AN:/ Welcome to my new story Rising of the Phoenix. I was working on Lupin Love, but I was having horrible writers block, and have removed the story. I felt bad for leaving you all hanging. This story has been on my mind for a while so I wanted to try and get it out there. I will also be trying to post this on AO3 under the name JamioneLover. I hope you enjoy the first chapter of Rising of the Phoenix. I don't own the rights to Harry Potter that belongs to JK Rowling.
Hermione's Point of View:
I lay in wait in my little chateau in Venice, Italy. I knew they would be coming soon. I could sense the dark magic coming towards me. I began thinking about what had happened a few weeks prior. The line had been divided and we were all standing on the battlefield. All of the horcruxes had been destroyed, Voldemort was finally mortal. All Harry had to do was defeat him and the prophecy would be fulfilled. And, we would all finally be free! The dark side made a path and my world froze over when Voldemort was standing there, or what was left of him after tearing away his humanity. Red eyes beat at us. 'No' were the only thoughts running through my head.
He looked at us victory in his eyes, and I knew it was finally the end before the words were out of his mouth. "Harry Potter is dead!" he proclaimed looking at our side. I could hear screams and cries. No one wanted to believe his words! My best friend, my brother, my everything was gone. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I knew without a doubt he spoke the truth. I could feel it in my core. Harry was gone! "I will graciously let you join us and live or die." he says to us all and waves his hand to the right, and before us comes Hagrid tears falling down his face. A limp and very dead Harry in his arms. My world stopped spinning when I seen what he said was true. Harry Potter was truly dead.
At first no one moved. I think we were all still in shock. The light, the Order of the phoenix had truly lost the final battle. Neville limped forward, "Harry may be gone but his memory will live on we will fight you till our dying breath! Darkness shall not prevail" he proclaims.
He shot off the first spell. And, he was the first to fall. Many lives were lost that day, but the darkness still won. I had escaped after Ronald had fallen. I might not have loved him like many thought but he was still my best friend. And, when he had fallen I had nothing left to fight for in the wizarding world. And, like a coward I ran. I had hid in the muggle world for a week, but they found me. They always seemed to find me. Maybe it was the muggle-born trackers the ministry had activated. They had snapped all muggleborns wands, if they didn't show to the ministry to have the minds wiped and their wands snapped they were hunted and killed. We were stealers of magic, and dirty blooded. We were no better than them, or at least that's what they wanted us to think. A few witches and wizards were taken as pets to the death eaters. I had heard from the grapevine Minerva was chosen for Voldemort himself. I also heard a rumor that I was to be taken for Draco Malfoy. As if I would let that ferret ever touch me. Now I wait, but I didn't have to wait long before the door was blasted and before me stood Draco and Lucius Malfoy. "Well done Draco you found the precious mudblood. Now girl the Dark Lord you have two choices. Be a pet for my son," Lucius starts, and Draco has a lustful evil look in his eye. I didn't feel anything, I was just numb. "Or die, the choice is yours." he sneers at me.
He looks like I have ruined his day just by being in his presence. I looked him straight in the eye. I could feel death already welcoming me like an old friend. Maybe I was sensing Harry and Ron. "I would rather die than be your son's bitch" I say to him, my head straight forward not crippling under his sterling gray eyes.
I could see Draco looked disappointed but shrugged. I wouldn't give them the benefit of looking weak in front of them. Draco raises his wand. "See ya in hell Granger Avada Kadavra." he sneers. I see the green coming towards me but my eyes never leave Draco's. And, then it was all over.
The last of the Order of the Phoenix had fallen. Hermione Granger was finally at peace.
But like a phoenix that has passed a new one will always rise from the ashes!
AN: I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I know that is not how the battle happened in the books or movies, but that is how it went down in this fanfiction. And I know a lot of you don't like a weak Hermione but she will get stronger in future chapters! I hope you give this a chance! I will be updating soon! ~DracoLoverForever1994!~
