Note: This is my next major story for The Raccoons. However, it will be an AU story where some of the characters are Japanese warriors out to save the day. Also, as a quick note, this story is inspired by an unreleased PC game from the 1990s called Rock N' Shaolin: Legend of the Seven Paladins 3D. There are a number of changes between this story and the source material, but it's still a homage to an obscure game that never saw the light of day. Anyway, here's chapter one.

Chapter 1: Prologue

A long time ago, evil forces had terrorized the Earth. These forces destroyed the land and killed livestock. Warriors far and wide had tried their best to fight them, but failed. The fatalities kept increasing as more and more people fought back. No matter who fought this evil, it always seemed to triumph. It was just too powerful to beat.

When all hope seemed lost, seven warriors appeared proud and vigilant. These heroes had come from Japan and were comprised of paladins and those seeking apprenticeship under samurai. They had enough of the evil forces and decided to confront it. In the end, the warriors won the battle. The evil had returned to the center of the Earth, where it would reside. The warriors were honored for their bravery and led normal lives until their deaths.

For every generation, a new team of warriors had been formed to protect the innocent. A descendant of one of the original warriors, Chu-ya Sunea, formed what he considered to be the ultimate team. One of the members of the current team was Chu-ya's own son, Chikaga. Joining Chikaga are Osaka native Bairei Tanuki, his longtime friend Ryuta Tanuki, Ryuta's wife Mayumi Tanuki, his girlfriend Shizuka Tsutsu, and English-American immigrant Arthur Schaefer. Nineteen years prior, Ryuta's older brother, Junichi Tanuki, left the team to move to Canada. The team would be left without a seventh member until that fateful day.

Note: Pretty good prologue, right? As a fair warning for the rest of the story, there will be romanized Japanese dialogue in certain parts. Don't worry, I'll include translations in my notes. What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism stating what you like and what you don't like. Until next time guys, peace!
