Hello, this is my recreation of Memphisgal94's "Break Your Heart" story. Memphisgal94 was the first "Wattpad" style writer to ever exist and created the phenomenon of Wattpad stories. These first "Wattpad" stories were written on Youtube before the website Wattpad ever existed. The first OG happened to be someone I love very, very dearly, and I wanted to rewrite them for him. However, as these stories were written by an adolescent, many of the plotlines, dialogue, and characters were extremely concerning and problematic. I hope to rewrite and honor the past in a beautiful way.
If you enjoy a slowburn, enjoy these slow burning, romantic and eventually erotic stories. (As it should be.)
This story will be about love, loss, laughter, romance, coming of age, growth, loneliness, togetherness, friendship, family, and relationships. There will be explicit content about TRAUMA so please, reader discretion is necessary! Follow the rating and click off if you are underage. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed reading my dear friend's writing growing up. It provided him with an outlet to share his pain and life, and now, 10 years later, I'm provided the same outlet with a different outlook. I hope to create something beautiful with this gift he gave me years ago. Thank you for reading. :)
RATED M FOR MATURE. No children, no one under the age of 18. Thank you.
~First day of School~
University of Malibu- Malibu, CA
Move-in Day:
Mimi was smart and sophisticated. Her hair was long and flowing, and it always seemed like the wind was blowing in the right direction for her. The wind gods seemed to favor her as she strolled around her beautiful campus in Malibu. She had dark almond shaped eyes that would pierce into your soul as if she knew you… before you even met. She looked at everyone who walked past her with hope and love, as she prayed to the universe that she would finally be able to make a genuine friend.
When Mimi graduated high school, she was top of her class. Despite her beautiful looks, intelligence, and work ethic, highschool was an extremely difficult time for her. She was the most popular girl at her school, and yet, she was the loneliest girl anyone had ever met. When Mimi entered college, she was determined to do something different. There was no way she was going to let her high school experience repeat again. Being in the top of her class was grueling and thankless, but at least she made it into the university of her dreams… right? She looked around her beautiful campus and wondered if she became the girl she was in high school, would the nightmare from her childhood repeat over and over again? She was the everything girl, and everyone who knew her knew it. Maybe she could start over here… Just be one of the students on campus. She had aspirations to be a lawyer, but of course, her reputation preceded her. She wanted to be an unknown this time… Maybe it would help her make friends. Being the everything girl seems like everyone's dream until you are the everything girl. Then, the nightmare is unending. Perfection became her prison guard… and she didn't know how to escape. Well, there was no escape. She never strove for perfection… She simply was.
Away from home, away from family and friends, starting over completely.. That's what Mimi wanted for herself. She was determined to prove anyone and everyone wrong about herself. She loved proving people wrong. Perhaps that's why she wanted to be a lawyer. After all, what does an 18 year old know about what they want to do with the rest of their lives.
People envied this young girl as she walked around alone and just stared at the liveliness happening on campus around her. As she walked by, the students, parents, and professors alike stared… Who was this young, new, determined freshman on campus? They wondered.
Although the people on campus were staring at her, Mimi seemed clueless as to why they were staring and stared back intently… She noticed a group of popular looking kids who were gathered around someone who seemed like they were some kind of special student or something. The kids around this special student were very obviously kissing this boy's ass, as if they had something to gain from him. They looked like lap dogs who were panting for more feed. It was quite a sight to see.
Mimi wanted to ask someone if the dean's child happened to be on campus or something, but it was a much bigger deal than a dean's spawn. She was fascinated and curious by this popular new boy on campus that everyone seemed to already know. Mimi looked around and sighed. Those popular kids seemed to have no interest in being friends with her. They look fun though… especially that special boy. He looks really wild and funny. I bet they like to party… she thought to herself.
She was looking around thoroughly to see who she could potentially be friends with… She laid her eyes on one boy.
Unfortunately, this boy was that exact popular kid that seemed to have absolutely no interest in making new friends. He had the biggest, most beautiful brown eyes. They looked soft… soft and so deep. But he acted like a complete ass. The girls around him panted for his attention, and he clearly knew it. He didn't even give those girls a second look. Actually, he treated them like his handmaidens, calling them 'hoe' and 'whore' to their faces. Strangely, these girls did not seem to be bothered by this and seemed to think it was a compliment every time this special boy even looked in their direction. It was clear to Mimi that this boy looked at them with disgust and toyed around with their feelings with no regard for them at all. They seemed to want to marry this boy at all costs, though… shocking, as Mimi had never seen such submissive bitches.
It was shocking to see how soft and warm his eyes looked in comparison to his vulgar language and treatment of the girls. Mimi wondered how a kind looking boy such as him could behave that way and looked at him with deep concern… Perhaps this boy was similar to her high school self? Well, probably not similar in the least bit, but for some reason, she just felt a sort of kinship with this popular boy on campus. The everything boy… she thought, as she covered her face with her hair.
After watching this boy for half the entire orientation, she finally decided to ask someone about him.
She asked another Korean kid in her orientation group who seemed to have interest in being friends with her. "Hey, excuse me? Do you know who that popular boy right there is? Why does everyone know him?" Mimi asked.
"Oh, him? Do you not know? It's the founding family's son," the Korean boy responded.
"The what? Founding family of… THE SCHOOL?!" She asked.
"Uh… yeah, you didn't know? It's like a huge deal that we're in the same class as that guy. It's like a huge honor dude," he said. Is this girl stupid? Michael thought inside.
"What the hell… seriously?! How did I not know that… wow… so… I'm guessing those group of kids are like all rich and connected?" Mimi asked, concerned that she wouldn't fit in with that crowd.
"Obviously." he said with a scoff. Michael looked at the girl who had no clue. How the hell did this bitch make it in here? He wondered, assuming she was dumb because she looked clueless.
Damn… I thought he would be nice because he's also Korean but what a fucking dick dude. Okay… So I know who I DON'T want to be friends with… She thought while looking over at the boy who responded with such spite. I literally don't even want to know his name. Right as she thought this, the Korean boy asked her, "What's your name?"
She contemplated giving him her name… Finally she said, "Uh… It's Mimi…"
"Oh, you're Korean?" He said.
"Yes, duh, that's why I talked to you." She said.
"Oh… Well, why do you have a Korean name? Are you from Korea or something?" He asked.
"Why are you SO rude though…"
"How am I being rude… I'm just asking a question." He said while giving her the most condescending up and down.
What the hell is this guy's problem… WTF… Is everyone at this school just like this or something?! Honestly… I'm scared I'm stuck here with these ginormous asshole rich kids who have no respect or something!
"You're rude but no, I'm not from Korea. I immigrated here so I have a Korean name," she said while giving him back the most condescending look she can gather in her face. She looked him up and down and realized… Oh my god! I actually don't think this boy is rich OR connected! I think he has an inferiority complex… Poor guy, maybe I should try to be nice to him to build his confidence.
"So… What's your name? And what's your major?" she asked, trying to make him her friend.
"I'm Michael Jeung, but it's spelled j-e-U-n-g. And I'm in pre-law,," Michael said.
"Cool, hi Michael. It was great to meet you. And I'm in Political Science so maybe we'll see each other in class. I really hope so at least!" Mimi said, trying to walk away from Michael Jeung.
Wait… so everyone I want to be friends with already has friends and doesn't want to make any more? What the hell! I thought college was supposed to be fun and everyone wanted to make new friends… :( I guess I thought wrong… Might as well focus on school or something :( At least I met Michael Jeung even though he's kind of a dick… but he seems to be the only person willing to talk to me, so I'll keep him close by.
Later in the day, it was finally time to see their assigned dorms. Mimi had never been more excited. She thought she could become best friends with her roommate and everyone in her suite, floor, and nearby areas. She couldn't wait!
When she arrived at her dorm building, she looked around at all the families helping their children move in. She looked around and couldn't help but feel so alone and embarrassed.
Oh no… she thought, Were our parents supposed to help us move in? Maybe I should've just told Michael I was an international student so that no one would know why I'm here alone… I really hope there's other students who are just moving in alone. I really hope… no one notices that I'm moving in alone… Oh please god… I really can't handle the humiliation.
To Mimi's surprise, she saw one person moving in completely alone… She was shocked to see that it was the popular Founding Family's son from earlier. Oh my god! She thought, this is my chance!
She approached him as he was throwing his bags around, pissed. Despite his bad mood, she was beyond excited to see him move into the suite right next to her.
"Hello!" She said, "Are you moving in here? I'm in the next suite over!"
He looked at her up and down before he responded. He gave her a little side smirk and said, "Yeah, I'm moving in…" He kept looking at her up and down, but this time Mimi enjoyed it. She smirked back at him coyly, as she played with her fingers. Secretly, she felt flushed and embarrassed. She didn't know the conversation would get this far.
"Oh that's cool! I'm moving in right next door!" She said quickly to hide her nervousness.
"Awesome, what's your name Ms. Ladie," he asked, gazing into her eyes, his eyes oozing with playful charm.
Mimi had never been starstruck before. She was stunned. She literally could not believe how flustered she became, as she had always always been the most popular, most wanted person anywhere she went. She was flushed and started sweating uncharacteristically as she responded…
"My name is Mimi… :)" She said, trying to hide the fact that she was getting more and more sweaty. "Okay bye! I have to finish moving in!" She said before he could figure out how nervous she was. As she was trying to quickly run away, he yelled, "WAIT! Do you need help? Or… actually… uhh… MY NAME'S JAKE!"
"No, I don't need ANY help." She yelled back as she quickly ran away. She was so embarrassed that she was a girl moving all her furniture, bags, and items in alone, while even the international students she watched had help moving their things in… She had a huge crush on this "Jake" and frankly, she couldn't handle the pain of having someone watch her be this alone.
Okay, then… Jake thought. I see you moving in alone… but sure, you don't need help. What is she, like superwoman or something? He laughed. A skinny girl like her? Can she even carry her own bags? I just got into a fight with my family… It doesn't even look like her parents are here with her… Is she an orphan or something? What is she… Harry Potter?
He laughed at his own joke but inside, he felt a kinship towards her too… Maybe that girl was just as lonely as he was. No, that girl is just as alone as I am, actually, huh? Or maybe more… I didn't see her with any friends at orientation this morning… I wonder why…
