(Several dramatic angles are shown of Matt Fudo's Duel Runner, Fudo Go, before the lights turned on and the Duel Runner, driven by Matt, tore out of its garage and down the road as the title appeared spray painted on a brick wall)
Yu-Gi-Oh! 6D's: Legend of the Six Dragons
(After the title, we get an aerial view of New York City before seeing Matt Fudo hanging around an alleyway junkyard. Michael Atlas then appeared on his Duel Runner, Wheel of Fortune, around a much cleaner and more populated area. After the two stared at each other, we witnessed James R, Hogan (or sometimes called J.R. for short), riding through the parks on his Duel Runner called Blackbird. From there, we see our next three signers, Carlie Izayoi, David Xadashi, and Lisa Drake each going about their business as Zack Ruaka appeared to be going over some paperwork regarding his friends.)
Just you and me, watching day and night as life continues to fly.
Never truly known, how our world will ever change the vision we see.
Our Freedom at reach, gotta break on through to grasp it.
No hold backs. No worries. All that matters is chasing dreams.
(In seconds, we see a rising panel of rivaling enemies for our heroes… Those opponents were the three male students of Blue Cosmos Duel School; Orga Sabnak, Clotho Buer, and Shani Andras—along with their ruthless headmaster Muruta Azrael. In addition, there was Vincent Stevens, a bully from David's past. Finally, there was a blonde-haired young woman named Sherry LeBlanc standing beside her own Duel Runner, Sturm und Drang, and she had a connection to Carlie's past. Most of those people did not seem to be trustworthy. As Matt continued his drive, visions of many of many of his cards passed through his helmet until, with a determined stare, Matt called out these monsters; 'Junk Warrior', 'Nitro Warrior', 'Road Warrior', 'Turbo Warrior', 'Seven Swords Warrior', 'Drill Warrior', 'Stardust Assault Warrior', 'Stardust Charge Warrior', and finally 'Stardust Dragon'.)
Always held back. Never really feeling free.
Time to break the chain, take my hand, and just fly; the future's within reach!
(After that, we get brief visions of our heroes' friends and families… They were Discord J. Crawford, David's friends Sean Smith and Janice Kings, as well as his Little Sister Gabriella, Lisa's friends and classmates at the Orb Duel School, Asagi Caldwell, Mayura Labatt, and Juri Wu Nien, along with their teacher Erica Simmons and fellow Orb teacher Ledonir Kisaka. There was also Megan Haw, a female journalist who seemed to be following Michael around with a heartstruck look in her eyes and a notepad in her hands, and finally there was both Paul Truman, an arrogant police officer who blamed Matt for being transferred, and Maria Strienhart, a female police officer and Paul's assistant. From there, we witnessed the Duel Runners of the Six Signers speeding along the highway before turning off and going down a special race lane designed specifically for Turbo Dueling.)
Driving down the road of life, feeding my need for speed.
Lanes are changing as we race on through as though we were wind.
(After a few impressive maneuvers on their Duel Runners, David, Lisa, James R., Carlie, Michael, and Matt all held a card up and Summoned their six ace monsters respectively; 'Life Stream Dragon' (David), 'Ancient Fairy Dragon' (Lisa), 'Black-Winged Dragon' (James R.), 'Black Rose Dragon' (Carlie), 'Red Dragon Archfiend' (Michael), and last but not least 'Stardust Dragon' (Matt).)
We may hit roadblocks along the journey, slowed down by pressures of fear.
But then the moments pass. And what is next is for us to kick to Hyperdrive!
(In the dark, the six birthmark signs of the Crimson Dragon appeared along with a rather stately-looking man named Rex Godwin. But what would his intentions be? From there, the six Signers returned, dressed in their riding gear, getting ready for a big Turbo Duel tournament as the title returned one last time.)

Title: A Rivalry Reunion
Opening up within SFO Airport, it was a busy place to be at the moment; people were coming and going. Currently, a group of five youths and their guardian were all preparing to board a flight heading for New York City…
-The first was a 20-year old young man with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. He attire consisted of a long-sleeved blue jacket with a high collar and amber gems, over a sleeveless black shirt with a red symbol, and wore gloves below his elbows with an amber gem on them. His lower body consisted of black jeans with amber knee pads, a belt with two Deck holsters hidden under his jacket, and calf-high motorcycle boots.
-The second was also a 20-year old young man, but with spiky lime green-colored hair and purple eyes. His other accessories include a neckband, a belt buckle, and earrings in the shape of the letter A, the first letter of his last name. His main attire consisted of a long white trench coat lined with purple with spiked shoulders over a white plunging shirt, a gray undershirt, gray pants, and white boots.
-The third was a 19-year old young woman with shoulder-length brown hair and black eyes. Her attire consisted of a purple t-shirt with a blue jean jacket over the shirt, purple shorts, and boots.
-The fourth was a 19-year old young man with short dark brown hair and brown eyes. His attire consisted of black jeans, a orange t-shirt, and a sleeveless brown cargo vest.
-The fifth was the oldest of the five youths; a 21-year old young man with short black hair, black eyes, and glasses. His attire consisted of a white and blue jacket with a yellow trim and front pockets, a blue t-shirt with a large white stripe placed horizontally, blue jeans, and a pair of blue-outlined white sneakers.
-The group's guardian was a smartly dressed young man, aged 27, with short black hair, and was wearing a red business suit with a black dress shirt underneath (and a bow-tie) the red coat and pale white dress pants.
"Well, this is it, you guys," The first young man remarked, "We're on our way to New York City."
"New York, New York!" The second young man smirked, "You just gotta love the sights of that city."
"You got that right," The lone young woman agreed, "The museums, the Statue of Liberty, the music-"
"And don't forget all of the hot dogs and pizzas!" The third young man interrupted, thinking all about both the world famous New York hot dogs and pizza, "Mmm… Hot dogs… Pizza…"
"Ugh… James, can't you think about anything other than food?" The fifth young man asked in disgust.
"Aw, come on, Zack, lighten up," complained James R. Hogan, as he was named, "Aren't you even the slightest bit curious to know what a New York-style hot dog or pizza tastes like?" He looked at the young woman standing beside him, "Carlie, you agree with me, right?"
"I admit they do sound tasty, but seeing the way you eat makes me feel queasy," grimaced Carlie Izayoi, as she was named.
"With that said, I rest my case," remarked Zack Ruaka, as he was named, smugly, folding his arms and looking at the pouting James R., "You know I'm right."
"And besides, most of us will be competing in that Duel Monsters tournament hosted by Rex Godwin," The first young man, named Matt Fudo, reminded his two slightly younger friends, and slightly older friend.
"Got that right, mate," agreed Michael Atlas, as he was named, watching as some men were carefully loading his Duel Runner, Wheel of Fortune, onto one of the jets, "Oi! Be careful with my Wheel of Fortune!"
"Y-Yes, Master Michael!" The nearby men obeyed.
Other Duel Runners being loaded aboard were Fudo Go (Matt's Duel Runner), Bloody Kiss (Carlie's Duel Runner), Blackbird (James R.'s Duel Runner), and a normal-looking one (Zack's Duel Runner). Once they, along with the luggage, were loaded aboard…
"Come along, you five," The creator of Duel Monsters, Discord J. Crawford, requested, "It's time for us to board. We have a long flight from California to the state of New York. We'll be making a landing in 'Dallas - Texas' before we continue with the flight."
"You can say that again," agreed Carlie.
"On the bright side, at least we'll have some entertainment to last us until we arrive," reassured James R..
"You mean like TV and video games?" deadpanned Zack.
This resulted in an argument between the two young men as they and their friends and guardian boarded the plane. Soon, the extremely expensive plane owned by Discord was running down the runway before lifting off into the sky.
(inside…)
Within the jet, Matt, Michael, James R., Carlie, Zack, and Discord were seated and waiting for their arrival at John F. Kennedy Airport. While most of those passengers talked, only one such passenger remained silent, and that was…
"Say, Matt," said Carlie, "Did you look up on who Rex Godwin is last night?"
Matt didn't say anything.
"Hey, Matt, did you hear me?"
The dirty blonde-haired young man then turned to look out the window.
"Matt?" quizzed Carlie.
"Just let him be with his thoughts," shrugged Michael, "I'm sure we'll find out who this Rex Godwin guy is when we go and register for the tournament."
And so, nothing more was said on the matter.
(outside…)
Outside the plane, Matt continued to look out at the lovely blue sky as he and his friends tried to enjoy their flight and not think about what this new tournament was going to be like. Pretty soon, the Industrial Illusions jet was out of sight.
(elsewhere…)
At the city of 'Manchester - England', a group of five was gathered outside a moderate-sized house, loading bags and other various items into a large van parked outside…
-The two adults were a Japanese man with dark blue hair and green eyes, and a British woman with light orange hair and blue eyes. The man wore an unbuttoned black blather over a black-trimmed cream sweater, blue jeans, brown shoes, and a pair of glasses. The woman was dressed in an off-shoulder white top with a red splatter-like pattern on her chest with five white asterisks with a black tank top underneath, a dark green jacket with a faux fur trimmed hood, black short shorts, black thigh high socks, and black knee-high boots with buckles and studs at the top.
-Next was a 17-year old boy with red hair and light blue eyes. He was dressed in a dark red jacket with matching trousers and boots, a light gray undershirt, and a pair of red lens glasses.
-Standing beside him was a 17-year old girl with long blonde hair with purple streaks down the back and magenta eyes. She wore a black dress with red sleeves, black tights, and red buckled shoes.
-The lone child was a 6-year old Japanese/British girl with light orange hair done up in two pigtails with red butterfly hair clips and blue eyes. She wore a blue turtleneck under a pink and red sleeveless dress, red socks, and pink shoes.
"Oh, where is he?!" The red-haired boy complained, "The flight leaves in two hours!"
"Just relax, Sean," The teenage girl spoke up as she loaded a suitcase into the luggage compartment before climbing into the vehicle to move a few things around, "You and I both know he wouldn't miss this."
Sean Smith, as he was named, just sighed in response and continued waiting with impatience for the final member to arrive. The young girl, meanwhile, tugged at the coat of the adult woman as though she had a question.
"Is David coming, Mama?" The young girl asked innocently.
The orange-haired woman smiled down at her daughter, "Oh, of course he is, sweetie. You know how your brother is; triple checking everything beforehand," she reassured, before looking over to Sean standing nearby, "Why don't you go help Sean and Janice with the bags?"
"Triple checking?" groaned Sean, rolling his eyes, "More like he's quadruple checking…"
"Here's a thought, Sean!" The voice of the lone teenage girl, Janice Kings, called out from inside the van. This time, the female voice sounded pretty irritated with the needless whining, "Instead of complaining about how long Dave's taking, why don't you go inside and help him out?! At least it would give you 'something' to do…!"
But just as she finished speaking, the front door of the house burst open and out came a 17-year old teenage Japanese/British boy with aqua blue-colored hair and green eyes. He was wearing a purple unbuttoned jacket with a blue shirt underneath, a pair of dark blue trousers, black boots with purple trims, and computer-style glasses. Adorning his arms were two gauntlets that were linked to a set of glowing upper arm bracelets.
"My apologies, everyone!" The teenage boy, David Xadashi, panted, "Had to ensure that all essential items were accounted for."
Sean just glared and tapped his watch at David in an agitated manner, causing the latter to wince slightly from what was to come next.
"Do you know how long we have until our flight for New York City leaves?" scowled Sean, "Two hours… There are also a whole bunch of things we have to do at the airport before we can board the plane."
"Now, now, Sean, don't be like that," The Japanese man, named Ren Xadashi, said calmly, "That's just how David rolls; he has to make sure he has everything," He then looked to his son, "You have your Deck, right, son?"
"Present and accounted for, Dad," replied David, holding his Deck up, "I'll load it up into The Wild Card."
With that being said, David walked over to the nearby motorcycle (Duel Runner) and inserted the Deck into the holding compartment of the vehicle and closed it up tight.
"Are we all set?" Ren asked everyone present, to which they all gave nods of confirmation, "Then let's get going!"
Once everyone was seated in the van, and David was seated on The Wild Card, they then proceeded on their way to the airport.
"New York City, here we come!" The voice of Sean cheered.
(elsewhere…)
Within the city of Hartford in the state of Connecticut, a small group of youths (three young women and a lone teenage girl), their teacher (a woman), and another teacher (a black young man) were outside a large academy of sorts in the parking lot and getting ready to board their Duel Runners for a long drive to New York City…
-The lone teenage girl, aged 17, had pink hair and brown eyes. She wore a motorcyclist suit consisting of an orange/white mecha pilot-like suit with white gloves, white boots and knee/shin guards, and white/orange helmet with a faceplate.
-The first young woman, aged 18 and the leader of the foursome, had chin-length, wavy blonde hair and blue eyes. She wore the same motorcyclist suit as the teenage girl.
-The second young woman, aged 18 and who had a tomboyish demeanor (just like the teenage girl), had short, ear-length red hair and purple eyes. She also wore the same motorcyclist suit as the teenage girl and first young woman.
-The third young woman, aged 18 and was the smartest and second-in-command of the four female duelists, had shoulder-length dark blue hair, amber eyes, and wore pink wire-framed glasses. Similar to the teenage girl and the other two young women, she wore the same motorcyclist suit—with the only difference being she wore her glasses underneath her helmet.
-The lone woman, aged 32, had brown hair and gentle blue eyes. She wore a different-looking motorcyclist suit mixed with colors of peach pink, bright pink, white, and black with white gloves, white/pink/black boots, and carried a white/pink/black helmet with a faceplate under her right arm.
-The black young man, aged 27, had shoulder-length gray hair and gray eyes. His motorcyclist suit was similar to the woman's, but his was clearly designed for males and instead had colors of light green, bluish gray, and white.
"Are you four ready?" The woman asked carefully, "You have your Decks and luggage ready, yes?"
"Yes, ma'am," The three young women answered in unison.
"Hell yeah!" The teenage girl proclaimed loudly, "I'm ready to enter this tournament and win big!"
"Lisa!" The third young woman scolded, "Be more respectful to Ms. Simmons!"
"Oh, come on, Juri, you guys should be used to me by now!" protested Lisa Drake, as she was named, "Besides, aren't you excited to compete in such a tournament, too?"
"Of course, I am," insisted Juri Wu Nien, as she was named, "But we still need to speak politely around our teachers, you know."
"It's perfectly alright, Juri," smiled Erica Simmons, as she was named, "I'm perfectly alright with Lisa's way of speaking. And besides… if I remember correctly, Asagi sometimes slips up with her own mouth from time to time."
"Hey!" argued Asagi Caldwell, as she was named.
"Relax, Asagi, Ms. Simmons was kidding," The second young woman, named Mayura Labatt, reassured. She then looked to the black young man, "Mr. Kisaka, are you sure you wish to accompany us to New York City?"
"It's my duty, Mayura," answered Ledonir Kisaka, as he was named, "Headmaster Zimmerman would never forgive himself if anything bad were to happen to you all, and honestly neither would I."
"Well, the more, the merrier!" said Lisa brightly, "Now, what do you say we get this show on the road—road trip style!"
Asagi, Mayura, and Juri each cheered loudly, while Ms. Simmons chuckled slightly and Mr. Kisaka shook his head while cracking a small smile. From there, the six turned to their respective Duel Runners and climbed aboard with their respective belongings. While the three Astray girls rode their different colored M1 Astrays, Lisa instead rode on her own customithed M1 Astray called Strike Rouge. Both Ms. Simmons and Mr. Kisaka also rode different designed versions of M1 Astray called Murasame; it retained several colors to Asagi's M1 Astray, but was more heavily armored in a way, and despite the added bulk it was known to be faster than most M1 Astrays built by the Orb Duel School.
"Ready?" began Mayura.
"Ready!" confirmed Juri.
"In that case, Turbo Duel…" added Asagi.
"…Acceleration!" finished Lisa, Ms. Simmons, and Mr. Kisaka at the same time.
All six Duel Runners finally took off out of the parking lot and down the road, therefore beginning the small group's journey from Hartford to New York City.
(elsewhere…)
Over in New York City, the bright late morning sun shined brightly… Being one of the biggest, busiest cities in the world, there was life all around the city—people roaming around, entering and exiting restaurants, malls, museums, and other such stores, buying food from stands, buying souvenirs, visiting parks, you name it.
(elsewhere…)
Outside the NYPD headquarters, a gruff-looking man, aged 42, with black hair with graying streaks, and a young woman, aged 27, with short black hair were approaching the main entranceway.
"The New York Police Department," The gruff-looking man, named Paul Truman, grumbled, "Good Lord! I can't believe I got transferred all the way out here…"
"I'm sorry to have to say this, but it serves you right," The young woman, named Maria Strienhart, pointed out, "Arresting a child framed for a crime? That's going much too far."
"I know, I know… You don't need to keep reminding me of that," groaned Paul, bringing a hand to his forehead and shaking his head. In his mind, as he looked up into the sky… "I blame that Matt punk… He got me into trouble in the first place… If I ever encounter him again, I'll make sure to have him arrested and rendered a pariah to the dueling world…"
That sounded like a terrible threat or promise to me…
(elsewhere…)
Over at John F. Kennedy Airport, it was one of THE busiest airports in the world. Planes were coming from different parts of the world, and they were also going to different parts of the world. One such plane in-question was a certain jet belonging to Industrial Illusions, and it had finally arrived after spending a day in 'Dallas - Texas' to refuel.
"Hellooooo, New York!" The voice of James R. cried out from inside the jet.
(elsewhere…)
Inside John F. Kennedy Airport, Matt, Michael, Carlie, James R., Zack, and Discord all emerged from the tunnel into the busy section of the building
"And here we are," announced Discord, "The Big Apple itself."
"Man, this airport is huge," admired Matt.
"It should be, Matty-boy; John F. Kennedy Airport is one of the biggest airports in the world."
"So, what should we do before heading into the city itself?" asked Carlie.
"I vote to get some lunch!" exclaimed James R..
"Hungry again?" quizzed Zack, raising an eyebrow.
"Hey, can I help it if breakfast on the jet wasn't very filling?" retorted James R..
"In that case," said Discord, gleefully rubbing both hands together, "We'll go and eat at one of the airport diners."
James R. rejoiced, "Yes!"
And so, the group from San Francisco started to make their way to a diner for something to eat. As they traveled through the airport, it was starting to get more and more crowded with people.
"Oh man… There's so many people around here…" grimaced Matt, "It's getting harder to-"
*SMASH!*
By complete accident, he accidentally bumped into somebody and knocked 'em over. Some of the people nearby were concerned with what just happened. The person in question was none other than David Xadashi, accompanied by Sean, Janice, and his family, who rushed to help him up.
"David, are you okay?" Futaba cried out.
"(お兄ちゃん!) O nīchan! (Big Brother!)" David's sister, who was named Gabriella, added, speaking in Japanese briefly.
The aqua blue-haired boy winced as he rubbed the top of his head, just before being approached by Matt.
"You okay there?" he asked kindly, offering a hand, "I should have watched where I was going."
"I am quite fine," replied David, accepting the help up.
"No way!" gasped Janice, upon seeing Discord J. Crawford himself, "You… you're the creator of Duel Monsters himself!"
"The one and only," confirmed Discord, smiling at being recognized.
"Then that also means…" Sean realized, looking at Matt, Michael, Carlie, James R., and Zack, "…you five are his adopted children!"
"Correction, we five are not 'children' anymore," corrected Zack.
"Well, what do you know?" grinned Ren, looking at Team 4D's with admiration, "This is certainly a surprise. Only a few minutes into the United States and already we meet some celebrities."
"You know, we're not 'that' famous," insisted James R. modestly, "Well, unless you're somebody like Matt or Mike."
"You're not from around here, are you?" asked Michael.
"We're from the United Kingdom," explained Futaba, "Our oldest son, David, was chosen by somebody named Rex Godwin to compete in a new Duel Monsters tournament here in New York City."
"What a coincidence, so were we!" commented James R..
"Really?" pondered David.
"Really," said Carlie, "Hey, why don't you all join us for lunch? We're going to one of the diners in this airport."
"Oh, how kind of you to offer," smiled Futaba, "We're all feeling hungry, so I think that can be arranged."
"Splendid!" praised Discord, "The more, the merrier."
David was about to say something, but decided against it. After all, these people were being kind in offering him, his family, and friends to join them for lunch, and he couldn't say no to that. Regardless, despite remembering the words of his idol, David still was ways away before he was ready to fully embrace the friendship of new faces.
(elsewhere…)
Within one of the airport diners, everyone was seated at different tables:
-Table 1: Matt, Michael, David, and Sean
-Table 2: Carlie, James R., Zack, and Janice
-Table 3: Discord, Ren, Futaba, and Gabriella
"So, Dave, how good of a duelist are you?" pondered Matt.
"I was a rather inauspicious beginner at first," explained David, "But, with time, and study, I nurtured my skills to be where I am today."
"Pretty much always how the best turn out," remarked James R., "Start out small and work your way up."
"Not when you lose your first duel to a bully," Sean pointed out.
"Huh?" pondered Carlie, looking over.
"Indeed… my primary adversary Vincent Stevens," said David glumly, "Or as he was more well known by, 'The level-up King'."
"The level-up King?" blinked James R..
"That was Vincent's self-proclaimed title before he lost to Dave in a school tournament," replied Janice.
"Hmph! So we see," huffed Michael, after hearing how bad Vincent was towards David, "Anyone who must say 'I am King' is no true King at all."
"Gee, that kind of reminds me of somebody who used to behave like that before losing his title," chuckled James R., leaning over and nudging his friend's side, "You know who I mean, right, Mike?"
"What?! Why you-!"
This was met with laughter from some of the others at the tables.
"In all seriousness, no one deserves to be picked on, though," Matt pointed out, offering words of comfort to David, "It's best not to let that kind of behavior get you down… Eventually, you'll continue to grow stronger as a duelist. Hey, here's an idea; we can take you under our wings while you're here for the tournament."
"I welcome your words of encouragement, Fudo-san, but it's not that effortless for somebody with my history to receive," sighed David, shaking his head.
Matt was surprised, "Hold on," he pressed on, "Why not?"
"Well, you see… it's incredibly difficult for me to place my trust in others," continued David, "Make no mistake, this gesture you've made to me and my peers is most appreciated, but I'm really just here to compete, not to socialize."
"So, what you're saying is that you're going to judge the rest of the world just because some people picked on you?" asked James R., not too amused, "You know, that's really unfair if you ask me. Not everyone's out to get you. But if you blindly turn your back on everyone without getting to know them, that makes 'you' the bad guy."
"That's what 'we've' been telling him," groaned Sean.
"Even after meeting his idol and promising to give other people a chance, he still has yet to do so," complained Janice, "We're getting really worried that he might 'never' make any new friends and end up becoming an outcast for the rest of his life."
"But giving up on him and calling him a coward is not the way to handle it," Ren pointed out, reminding Sean of his hurtful words towards David.
"I know, I know… But it still sucks," said Sean, looking a little frustrated, "Why can't you just let it go, Dave?"
"I wish I could, Sean, but things like that take a long time to heal from," remarked David, "If you were in my shoes, would you be acting the same way?"
"No," denied Sean, "I mean, sure it would still be a bother to me, but 'I' would get over it and give people the benefit of the doubt 'before' casting judgement on people I don't even know."
"Then let me ask you this," offered Zack, "If you were to be emotionally traumatized from being picked on others for being different, would you possibly not be open to other people? Wouldn't you find it difficult to trust someone you don't know after being criticized for not being just like everybody else?"
That question caused Sean to immediately hush up and realize that Zack had a fair point, while David couldn't help but feel impressed that the black-haired young man managed to stun his best friend into silence.
"We understand if you're not ready to accept friendships from new people yet," comforted Matt, "So, would you like to think of us as allies 'instead' of friends for now?"
Noting the sincerity in those words, David managed to smile and respond with the following…
"I actually would like that Fudo-san," he accepted sincerely.
"In that case, how about after lunch you come along with us for a ride around Brooklyn?" offered Carlie.
"Um… I'm not sure about that…" said David nervously.
"Come on, it'll be lots of fun!" grinned James R., "Plus I'd like to see what your Duel Runner looks like—I bet it looks super sweet!"
"But what about my-?" David started to say, but was interrupted.
"Your family and friends can come with me," offered Discord, "I can take them to a hotel with a limo I had ordered before coming here."
"A limo?!" gawked Sean, "You ordered a limo?!"
"He is a billionaire, Sean," Janice pointed out. Regardless, even she looked excited at the thought of riding in a limo, "Still, a limo ride with the creator of Duel Monsters sounds like such a treat!"
"So, don't worry about us, sport," reassured Ren, looking at his son, "You head out and enjoy yourself, alright?"
"(これにより、彼らのスキルが実際に動いているのをよりよく見ることができます…) Kore ni yori, karera no sukiru ga jissai ni ugoite iru no o yori yoku miru koto ga dekimasu... (This could allow me to better see their skills in action…)" thought David, before looking at Matt, "Very well, I shall accompany you and your comrades for an excursion."
"A good choice, mate," praised Michael.
"And our Duel Runners should be finished getting unloaded by this point," added Carlie.
"In that case… waiter!" called James R., "Check please!"
And so, everyone paid for their meals.
(elsewhere…)
Outside the airport, Discord, Matt, Michael, Carlie, James R., Zack, David, Sean, Janice, Ren, Futaba, and Gabriella all emerged from the busy building. The sun was still shining brightly, and there were thousands of cars out there either parked, coming in, or leaving. Not only that, both Michael and Carlie had changed out of their normal outfits and into their respective motorcyclist suits:
-Michael's was a white form-fitting motorcyclist suit with a similar design to his coat, as well as a white helmet with a green visor and a purple peak.
-Carlie's was a form-fitting, red motorcyclist suit with a black undershirt, along with an enclosed helmet, and boots.
"If this isn't what John F. Kennedy Airport is like, I don't know what is," whistled Ren.
Gabriella then noticed something nearby and happily ran away from Futaba.
"Gabriella, come back here!" she called, going after her daughter.
Thankfully, the young girl didn't get very far; she stopped near a line of Duel Runners in order to admire them.
"These look so (驚くばかり!) odoroku bakari! (awesome!)" whooped Gabriella, slipping into Japanese at the end of her sentence.
Matt chuckled, "Well, good work," he remarked pleasantly, "It looks like you found our Duel Runners."
"These are…your Duel Runners?!" asked David, having never seen such cool-looking Duel Runners in his life.
"Yup," confirmed James R., "Here we have Fudo Go… Wheel of Fortune… Bloody Kiss… and my Blackbird!"
"And mine's just a normal Duel Runner, but I'm still proud of it regardless," finished Zack.
"Well, Dave's Duel Runner should be around here someplace…" said Sean, looking around for something, "Let's see… Ah ha! Found it!"
Nearby, some men were carefully wheeling David's Duel Runner, The Wild Card, up to where the remaining Duel Runners were lined up at.
"May I present 'my' Duel Runner, The Wild Card," explained David, walking over to the Duel Runner and laying a hand on the dashboard, "Dad helped me build it."
"Whoooa… High tech…" commented Zack, getting up and close with The Wild Card.
"Dave has really good technical knowledge," admitted Ren, laying a hand on his son's shoulder, "Of course, he did get it from me."
"And I sometimes give him a hand with any such projects," added Sean.
David merely smiled modestly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Come on, let's go and see the city!" requested Carlie excitedly.
With that agreed to, she, Matt, Michael, James R., Zack, and David all slipped their helmets on, climbed aboard their respective Duel Runners, and revved them up a bit.
"Now, you stay close to those five, David," warned Futaba.
"If you want to find us, we'll be waiting at this hotel," added Discord, handing Matt a slip of paper with the name of the hotel and the address it was located at, "You all have a good ride."
"We will, Dad," replied James R., before driving away first.
Before long, the remaining Duel Runners took off down the expressway, leaving Discord, Sean, Janice, Futaba, Ren, and Gabriella all behind.
"Now, come with me," Discord said to the folks from the United Kingdom, "We'll take that limo to the hotel."
From there, David's family and two friends all followed Discord towards the limo nearby. Standing by the front seat of the vehicle was a suit.
"Master Discord," The suit bowed, turning and walking to the back of the limo before opening the door, "Please get in, sir, and fellow guests."
"Hurray!" cheered Gabriella.
(elsewhere…)
As Team 4D's and David traveled down the expressway through Brooklyn, they could see just how many things you could do in a huge American city like New York City.
"Whoa! Look at how many stores there are!" breathed Carlie.
"Movie rental stores, clothing stores, food stores, you name it!" added James R..
"There must be hundreds of these places," finished Zack.
While the six Duel Runners roared down the expressway, another Duel Runner was shown driving on one of the upper street levels. This rider, whoever it was, kept her face hidden away due to a dark tinted visor on the helmet, which was modeled to look like that of a Knight's helmet. After a few seconds, the mysterious rider tore down the road and jumped off the edge of the street towards the six heroes on the expressway.
"Look out!" cried David, being the first to notice the new arrival.
The new Duel Runner landed behind Fudo Go, and the mysterious rider suddenly drove up and tried to knock Matt aside.
"Hey!" exclaimed Matt, as he and his Duel Runner fell behind.
"Matt!" called Michael, before turning to the mysterious rider, "Damn you! Who do you think you are?!"
The rider said nothing back, and instead drove up and tried to knock Wheel of Fortune aside. Before long, the rider had passed all of the other Duel Runners before catching up to Bloody Kiss and its rider.
"What's the big idea attacking my friends?!" demanded Carlie angrily.
"Duel me!" The mysterious rider, speaking with a French accent, demanded.
"What?!"
"I said duel me!" The female rider repeated aggressively, "I challenge you to a Turbo Duel in this busy section of the city!"
Carlie scowled, "Fine!" she accepted, before turning to David, Zack, and James R., "You three go and help Matt and Mike! I'll handle this duelist!"
"You got it!" accepted James R., flashing a thumbs up.
"You can do it!" added Zack.
"Izayoi-san!" protested David.
"Just do as I say, please!" instructed Carlie, looking at David sternly.
From there, David, Zack, James R. each went back to check up on Matt and Michael. Once she was alone, Carlie pressed a button on the dashboard of Bloody Kiss.
"Duel Mode, engaged," came a computerized voice aboard the Duel Runner, "Autopilot activated."
Immediately, Bloody Kiss drove down an exit after the enemy Duel Runner. There was less traffic around the streets, so it wouldn't be nearly as dangerous as dueling on the busy, traffic-filled expressway.
"I don't know who you are, but I won't let you get away with attacking my friends like that!" warned Carlie (LP: 4000).
"I will show you no mercy!" The mysterious rider declared (LP: 4000), before drawing a card, "It's my turn!"
Turn One: Mysterious Rider (LP: 4000)
Deck: 54
Current Hand (6): "Sacred Knight's Spearholder", "Horn of Olifant", "Polymerization", "Apprentice Knight", "Floral Shield", and "Horse of the Floral Knights"
Her drawn card was a Monster Card called 'Horse of the Floral Knights', and the rest of her hand contained 'Sacred Knight's Spearholder', 'Horn of Olifant', 'Polymerization', 'Apprentice Knight', and 'Floral Shield'.
"I Summon 'Horse of the Floral Knights'!" The female rider declared, placing her card onto her Duel Runner.
Appearing onto the field was a horse dressed in a Knight's armor and golden helmet (Level: 3/ATK: 400/DEF: 800).
"My monster's effect activates!" The mysterious rider announced, drawing a card, "When this card is Normal Summoned: I can draw 1 card."
Her drawn card was a Monster Card called 'Fleur Synchron'. Nodding, the female rider added the card into her hand and took another to play.
"Next, I'll activate the Spell Card 'Polymerization'!" As the mysterious rider spoke on, she placed the card onto her Duel Runner, which resulted in the 'Polymerization' Spell Card materializing face-up on the field. She then held another card ('Sacred Knight's Spearholder') before sending it and the 'Horse of the Floral Knights' Monster Card both to the GY at the same time, "Using this card, I'll fuse 'Horse of the Floral Knights' with the 'Sacred Knight's Spearholder' in my hand!"
Briefly appearing onto the field was a red-haired woman dressed in a Knight's armor and holding a large spear. Before long, she and 'Horse of the Floral Knights' flew into the Fusion Vortex above the Duel Runner.
"Come forth, 'Centaur Mina'!" The voice of the mysterious rider commanded.
Appearing onto the field, upon the end of the Fusion Summon sequence, was a red-haired centaur woman carrying a sword in one hand, and a shield in the other (Level: 6/ATK: 2200/DEF: 1600). As the two Duel Runners roared down the road, several people took notice of the Turbo Duel, but were unable to make heads or tails of it.
"I'll Set one card and end my turn!" The mysterious rider finished, slotting a card into her Duel Runner.
On the monitor of Bloody Kiss, it was displaying the 'Centaur Mina' Fusion Monster Card and a face-down card on the opponent's field, much to Carlie's concern.
"It's my turn!" The brown-haired young woman announced, drawing a card, "Draw!"
Turn Two: Carlie Izayoi (LP: 4000)
Deck: 54
Current Hand (6): "Copy Plant", "Dark Rose Fairy", "Rose Flame", "Twilight Rose Knight", "Wall of Thorns", and "Blooming of the Darkest Rose"
Immediately, she added the drawn card into her hand and took another one from it.
"I Summon 'Twilight Rose Knight'!" exclaimed Carlie, placing the card onto her Duel Runner.
Appearing onto the field was a young, light blue-haired Knight (Level: 3/ATK: 1000/DEF: 1000).
"When this card is Normal Summoned: I can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Plant monster from my hand," explained Carlie, taking another card ('Copy Plant') from her hand. She then placed the card ('Copy Plant') onto a Monster Zone on her Duel Runner (sideways), "From my Deck, I'll Special Summon 'Copy Plant'!"
Appearing onto the field was a brown plant-like creature with two branches for arms (Level: 1/ATK: 0/DEF: 0).
"If a Tuner(s) is Special Summoned (except during the Damage Step): I can Special Summon this card from my hand," continued Carlie, before placing yet another card onto her Duel Runner, "Come, 'Dark Rose Fairy'!"
Appearing onto the field was a small woman with light green hair and wearing a gown made from black rose petals (Level: 2/ATK: 800/DEF: 1000).
"I tune Level 2 'Dark Rose Fairy' into Level 3 'Twilight Rose Knight'!" Carlie declared, before holding her right hand upward.
'Twilight Rose Knight' jumped into the air and turned into three Synchro Rings, which 'Dark Rose Fairy' flew into before turning into two orbs of light. Very briefly, the symbols 2 + 3 = 5 were shown before the orbs turned into a beam of light that shot out of both ends of the Synchro Rings.
"Synchro Summon!" declared Carlie, "Appear now, 'Garden Rose Maiden'!"
Appearing onto the field, as the Synchro Summon sequence ended, was a blonde woman wearing a white gown that looked like it was made from white rose petals (Level: 5/ATK: 1600/DEF: 2400).
"Tch!" The mysterious rider muttered.
"I activate the first monster effect of 'Garden Rose Maiden'!" said Carlie sharply, drawing a card ('Black Garden'), "If this card is Special Summoned: I can add 1 'Black Garden' from my Deck or GY to my hand," After adding the card into her hand, she went on with her tuning strategy, "From there, I tune Level 5 'Garden Rose Maiden' into Level 1 'Copy Plant'!"
'Copy Plant' turned itself into a single Synchro Ring, which overwhelmed 'Garden Rose Maiden' and turned her into five glowing orbs of light. The symbols 5 + 1 = 6 were shown briefly as a Summon Chant followed…
"Hunter of splendid thorns hidden in the sacred forest, with your whip of punishment in hand, come forth now!" chanted Carlie, just as the orbs turned into a beam of light, "Synchro Summon! Appear now, 'Splendid Rose'!"
Appearing onto the field, as the Synchro Summon sequence ended, was a blonde-haired human woman of sorts dressed in an outfit that resembled that of a rose, with the red rose petals near her feet, and her green outfit, which was meant to resemble the rose's stem, had one half a darker shade of green (Level: 6/ATK: 2200/DEF: 2000).
"Allez au diable," The female rider growled in French.
"I activate 'Splendid Rose's' first effect!" announced Carlie, about to go over her monster's effect, "Once per turn: I can banish 1 Plant monster from my GY, then target 1 face-up monster my opponent controls; I must halve that target's ATK, until the end of this turn," She took a card ('Copy Plant') from her GY and held it out, "By banishing 'Copy Plant', your 'Centaur Mina's' ATK is cut in half!"
'Splendid Rose' summoned a pair of thorny vines which slashed at 'Centaur Mina', causing her to grow weaker (ATK: 2200 → 1100).
"With your monster now weakened," Carlie went on, entering the Battle Phase, "I'll use 'Splendid Rose' to attack 'Centaur Mina'!"
'Splendid Rose' obeyed, spinning greatly and diving towards 'Centaur Mina', intending to kick her.
"Like I would let you!" The mysterious rider snapped hotly, as her Set card reappeared on the field beside her, flipped face-up, and revealed itself, "I activate a Trap, 'Floral Shield'! When an opponent's monster declares an attack: I must target the attacking monster; I must negate the attack, and if I do, draw 1 card."
'Splendid Rose' struck the shield wielded by 'Centaur Mina', forcing her back near Bloody Kiss. From there, the female rider drew a card, pleased that she stopped her opponent's attack.
"I'm far from finished," As she spoke, Carlie readied three cards in her right hand and slotted them into her Duel Runner at the same time, "First, I'll Set three cards face-down…"
Three Set cards materialized on the field, just before fading away for later use.
"…and then activate a Field Spell from my hand!" exclaimed Carlie, while slotting one more card into her Duel Runner, "'Black Garden'!"
From there, the scenery around the both Turbo duelists began changing into a huge garden covered in vines. This wasn't lost by the people watching nearby.
"When a monster is Normal or Special Summoned, except by the effect of 'Black Garden': I can halve its ATK, then the controller of that monster Special Summons 1 'Rose Token' in Attack Position to its controller's field," explained Carlie, "And now, I'll end my turn! As a result of that, your 'Centaur Mina's' ATK returns to 2200!"
True to her word, 'Centaur Mina' felt her lost strength return (ATK: 1100 → 2200).
"You haven't lost your touch," The mysterious rider commented coldly, drawing a card, "It's my turn!"
Turn Three: Mysterious Rider (LP: 4000)
Deck: 51
Current Hand (5): "Horn of Olifant", "Fleur Synchron", "Apprentice Knight", "Mystical Space Typhoon", and "Noble Knight Artorigus"
Her drawn card was a Monster Card called 'Noble Knight Artorigus'. However…
"Now that it's your turn," Carlie cut in, as one of her Set cards reappeared on the field beside her, flipped face-up, and revealed itself, "I'll activate a Continuous Trap, 'Rose Flame'! Each time a Plant monster(s) is Summoned to my opponent's field: I must inflict 500 damage to my opponent."
The mysterious rider uttered something profane in French. Rather unfortunate, but Carlie still wasn't done yet…
"Not only that, I'll also activate 'Blooming of the Darkest Rose'!" As she said that, a second Set card reappeared on the field, flipped face-up, and revealed itself, "I must Special Summon 'Rose Tokens' in Defense Position to either field, up to the combined number of cards in the Field Zones and Field Spells in the GYs."
"In that case, I'll do something about one of your cards!" The mysterious rider interrupted, taking and holding a card ('Mystical Space Typhoon') out, "Quick-Play Spell, 'Mystical Space Typhoon', activate! I must target 1 Spell/Trap on the field; I must destroy that target. I will target your Field Spell, 'Black Garden', and destroy it!"
From there, a giant cyclone swept across the field, destroying the face-up 'Black Garden' Spell Card near Bloody Kiss and causing the field to return to being part of New York City.
"The effect of 'Blooming of the Darkest Rose' will continue as normal!" insisted Carlie, "Seeing as there are no cards in the Field Zones and one Field Spell in the GYs, I can Special Summon 1 'Rose Token' onto your field in Defense Position!"
Appearing onto the mysterious rider's field was a large rose (Level: 2/ATK: 800/DEF: 800).
"And from the effect of 'Rose Flame'," Carlie went on, "you'll take 500 damage as a Plant monster was Special Summoned!"
The face-up 'Rose Flame' Trap Card fired off several flaming rose petals at the mysterious rider and her Duel Runner, causing her to cry out as her LP took a hit (LP: 4000 → 3500).
"Ce n'était rien!" The female rider snarled in French, before taking and placing a new card onto her Duel Runner, "I Summon 'Fleur Synchron' in Attack Position!"
Appearing onto the field was what appeared to be a mechanical flower bulb with limbs and eyes (Level: 2/ATK: 400/DEF: 200).
"I tune Level 6 'Centaur Mina' into Level 2 'Fleur Synchron'!" The mysterious rider continued, before clenching her right hand into a fist and swinging it about, "Behold my revolution!"
'Fleur Synchron' turned itself into two Synchro Rings, which overwhelmed 'Centaur Mina' and turned her into six orbs of light. The symbols 6 + 2 = 8 were shown briefly as a Summon Chant commenced…
"Body born from the speed of light, the time for revolution has come! Bring victory into my grasp!" The mysterious rider chanted, just before the orbs of light erupted into a beam of light, "Synchro Summon! Sparkle, 'Chevalier de Fleur'!"
Appearing onto the field from a flurry of flower petals, was a female warrior with a large red cape and a sword sheathed by her hip, and a pink, flower-like helmet on her head (Level: 8/ATK: 2700/DEF: 2300).
"'Chevalier de Fleur'!" gasped Carlie, while in her mind… "This monster seems so familiar to me…"
"Now, I'll activate the special effect of the 'Fleur Synchron' in my GY!" The female rider announced, taking a card from her hand, "If this card is sent to the GY as Synchro Material: I can Special Summon 1 Level 2 or lower monster from my hand," She placed the card ('Apprentice Knight') onto a Monster Zone on her Duel Runner, "I Special Summon 'Apprentice Knight' in Attack Position!"
Appearing onto the field was a female Knight with short brown hair (Level: 2/ATK: 1000/DEF: 1000).
"Bataille!" The mysterious rider yelled out in French, "'Chevalier de Fleur', attack 'Splendid Rose'!"
'Chevalier de Fluer' obeyed, drawing her sword, and diving into battle.
"I activate a Trap, 'Wall of Thorns'!" announced Carlie, as her final Set card reappeared on the field behind Bloody Kiss, flipped face-up, and revealed itself, "When a Plant monster I control is targeted for an attack: I must destroy all Attack Position monsters my opponent controls."
Suddenly, a huge wall of thorns appeared in front of Carlie and her monster.
"Oh no, you won't!" The mysterious rider hollered in anger, "'Chevalier de Fleur', go and destroy that card!"
From there, 'Chevalier de Fleur' raised and slashed her blade through the wall of thorns, destroying them instantly.
"How?!" gasped Carlie.
"the effect of 'Chevalier de Fleur'," The mysterious rider said in fury, "Once per turn, during my turn, when my opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card (Quick Effect): I can negate the activation, and if I do, destroy that card."
Carlie did not like hearing that, and 'Chevalier de Fleur' soon turned her attention right back to 'Splendid Rose'.
"Fleur De Orage!" The voice of the female rider screamed out.
From there, 'Splendid Rose' was slashed by the blade of 'Chevalier de Fleur', causing her to shatter like shards of glass. Carlie braced herself as some of those shards flew past her (LP: 4000 → 3500).
"My Battle Phase has not ended!" The mysterious rider pointed out, "'Apprentice Knight', attack the opposing player directly!"
'Apprentice Knight' obeyed, slashing at Carlie with her blade. The brown-haired young woman grimaced as Bloody Kiss was pushed back a little bit and her LP went down again (LP: 3500 → 2500).
"This woman…" she thought to herself, "She's relentless!"
Soon, the mysterious rider's Duel Runner caught up with Carlie and Bloody Kiss, managing to pass and gain a lead.
"Now, it's your turn!" The mysterious rider dared harshly.
Carlie narrowed her eyes and drew a card. She couldn't put her finger on it, but there seemed to be something faintly familiar about this rider…
Turn Four: Carlie Izayoi (LP: 2500)
Deck: 52
Current Hand (1): "Witch of the Black Rose"
Her drawn card was the 'Witch of the Black Rose' Monster Card; it was a good start to retaking control of the duel.
"I Summon 'Witch of the Black Rose'!" announced Carlie, placing her card onto her Duel Runner.
Appearing onto the field was a female Spellcaster with long, purple hair, and a staff in her hands (Level: 4/ATK: 1700/DEF: 1200).
"The effect of this monster activates!" explained Carlie, drawing a card, "When this card is Normal Summoned: I must draw 1 card and reveal it, then, if it is not a monster, destroy this card."
The card drawn was the 'Rose Fairy' Monster Card.
"Show yourself, 'Rose Fairy'!" commanded Carlie, placing her card onto her Duel Runner.
Appearing onto the field was a small female fairy that looked like a rose in appearance (Level: 3/ATK: 600/DEF: 1200). Although nobody could see what was on the mysterious rider's face, she did manage to let out a grunt of agitation over the upcoming move by her opponent.
"I don't know who you are, but you should have known better than to challenge me!" boomed Carlie, "I will show you the true power of my Deck!" She pointed forth, "I tune Level 3 'Rose Fairy' into Level 4 'Witch of the Black Rose'!"
'Witch of the Black Rose' turned into four Synchro Rings which 'Rose Fairy' flew into, turning into three orbs of light as Carlie began a Summon Chant…
"Chilling flames engulf the entire world. Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom!" Carlie chanted in a surprisingly chilling tone. From there, the three orbs of light within the Synchro Rings turned into a massive beam of light, "Synchro Summon! Appear now, 'Black Rose Dragon'!"
Appearing from the beam of light and into the sky, was the dragon littered with rose-like features (Level: 7/ATK: 2400/DEF: 1800). With 'Black Rose Dragon' out, Carlie was about to turn things around.
(elsewhere…)
Somewhere in another part of New York City, the limo Discord ordered was driving on the Brooklyn Bridge towards Manhattan. Not surprisingly, the heavy amount of traffic made the travel very slow—not that the people inside the limo minded this.
(inside…)
Inside the limo, both Sean and Janice were looking out the window in amazement.
"Whooooa! What a city!" beamed Sean.
"It's almost as big as London!" added Janice.
"Actually, London is a bit bigger than New York City population wise," corrected Ren.
"Oh, yeah…" remembered Janice sheepishly.
Discord smiled, "So, are you all enjoying the ride?" he asked, "Go on, give me your honest opinion."
"It's so wonderful," admitted Futaba.
"I think you're the best, Discord-senpai!" added Gabriella.
"Oh, no need to get all formal on me," laughed Discord, "Discord is just fine, little girl."
Ren was about to say something when he heard a ringtone in his jacket pocket. Knowing that it was his cellphone, he took it out and answered it.
"Hello?" asked Ren.
"Dad! It's David!" The voice of David responded back, "We've come across a great dilemma!"
"David?" frowned Ren, while Futaba looked scared for her son, "What happened?"
"This enigmatic rider tried running us off the road, and now Izayoi-san is dueling against the unknown enemy," explained the voice of David, "We don't know what to do!"
"Hold on," requested Ren, who then looked over to Discord, "Mr. Crawford, my son and your kids have encountered some trouble! Carlie is now engaging somebody in a duel somewhere in the Brooklyn area."
"Oh no!" cried Discord, "We should do something!"
"How about calling the NYPD?" suggested Janice.
Ren nodded before returning to the phone, "Hang tight, David," he said, "We're going to call the police, now!"
"Thank you, Dad," The voice of David finished, before hanging up.
"(お兄ちゃん…) O nīchan… (Big Brother…)" whispered Gabriella, clearly scared for her beloved Big Brother.
(outside…)
The limo continued making its way across the Brooklyn Bridge towards Manhattan.
(elsewhere…)
Back in a part of Brooklyn, 'Black Rose Dragon' flew above Bloody Kiss.
"I activate 'Black Rose Dragon's' first effect!" announced Carlie, "When this card is Synchro Summoned: I can destroy all cards on the field."
The mysterious rider winced, "All cards, did you say…?"
"Yes!" From there, Carlie, waved her right arm about, "'Black Rose Dragon', sacrifice yourself and destroy every card on the field! Black Rose Gale!"
'Black Rose Dragon' let out a tremendous roar as a fierce wind began sweeping across the field.
"Que diable?!" The female rider spluttered in French, trying to brace herself from the wind.
Soon, 'Black Rose Dragon' exploded into a swarm of rose petals, taking every other card on the field with it.
"You could have attacked me," The mysterious rider pointed out, "Why would you make such a waste of a move? You have no cards in your hand, and nothing left to protect you once I Summon a monster next turn."
"I wonder about that…" replied Carlie, which caused her opponent to ease up. She then gave a command… "Return to me, 'Black Rose Dragon'!"
All of a sudden, 'Black Rose Dragon' reappeared on the field in a swarm of rose petals.
"What?!" The mysterious rider cringed, "'Black Rose Dragon' has…"
"I've activated the second effect of the 'Garden Rose Maiden' in my GY," said Carlie, taking a card ('Garden Rose Maiden') from her GY and allowing it to fade away into oblivion, "I can banish this card from my GY, then target 1 'Rose Dragon' monster or 1 Dragon Synchro Monster in my GY; I must Special Summon it."
The Battle Phase commenced, and 'Black Rose Dragon' immediately charged a blast of fire.
"Take this!" The voice of Carlie shouted, "Black Rose Flare!"
'Black Rose Dragon' obeyed, firing the charged up blast towards the mysterious rider, striking her Duel Runner head on.
"MERDE!" The female rider shouted profanely in French, taking very heavy damage (LP: 3500 → 1100).
The heavy LP loss allowed Bloody Kiss to pass the rider's Duel Runner once again.
"So, what now?" taunted Carlie, "Are you ready to call it quits?"
"Why you-!" The mysterious rider growled, before drawing a card, "It's my turn!"
Turn Five: Mysterious Rider (LP: 1100)
Deck: 50
Current Hand (3): "Horn of Olifant", "Noble Knight Artorigus", and "Angel Baton"
Without wasting a second, she slotted her card into the Duel Runner.
"And now!" The female rider proclaimed, "I activate the Spell Card, 'Angel Baton'!"
The mentioned Spell Card materialized face-up on the field in-front of the rider's Duel Runner.
"I must draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card!" The mysterious rider explained, drawing two cards and then discarding one card ('Noble Knight Artorigus'). She then saw that her hand now contained 'Horn of Olifant', 'Chain Close', and 'Lady of the Lake', "Good! I've drawn what I need!"
"Did she draw something dangerous?" thought Carlie.
There was only one way to find out…
"Now, I'll Summon 'Lady of the Lake'!" The mysterious rider announced, motioning her right arm about.
Appearing out of an invisible pool of water and onto the field, was a maiden with long, blonde hair (Level: 1/ATK: 200/DEF: 1800).
"When this card is Normal Summoned: I can target 1 'Noble Knight' Normal Monster in my GY; I can Special Summon that target," The mysterious rider explained, going over her monster's first effect. She held her right hand out again, "Come, 'Noble Knight Artorigus'!"
Appearing onto the field was a strong-looking male warrior with short blonde hair (Level: 4/ATK: 1800/DEF: 1800).
"Now, I tune Level 4 'Noble Knight Artorigus' into Level 1 'Lady of the Lake'!"
As the above command for tuning was given, 'Lady of the Lake' rose up into the air and turned into a single Synchro Ring, which 'Noble Knight Artorigus' jumped into before turning into four orbs of light. The symbols 4 + 1 = 5 were shown for only a few seconds before the orbs of light in the Synchro Ring then turned into a beam of light.
"Synchro Summon!" The female rider yelled, "Come forth, 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn'!"
Appearing onto the field, as the beam of light burst apart, was a black-haired Knight wielding two blades in a dark armor (Level: 5/ATK: 2100/DEF: 900).
"No way…!" gasped Carlie, having a quick, mental flashback to when she was living at that orphanage, "I remember seeing a card like that! It was back then…"
"I'm not done," The mysterious rider continued, allowing a card ('Lady of the Lake') to emerge from her GY and fade away into oblivion, "If 'Lady of the Lake' is used for a Synchro Summon, I must banish it. Now! I'll activate the effect of 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn'! When this card is Synchro Summoned: I can equip 1 'Noble Arms' Equip Spell from my Deck to this card."
This was another familiar move to Carlie. The mysterious rider, meanwhile, drew a card, looked at it, and then looked up.
"The 'Noble Arms' Equip Spell I've chosen…" While talking some more, she held her card out, "…is 'Noble Arms - Clarent'! I can only control 1 'Noble Arms - Clarent'. Once per turn: I can pay 500 LP; the equipped monster can attack directly this turn"
A new sword materialized on the hands of 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn', who swung it once and posed after doing a loud shout. The mysterious rider then took a LP hit to activate one of the deadly effects of her card (LP: 1100 → 600).
"Now that I've paid my 500 LP," The female rider continued, "I will use 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn' to attack you directly!"
The dark Knight obeyed, diving over 'Black Rose Dragon', and slashing down at Carlie, causing her to yell out as she took damage (LP: 2500 → 400). Once she recovered from the attack, Carlie looked up and finally fully addressed her opponent as they rode side-by-side.
"Now I remember…" commented Carlie ominously, "You never stopped using that combo when we used to play together, haven't you… Sherry?"
From the mere mention of that name, the mysterious rider brought her right hand to her faceplate and made it rise, revealing the face of a young woman at the age of 20. There was a serious, cold look on her pretty face as she looked towards Carlie.
"It's been too long, Carlie Izayoi," said Sherry LeBlanc, as she was named, "Hmph! I'm quite surprised it took you this long to remember who I was, despite the fact I clearly remember 'you' so well."
"That's because I haven't seen you ever since we were children," remarked Carlie, "I've been through so much that I had little time to think about my past."
"That I'm aware of," Sherry sneered, taking two cards and slotting them into her Duel Runner at the same time, "I Set two cards face-down and end my turn!"
Two Set cards materialized on the field around Sturm und Drang (the name of Sherry's Duel Runner) before fading away for later use.
"Sherry…" thought Carlie, before drawing a card, "It's my turn!"
Turn Six: Carlie Izayoi (LP: 400)
Deck: 50
Current Hand (1): "Thorn of Malice"
Her drawn card caused her eyes to widen with realization; she had drawn exactly what she needed!
"It's here…" whispered Carlie, before turning to address her opponent, "Hey, Sherry! Let's see you counter this card!"
Sherry scowled, waiting to see what her opponent would do. Finally, a Spell Card called 'Thorn of Malice' materialized face-up on the field beside Bloody Kiss.
"I activate the Equip Spell, 'Thorn of Malice'!" began Carlie, "I will equip this onto 'Black Rose Dragon'!"
Vines with razor sharp thorns started coming out of 'Black Rose Dragon's' body as it let loose a loud roar.
"I must equip only to 'Black Rose Dragon' or a Plant monster," explained Carlie, "It gains 600 ATK."
'Black Rose Dragon' grew stronger (ATK: 2400 → 3000).
"And you expect me to take an attack from your powered dragon? How simply naive!" frowned Sherry, before poking a button on the dashboard of her Duel Runner, "I activate a Trap!"
A Set card reappeared on the field, flipped face-up, and revealed itself to be…
"'Horn of Olifant'!" The voice of Sherry went on, before holding up the fingers of her right hand, "I must activate 1 of these effects."
These were the effects printed on the Trap Card in-question:
-"I must banish 1 Equip Spell I control or in my GY, then I can destroy 1 card on the field."
-"I must destroy 1 'Roland' monster I control, then Special Summon in Defense Position up to 3 FIRE Warrior monsters from my Deck, whose total Levels equal 9, but their effects are negated, also, until the end of my next turn after this effect resolves, I cannot Special Summon monsters, except Warrior monsters."
"But you don't have any 'Roland' monsters!" reminded Carlie.
"I don't," acknowledged Sherry, "However, that leaves me free to use the first effect!" She pointed at her opponent, "By banishing 'Noble Arms - Clarent', I will destroy your 'Black Rose Dragon'!"
From there, 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn' thrust one of his blades towards 'Black Rose Dragon' with the intent to pierce it.
"Your 'Black Rose Dragon' is about to fall, Carlie!" declared Sherry.
"It's not over," interrupted Carlie calmly, before holding a card ('Blooming of the Darkest Rose'), "The second effect of my Trap Card, 'Blooming of the Darkest Rose', activates! If this card is in my GY: I can target 1 'Black Rose Dragon' or 1 Plant monster, in my Monster Zone; I must banish it, and if I do, place this card on the bottom of the Deck."
Before 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn' could destroy 'Black Rose Dragon', the Dragon Synchro Monster suddenly faded away in a blue streak, leaving the enemy monster without a target for its weapon. Carlie then shuffled her 'Blooming of the Darkest Rose' Trap Card into the bottom of her Deck.
"That maneuver of yours leaves you wide open for an attack next turn," reminded Sherry, while narrowing her eyes fiercely.
"I end my turn," finished Carlie, simply.
Sherry growled, "This duel ends, now…" she hissed, before drawing a card, "It's my turn!"
Turn Seven: Sherry LeBlanc (LP: 600)
Deck: 46
Current Hand (1): "Noble Arms - Gallatin"
Just then…
"And now," announced Carlie, as the sky started shining, "I'll bring 'Black Rose Dragon' back!"
In a flash, 'Black Rose Dragon' returned to the field.
"The final effect of my Trap Card, 'Blooming of the Darkest Rose'. During the next Standby Phase, I must return that banished monster to the field," continued Carlie, "So now, I'm no longer defenseless to your attacks!"
"Are you sure about that?" asked Sherry, holding out the card she had just drawn, "I equip 'Laundsallyn' with an Equip Spell, 'Noble Arms - Gallatin'!"
From there, a much shinier-looking sword materialized in the hand of 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn', causing him to grow much stronger (ATK: 2100 → 3100).
"I can only control 1 'Noble Arms - Gallatin'," explained Sherry, going over the first effect of the card before revealing the second effect, "I must equip only to a Warrior monster. It gains 1000 ATK. This gives my 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn' an ATK of 3100, which is higher than your 'Black Rose Dragon's' ATK of 2400!"
Carlie did not like the sound of that.
"Finally…" Sherry began calmly, "After all these years of waiting, I will get even with you! the way you hurt me back in the orphanage… I have never forgotten the trauma you left on me, Carlie Izayoi… No… 'Black Rose Witch'!"
"Sherry…!" stammered Carlie, horrified, having not heard that nickname in over a long time, "I…"
"Save your words for 'after' your defeat!" declared Sherry viciously, thrusting her hand into the air, "Bataille!"
However, just before she could call out her game-winning attack, the sound of police sirens filled the air.
"Huh?" gasped Sherry.
"The police!?" added Carlie.
Three police cars were beginning to catch up to the two Duel Runners. Inside one of the cars was Paul.
"Hey, you two on the Duel Runners!" he called out, poking his head out the window, "You are dueling in a Traffic Only zone! Pullover to the side, now!"
Sherry cursed silently, dismayed that she had to end the duel without defeating her opponent.
"It looks like this duel will have to be inconclusive," admitted Sherry, looking at Carlie.
"What?!" cried Carlie.
With that said, the holograms of both 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn' and 'Black Rose Dragon' faded away.
DUEL RESULTS: No results
"However, this will not be the last time you see me," Sherry LeBlanc warned, looking at Carlie one last time, "We 'will' meet again, and I 'will' pay you back for the trauma you left on me."
Instead of pulling over and stopping, she made Sturm und Drang move even faster, escaping into the distance. Carlie quickly stopped Bloody Kiss as the three police cars pulled up. Soon, Carlie was surrounded by six police officers, including Paul and Maria.
"Officers?" pondered Carlie.
"What's the big idea of dueling on a busy freeway?" demanded Paul gruffly, "Don't you have anything better to do than disrupt the flow of traffic and risk running people off the roads?"
"I-I'm sorry…" apologized Carlie, "I… I…"
"Hold on there, good sir," The voice of Discord echoed, causing the officers to look nearby. As expected, Discord, Ren, Matt, James R., and David all entered the area, "We have a good explanation for all of this."
Paul snorted, "Okay, let's hear it," he grunted, but the moment his eyes came upon Matt… "It's him! The punk who got me to where I am today! Rrrr! I will get him right now for the humiliation he left upon me!"
Maria, sensing what her boss was about to do, immediately smacked him on the shoulder and glared firmly, which was a clear warning for him to not make a scene and embarrass the NYPD. And so, Paul silently agreed to let it go (for now). While Discord chatted with the police, Carlie was busy talking to her friends.
"Carlie, do you know who that Duel Runner rider was?" asked Zack.
"I do," nodded Carlie grimly, "Her name is Sherry LeBlanc."
"Wait, that was Sherry?!" interrupted James R., while Zack recoiled in response.
"Now that's a name I haven't heard of in a long time," added Michael.
"Who is this 'Sherry'?" pondered David, who was completely out of the loop.
"She's a girl Zack, James, Carlie, and I knew long ago at an orphanage in California," explained Michael, "Back in those days, Carlie and Sherry used to be friends of sorts. Unfortunately, that was also a time where Carlie was also not in the best of control over her psychic powers. The other children were either scared of her or used to tease her about it. They even went as far as to call her a witch."
"We defended her as best as we could," commented James R., "However, we couldn't be everywhere."
"However, there was a pretty nasty incident back when Duel Monsters was first released," admitted Zack, "During a duel for fun-"
"No, Zack, let me finish this part," cut in Carlie, before looking at both David and Matt and continuing from there, "I'd rather not remember anymore of my past, but this is something you two definitely need to know. As Zack said, Sherry and I were dueling for fun outside on the playground…"
A flashback ensued.
FLASHBACK
Years ago, Young Carlie and Young Sherry, who was shown to have long blonde hair, both were playing Duel Monsters in the orphanage's playground. Young Sherry was winning at the moment, and she was being particularly boastful about it.
"What are you going to do, now?" she asked mockingly.
"I'll figure something out," Young Carlie told herself, "I will…"
"Well, unfortunately, you're out of luck! I'll equip my 'Noble Arms - Gallatin' onto 'Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn'!" continued Young Sherry, laying a card onto the grass, "this will make my monster more than strong enough to defeat your powered up 'Rose Tentacles' and finish off the remains of your LP!"
"Aww man!" cried Young Carlie, taking her card.
Unfortunately, Young Sherry was feeling so proud of her win that she didn't let up…
"I win again, Carlie," The blonde-haired young French girl bragged, "No matter how many times you challenge me, I will always win!"
"I did the best I could," said Young Carlie meekly.
"Ha! Not good 'enough' though!"
Sadly, the taunting went on, and Young Carlie eventually clenched her fists in frustration. It was this moment that she was sick and tired of Young Sherry's constant bragging. Suddenly, she felt her right forearm (with the unknown birthmark) beginning to glow. This was a sign her unstable powers were…beginning to kick in.
"What?!" cried Young Sherry, seeing what was going on.
"I have had it!" roared Young Carlie viciously, not realizing what she was doing.
All of a sudden, the whole area started to quake itself to pieces, causing the nearby children to scream in terror, while the orphanage caretakers tried to keep everyone calm and seek shelter for the earthquake. Nearby, Young Zack and Young Michael both saw what was going on with Young Carlie.
"What's Carlie doing?!" demanded Young Michael.
"Something tells me something's going wrong with her," answered Young Zack.
Over with Young Carlie, something started rising from the ground behind her. Young Sherry took a step back out of reflex. That something was the same 'Rose Tentacles' that Young Sherry destroyed in the duel. Too frightened to run away or even speak, Young Sherry could only shut her eyes and scream as 'Rose Tentacles' seemed to make a lung for her.
"Carlie! Stop!" The voice of Young James R. yelled.
Young Carlie's angry look softened when she heard her friend's voice, as the glowing birthmark on her right arm then ceased and 'Rose Tentacles' suddenly faded away. Almost immediately, the kids and orphanage caretakers all emerged from their hiding spots to see what had happened. Rather unfortunate, all eyes were on Young Carlie.
"You alright?" Young Zack asked Young Carlie.
"S-Sherry…" stammered Young Carlie, realizing what she almost did, "Sherry, I… I didn't…"
Without saying a word, Young Sherry, terrified and traumatized from the experience, got back to her feet and, while in tears, raced as far away from Young Carlie as possible without saying anything back to her. It would seem that this encounter had left a very nasty mental scar that would likely never heal itself. Judging from such a reaction, that was the end of Young Carlie and Young Sherry's friendship. Though it was her own fault for provoking Young Carlie, Young Carlie still felt sorry and couldn't help but blame herself for frightening the blonde-haired young French girl like that.
END FLASHBACK
The flashback ended.
"I blamed myself for almost hurting Sherry like that," said Carlie sadly, "I shouldn't have lost my temper. That incident only made the nickname 'Black Rose Witch' stick to me all the more so. I terrified almost everyone I tried to speak to after that."
"Yeah…" agreed James R. glumly.
"Zack, James, and I were Carlie's only friends since then," added Michael, "At least until we met Matt in San Francisco for that tournament."
"That sounds incredibly bias," argued David, "It was indeed 'Sherry's' fault. If she had been more honorable about her victory, none of those events would have occurred."
"That is true," mused Matt, "Although Sherry was probably too caught up in the moment to realize what she was doing and saying at the time."
"After the incident, I avoided Sherry for a long time, believing she would never talk to me again," continued Carlie, "However, I eventually decided to try and apologize to her—but then Discord showed up at the orphanage to adopt me, Zack, Mike, and James before I could do that. Ever since then, I received no letters from Sherry either wishing me well or seeing how I'm doing. She likely hated me ever since then."
"Something tells me that Sherry's carried such a grudge for most of her life," figured James R..
"The way she attacked us just to get Carlie to duel her…" added Zack, as faded images of Sturm und Drang trying to knock Fudo Go and Wheel of Fortune aside were shown around him.
"That shows just how vengeful and ruthless she's become," finished Michael.
Carlie frowned, not feeling any anger towards Sherry, but rather both pity and care.
"I don't hate Sherry after what she tried to do to us," The brown-haired young woman pointed out, "In fact, I feel sorry for her."
"You feel sorry for her?" gawked James R., believing he misheard those words, "But she tried to run us off the road! She could have killed us! I honestly hope she gets what she 'deserves' once we tell the police about her!"
"No, James," countered Carlie, not willing to do anything that would potentially increase her former friend's anger and hatred towards her, "No matter how long it takes, I'm going to try and help Sherry see the light again."
"Help Sherry?" repeated Matt, "I don't know about that…"
"A most precarious task," added David, grimacing a little bit, "What are the odds she will 'never' let that grudge go?"
"I have to at least try!" insisted Carlie, looking down slightly with a remorseful look on her face, "I owe her so much."
Before the conversation could go on, the police, plus Discord, all approached the group.
"After telling the police what's been happening, they've decided to drop the case," said Discord pleasantly, "You and whoever that duelist was are clear of any charges."
"Just don't let it happen again," warned Maria firmly, "Are we clear?"
"Yes, ma'am," promised Carlie.
"If you guys are looking for places to Turbo Duel, we have several such parks in the city," A police officer offered.
"Thanks for the information," nodded Matt, "Also, we're here in New York City to sign up for Rex Godwin's Duel Monsters tournament."
"Rex Godwin? Ah yes, our state's governor," A second police officer acknowledged, "He's a very kind, helpful man."
"He was recently elected for his first term," A third police officer added.
"So we see," commented Discord, "Well, I hope we meet with him as soon as possible. But, for now, we'll be heading for my New York mansion in Queens."
"Pardon my ignorance, but did you say you have a mansion here in New York City?!" spluttered David.
Discord laughed, "I have several mansions across the United States, Dave-boy," he pointed out, "New York City just so happens to have one of them."
"The main mansion is located in San Francisco," said Zack, "Discord also has mansions in Honolulu, Philadelphia, Boston, Portland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Richmond, Orlando, Miami, Kansas City, Seattle, Helena, Dallas, Houston, Tucson, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Buffalo, Denver, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Fresno, Sacramento, San Diego—need I go on?"
"Not really," declined Sean.
"He even has mansions in certain major cities of other big countries like Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, England, Scotland, Spain, Finland, Switzerland, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and-" rambled James R..
"Okay, okay! I think we all get the picture," interrupted Janice, "But still… Having so many mansions like that… You really 'are' that wealthy, Discord."
"Oh, I'm not 'that' wealthy, Janice," dismissed Discord, acting like he wasn't as rich as many claimed he was (when he really was that rich), "For now, let's make our way to the mansion. There, we can figure out our plans for tomorrow when we go to get Matty-boy, Mike, James, Carlie, and David all signed up."
"Can we have dinner there?!" asked Sean hopefully.
"Sure, Sean-boy," accepted Discord, "I'll order takeout for everyone!"
"Oh man! This is sweet!" rejoiced James R..
As everyone turned to return to their Duel Runners (and limo in the case for Discord, Ren, Sean, and Janice), Ren turned to speak to his son.
"Well, David?" he asked.
"This has been a pleasant experience," admitted David, smiling slightly, "These lot are not so bad after all."
"Well now! I'm sure your friends, Mom, and sister will love to hear that!" praised Ren, "I will definitely let them know when I get back to the limo."
Well, I do believe our heroes' time in New York City was going to be good, wouldn't you agree?
(elsewhere…)
Later on, driving across the Whitestone Bridge leading into the Bronx was Sherry on her Sturm und Drang. Currently, she was thinking about her duel with Carlie, and how it never ended properly due to the intervention of the police.
"I would 'ave won 'ad the police not intervened," thought Sherry, narrowing her eyes, "Knowing Carlie, she likely told her friends about me, but refused to let the police go after me," She shook her head, "She is far too kind-hearted to do something like that to me. however, our battle hasn't ended yet, Carlie. I will get even with you no matter 'ow long it takes!"
From there, Sturm und Drang drove down the bridge. How would Sherry encounter Carlie again? Maybe, just maybe—ah, but nope, I shall not give away such a spoiler!
(elsewhere…)
Later that night inside the NYPD headquarters, Paul and Maria both were in the break room, and the former grumbling to himself about how he had Matt right where he wanted, but then the latter stepped in and warned him to not try anything (in her mind) stupid. Getting himself a cup of coffee, Paul turned and saw one of the police officers sitting at the table reading a flier he found.
"What's that?" asked Paul with disinterest.
"A flier I found while out patrolling the streets today," The police officer replied, "It's to help promote Rex Godwin's new Duel Monsters tournament."
"Duel Monsters tournament?" pondered Maria, "I didn't even know Mr. Godwin loved the game."
"Pah! Everyone seems to have Duel Monsters on the brain!" scoffed Paul, taking the flier from his fellow officer and looking at it, "I swear, people nowadays seem to rely on playing Duel Monsters to determine important outcomes like they are law or something… It's a load of—hold on a moment…"
"Sir?" The police officer quizzed.
Paul didn't say anything back; he was too busy looking at the flier in his hand, getting an idea on how he could get back at Matt, and also arrest him, for the humiliation he (Matt) brought upon him (Paul).
"Sir, what are you planning?" frowned Maria, not liking the look on her boss's face.
Paul never answered. All he could think about was entering that tournament and defeating Matt in-front of everyone watching. Then, Matt would have no choice but to go with him to the slammer, forever a disgraced former dueling champion! To Paul, it was just the perfect plan… In fact, it was so perfect, that it would get him redeemed in the eyes of his superiors back in San Francisco!
"Sir, I hope you're not thinking what I think you're thinking," said Maria sternly.
"Perish the thought," dismissed Paul.
"Listen, I was hired by your boss in San Francisco to keep you from making a huge mistake," Maria went on, "If you go through with doing something this stupid, you and I would both potentially lose our jobs!"
"Hey, am I the kind of person who would be dumb enough to deliberately risk my job like that?" asked Paul.
"All I'm saying is for you to not go through with what you're thinking. We don't want to lose our jobs, right? The right thing to do is not enter that tournament and go after some young man who defeated you in a duel."
The gruff police officer snorted and looked back at the flier, which had a picture of a Duel Runner on it along with words about the upcoming Duel Monsters tournament. What was Paul's plan to get revenge? Well, it…might have something to do with the upcoming Duel Monsters tournament hosted by this Rex Godwin person. Stay tuned, folks, for this new saga is only beginning!
(After an aerial spin of the city roads, we bear witness to seven silhouettes consisting of Matt Fudo and his friends Michael Atlas, James R. Hogan, Carlie Izayoi, David Xadashi, Lisa Drake, and Zack Ruaka, just before the silhouettes were replaced with colorful chibi versions of the characters. After the chibis disappeared, we get to see the seven friends in different areas of the city… Matt was shown looking out at a nighttime version of the countryside, while Michael walked around in a rich and fancy district of a big city.)
The world we live in breathes in life, fresh from the minds and hearts of soul.
But do we ever think about where all of that soul comes from?
Far up above where we focus, there is a much stronger force.
We are guided through it daily, and kept alive thanks to it.
(With James R., he stopped at a traffic light to allow cars to pass by before the scene cut to Zack in a rather fancy library among books. We then cut to a Duel Disk as card versions of the seven main heroes appeared on the Monster Zones, but David and Lisa both were in the same card as well as both James R. and Zack in order to make room on the five Monster Zones.)
And it's all thanks to this great force, we get to live normal lives.
It helps us see everyday as a day where we can grant wishes.
(From there, Carlie walked alongside a flower garden as the sunlight returned. David and Lisa, meanwhile, were both shown enjoying a relaxing rest under the shade of a tree in a lovely meadow. Surprisingly, the rough and tough Lisa had cuddled up close to a blushing David.)
But there comes a time where our lives become threatened.
Bullies end up going as far as to crush all our hopes and dreams.
However, we have to try to ignore them.
Because the way they think about us does not matter at all.
(From there, the seven youths flew through space as we get to witness the Signer Dragons in all their glory; 'Life Stream Dragon', 'Ancient Fairy Dragon', 'Black-Winged Dragon', 'Black Rose Dragon', 'Red Dragon Archfiend', and 'Stardust Dragon'.)
Soar through the heavens, tear through the skies!
Lets breach the layer called Ozone.
Beyond the skies lies the truths we all need.
(We then pan over to the seven heroes inside a garage of sorts as James R. and Michael both got into an argument over Duel Runner calibrations, while Lisa, with her face becoming comically angry, complete with cartoon-like fangs popping out of her mouth and an anger pressure mark appearing on her head, was seen shouting and/or cursing out a window at somebody. Matt only shook his head in disapproval, while Carlie, David, and Zack each sweatdropped over how immature a few of their friends were being. Back in space, Matt smiled one last time.)
But let's all just be honest.
There may be times we can't stand each other.
Though friendship beats the hate.
(Lastly, we see a vision of the seven youths hanging out at an outdoor ice cream shop and enjoying some ice cream shakes.)
This is it, everyone! This is the one story I've been excited to work on ever since Season 5 of the main series. For those who don't know, this is a spin-off story set two years after Season 6 of "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sodor Chronicles" (and *spoiler* a year after "The Dark Side of Dimensions" *end spoiler*), and it stars Matt Fudo and his friends as they search for the two remaining Signers. In addition, it's a semi-crossover with the anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED", featuring a number of characters and OCs based off certain characters from the show. It will also feature a number of story elements, dialogue, Mobile Suits and Gundams as Duel Runners, and other inspirations which will be featured throughout the story.
If anyone's watched "Gundam SEED", then you should get a general idea on what characters and story elements are being featured as you read. If you haven't watched it, then it will be pretty difficult to understand what they are. It's available on DVD, and you can watch the whole series in HD, subbed, on the site Crunchyroll. Anyway, the first half of this series will focus on our heroes competing in Rex Godwin's Duel Monsters tournament while meeting new friends and enemies alike, and I do hope everyone enjoys this story because there will be plenty more chapters to come soon.
