Inktober 2022 day 1 "Gargoyle"
"And I'm telling you, it could work if you merged Bruni and the Giants together!"
Elsa blinked astonishingly at Olaf's suggestion. "It... Wouldn't." She then shook her head. "It doesn't work like that, not even remotely. Magic doesn't... merge!"
Anna shrugged next to her. "You can control water and wind, in a way, no?"
Elsa blabbered as she tried to answer her correctly, but couldn't. Her sister had a point, yet didn't grasp it correctly. She gave up when another incoherence came to her mind.
"For the Giants to bring the... Stone part to it, I get it." Admitted Elsa. "But Bruni looks like a salamander, not a dragon!"
"Same thing." Replied Anna and Olaf with the same voice, their tone both serious and childish. They exchanged a smirk.
Elsa sighed. She rubbed the top of her nose, and Kristoff chuckled next to her. He put his hand on his friend's shoulder. "Forget them. They're really obsessed with the idea. It almost was the only conversation topic on our way here."
Olaf raised a twig finger to be more precise. "No, we talked about hawks too."
"Hawks?" Frowned Elsa.
Anna laughed. "Oh, right. He has this theory that Gale was a hawk before and she then turned to... Well, wind, and lost her shape. I mean... Not like she lost her shape. You know. But all the others are animals!"
The Fifth Spirit wanted to sigh again at her ramble, but she widened her eyes in shock. "Are you insinuating that the giants are animals?"
Kristoff winced next to her, and Anna blushed deeply. She didn't mean to disrespect the entities, especially since Elsa explained her that she technically was the Fifth Spirit too.
"No, no, of course not, it's not what I... Nevermind." She blabbered, and continued to unpack the wagon next to her family.
They didn't add anything and helped her unpack the wagon. Once their gifts for the Northuldra were disposed in the camp, the ground suddenly trembled.
Anna gasped and instinctively crouched and cowered, afraid that a Giant had come to crush her. She eventually stopped squinting and relaxed her features at the just as sudden stop, and widened her eyes when she saw several Northuldra looking behind her with smiles.
The Queen turned around and saw that a Giant had approached and was reaching out to her. But instead of balling his fist to punch or slam her, he was holding something as tall as her in his palm. She blinked and looked at it, then at Elsa, who was chuckling. Olaf excitedly clapped his hands, and Kristoff smirked at the Giant's gift.
The gentle Giant drew a huge smile, and deposited the newly-made gargoyle on the ground. It was composed of several stones of different sizes added in a pile, like a cairn. It was a miracle that it stood, and maybe magical, but it was beautifully made. Anna recognized it as a specialty from the Giants, and was very touched.
"Aw, thank you so much!" She beamed, and passed a hand along the stone of one of the Giant's fingers.
She then widened her eyes, and turned to Kristoff. "Wait. How the hell are we going to bring that home?"
