widely.

Erin is the one to speak next.

"Nadia is our girly girl and Cammy is our rough and tuff sport Tom boy." Erin explained.

Jay nods then says "there's nothing wrong with either of those things."

The girls nod their agreement just as Erin gets a text and she sighs.

"What's wrong Er?" Jay asks

"Hank wants me to come by the district to sign some stuff and he wants to see his granddaughters." Erin explained.

"Okay we can go to the district before going to your new house." Jay explained.

"Ok." Erin replies. Erin turns to the girls and says "we are going to go see grandpa hank and see where Molly will be working, also where daddy already works." She explained to the little girls who smile widely, excited to see where their family works.

They throw away their trash and head to the truck.

Once at the district, jay turns to Erin , then asks "are you okay?"

"Yea I'm fine, just a bit nervous." She explained.

"Don't be we all have missed you." He explained, squeezing her thigh.

Erin smiles at him and says "I still love you jay and we have a lot we need to talk about so why don't you stay over at the house tonight?" She asks. Hopeful that he will agree.

Jay nods then says as he smiles "I'd love that and yes we do need to talk."

With that said they get out and get the girls out, then take them into the district.
