This is an updated and revised version of the original version of the story. So, some events changed and some have not, still not completely certain on that.
This is the first fanfiction that I've ever written. A few things you might need to know before reading this fanfic:
My favorite fanon is that Danny is a genius but since he has a lot to do it rarely shows.
I made the Fenton's neglectful of Danny more so than Jazz, but they do acknowledge Jazz a lot more frequently than they do Danny.
And all ghosts know who Danny is, in and out Phantom form and have a high respect for him, even his enemies. They also know who Danny's friends are and respect them too to some extent. The Mansons are horrible parents and hate Sam. The Foleys are the MVP's and pay attention to the trio but not so closely that they can't ghost hunt. (But between you and me they totally know that they ghost hunt.)
Phantom planet did not happen and there are a few things I moved up in my timeline depending on what I felt like. Although I am not 100% sure on when certain events occurred.
Disclaimer- I DO NOT own Danny Phantom or its character but I do own the stories plot and some character. And I do not own any character name that you see in my story that you see in others just to cover that as well.
Danny sits up sweating profusely, the last sequence of his dream replaying in his head.
"They will ALL know."
He rolls over looking at the clock beside his bed. '5:00 a.m.' Danny groans inside his head flopping back down on the bed. Never had the four blue walls of his room felt more suffocating. Not even the glow in the dark stars on his roof provided him any comfort. Deciding that he wasn't going back to sleep any time soon he gazed at the photos he had tapped to the wall beside his bed.
His attention strayed to photo hanging by itself. It was one of his fondest memories. The three of them standing in front of a Christmas tree at the Foley house. Sam was in the center holding back laughter, her purple lips forming something between a smile and a grimace. Her amethyst eyes were alight with mischief and mirth. She wore a purple crop top with black mesh covering her arms and stomach paired with tight purple jeans with black skulls decorating the right leg tucked into her signature combat boots, her hair swept back in a low ponytail with a few strands framing her face. Tucker stood on Sam's left side with a grimace on his face, his body slightly angled away from the goth girl. He wore a mustard yellow T-shirt with brown jeans and boots, his red beret clutched to his chest away from Sam whose arm was out stretched to grab it. Danny himself was standing on the right of Sam looking at his friends with a fond look. His dark blue long-sleeved shirt, black basketball shorts, black converse, and messy hair making it seem as though he just woke up; the only contradiction was the wide smile on his face.
"Danny!" His sister calls loudly from down the stairs.
Danny groans rolling out of his bed onto the floor. Landing face down on his carpet. "What Spazz!"
He jumps into a fighting stance as his door gets slammed open and shut rapidly. "What the hell Jazz!?" He spits out annoyed as he relaxes his stance.
"There's cameras." She says with panicked eyes.
Danny gives her a flat look as he walks toward his bathroom. Shaking his head, he wets his fingers and runs them through his hair. Looking at his sister through the mirror he makes eye contact, raising a brow as if asking her to explain.
"There are cameras. Everywhere!" She repeats in a semi-calm tone.
Danny makes a face, "Why?"
"A show of some kind about Amity Park."
"Am I the focus?"
"No, I don't think so."
"Then we'll fade into the background. Simple," he says around his toothbrush, shrugging off his sister's incredulous look. He spits into the sink, "No one pays attention to us anyway so it'll be easy." He pauses to gargle water and spit, "Well maybe not Sam but me and Tuck definitely can easily go unnoticed."
"Danny," Jazz groans, "you're not thinking. Ghost, Amity Park, Danny. Ghost!" She stresses to him.
He blinks heading to his closet, "Oh, Fenton's."
"Yes, Danny. We'll have cameras on us because of our parents."
He shrugs again ignoring her. Rifling through his closet he finds an outfit for the day, a blue long sleeve shirt, black flannel, and dark blue jeans he grabs some socks and underwear before heading back to the bathroom to take a shower.
"You're impossible!" She huffs stomping out of the room leaving a smirking Danny behind.
***(***
Jack and Maddie Fenton sat at the kitchen table tinkering with one of their many inventions. A camera man stood across the room from them against a wall, out of the way of everyone and everything
Danny strolls down the stairs with his clothes on, the sleeves of his flannel being rolled back to his elbow showing the blue sleeves of the shirt under it. He stops to grab his black sneakers putting them on and lacing them up. He heads to the kitchen ignoring his sister who sat in the living room on the couch talking to a cameraman. He sends a message on his phone before sliding it back into his pocket. Reaching the kitchen, he ignores his parents heading to the minifridge on the left of the cameraman. He grabs yogurt, a granola bar, and a water bottle shutting the fridge and turning to leave the room. He opens the granola bar shoving half of it into his mouth as he goes to exit the room.
"Danny Boy!" Jack Fenton booms startling the cameraman.
"Dad," Danny replies flatly, chewing and swallowing the food in his mouth as he come to a stop in front of his parents.
Jack beams looking at the camera, "This is my son Danny! He's 15-"
"16."
"16 and goes to Casper High the school that you all will see later!"
"Now Jack," Maddie pipes up softly lowering the hood of her jumpsuit, "let Danny introduce himself."
"Right, Maddie! Go on son!"
Danny turns to the camera with a flat look, eyes flickering to something out of frame. "Danny Fenton, 16."
"Danny, do you need a ride to school? I'll drop you off before heading to the library." Jazz announces her presence. She wore her long orange hair tied into a neat ponytail complimenting her dress shirt, vest, dress pants, and flats well.
"No, we're going earlier than usual today," he answers shortly breezing out of the room.
"That's our Danny! Doesn't say much and loves to be alone! Except for his friends, that is." Jack explains to the camera.
His wife hums, narrowing her eyes after the boy who pops his head into the doorway of the kitchen. "There's a floating pancake in the living room," he disappears again.
Said pancake floats into the kitchen, "I am Pan and I will conquer this house!" The green pancake cries out as it gets shot by Maddie who wasn't looking at it.
"...who made pancakes?" Jazz mutters as she reaches for the minifridge.
"I wanted to test out the Fenton Pancake Maker!" Her dad shows off the product proudly.
"That's a normal pancake maker." The camera man observes.
"Yes," Jack starts with a frown.
"But it has the word Fenton on it," the family finishes in one voice with varying stages of excitement.
"Bye." Danny calls from the living room and not soon after the door closes.
"Your son sure seems to not like this idea," the cameraman tells the parents.
"Hmm," Maddie hums, "our son?" The way she says it makes it sound like she was unsure. "Oh! You mean Danny, oh no trust me he is enjoying this.
Danny sighs as he exits the mad house that he calls his home checking his watch to see what time it was. "I'm late!" He quickly ducks behind a dumpster to transform and flies into the sky. He smiles feeling the breeze dance along his face. Spotting Sam standing on the sidewalk in front of her house angrily tapping her foot on the ground as she taps aggressively on her phone.
"You're late." She informs him not looking up from her phone. She starts walking in the direction of the school ignoring the sigh Danny lets out.
A camera pans to the passing pair who ignores it all together. They meet with Tucker at an intersection waiting for the walk sign. They conversate between themselves ignoring everyone else around them. They cross the street bumping into a black girl and a red headed girl.
"Oh," the black girl says upon noticing them, "hey guys. Why are you going this early?"
Sam waves in acknowledgment while Danny grunts and Tucker smiles.
"Trying to avoid all this," Tucker explains gesturing to the camera following them closely. "Have you been introduced yet?" Tucker asks the girls with a smile, amusedly side-eyeing the camera that was following them at a distance.
"Yeah, it was weird." Michelle reveals
"More than weird, it was annoying and uncomfortable."
"April stops over reacting you mess around with a camera basically all day." Her friend counters rolling her eyes.
"Okay and?" The black girls says, "That's different."
Tucker laughs softly under his breath ending the conversation as the group joins with a larger group of students making their way to school. The large group of teens all filter into one another as they approach the school. Many of the students seemed unsure of what to do with themselves as the cameras pointed at them, causing many awkward scenes. The school came into view and the pace of the group sped up quickly, filtering through the doors of the school, breaking off to find their friends, go to class, or go to early morning meetings.
April and Tucker continued the conversation they were having about who was most likely to be rejected from the filming. "Personally, I think I have a high chance." The boy reveals smugly.
April scoffs rolling her eyes in disbelief, "Oh please. If anyone is getting ignored it's me and Michelle. Mikey and Nathan, maybe, and maybe Kelly. Dylan is too much of an idiot to not make good TV, add Kira in with him and it's a Romcom."
"Accurate observation," he looks to his left when Sam's hand was seen in his prereferral. She was gesturing around them to all the cameras seemingly following them to their homeroom. "What was breakfast today?"
"Iced Coffee and Tornadoes."
"Bacon or sausage."
April gives him a look dragging Michelle away by her arm upon noticing Kira and Felicity waiting at her locker.
The cameraman follows after the girls leaving the trio to their own devices.
Danny hikes his ratty blue backpack higher on his shoulder as they approach his locker. Tucker quickly puts in the combination, pulling it open and dumping his backpack inside it. Danny does the same, frowning at Sam who was focused on her phone. He makes sure to grab his yogurt and water bottle, shoving them both into Sam's cross body purse.
"This shitty show is going to cause so many problems. My parents literally said that they had no children. Gram is so disgusted by them and Selina got registered for school, no thanks to them, so I have to pick her up after, I think." She checks her phone again, "Yeah, I have to pick her up."
"Go blonde and they'll claim you," Tucker laughs quickly turning it to a cough as a particularly strong jab to his side surprises him. Danny laughs softly under his breath at his friends' antics wrapping an arm around each of their shoulders. "We can definitely swing to the elementary school to pick up the little Manson."
Danny's eyes found the scene of Mikey excitedly talking to a camera while glancing at him. He makes eye contact with the red headed boy, quirking an unseen eyebrow. The scrawny boy quickly says something to the cameraman before scrambling off down the hallway. "This year will be interesting." Humming softly as the group continues on their way down the hall, looking over his shoulder at a cameraman who gapes at them in awe. He didn't know why the man was looking at them so amazed nor did he care to know, all Danny knew was that he definitely was taking a nap before homeroom started.
Author's Note: At the end of the chapters, I'm gonna try and explain a little bit to clear up as many confusions as possible.
SO, I went through and made some changes that I felt went better with the story and realized that, wow, when I was writing this, I did not make any sense at all. So, like I said before, this story starts at the beginning of their sophomore year of High school. There are a lot of original characters but only so that I have room to flush all the characters out to their full potential. And to make some things seem realistic so I don't always have to write some random student said, ya know? So, a lot of the background characters will be getting names no matter how fleeting that character is/was.
Sam's sister Selina Manson popped into my head after I woke up from a nap so I put her in. It did cause a small re-write to a few chapters that I haven't posted yet but it's all good.
Jazz and Danny are not that close, I mean they're siblings but not the kind that are closeknit. So apparently Danny is summer baby but I'm probably going to change that. Their relationship is trained simply because the older Fentons show Jazz more attention.
I actually have to check when Danny's birthday is but let's say he is 16.
Many of the things that you will learn about the trio and the other citizens of Amity Park are through the fan comments and observation.
