Prologue
BPOV
"Oh, Edward had to extend his work trip," Tanya said, "And no, I'm not mad at him! He's spent, in fact, wasted way too much time on me! How could I be mad at him?"
Tanya had been out of Coma for about six months now. She was slowly getting back to her normal self. I was happy to see that, but I couldn't stop myself from being jealous of her. Sometimes I wished I hadn't known her since ages, it might have been easy to hate her.
But anyway, I had to learn to deal with that. There was no point in staying bitter.
Edward had made his decision, and I shouldn't try to question or fight it. The best thing was to accept the fact that we weren't meant to be together!
"I've a surprise for everyone," she said, "I've missed a lot of wonderful, amazing moments while I was... sleeping, you know?" she chuckled weakly, "Let's relive them!"
And then she started showing different clips of everyone from their family.
"Alice, I must say you need to show me this dance again," she said to Alice, Edward's sister and also my best friend.
"Naah!" Alice laughed, "I don't think I'd be able to repeat that performance."
"Well, you'd be able to repeat it if you get drunk like that again," Jasper laughed, "Right, Bella?"
"Ummm... yeah," I smiled.
"You know what, Tanya? Everyone was drunk like crazy that evening," he said, "Including your husband."
Please don't remind me of that! I wanted to say.
I wished we hadn't forced Edward to join us at that party that evening.
I wished we hadn't got so drunk.
I wished we hadn't got so close that night.
I wished I had been able to stop.
I sighed. There was no point of thinking all this now.
Everyone was having fun, well, everyone except me. I should never have come here, but Esme asked me to join them, and I couldn't say no to her. Plus, I thought it was the best if I could start taking everything like how it was before. It might help me to move on! And also, I knew that Edward wasn't going to be here tonight, so I knew it was going to be a bit easier.
"I've something for you, too, Bella," she said.
For me?
"Oh, I'm sure nothing interesting," I smiled.
"Oh, believe me, it's really, really interesting," she smiled and started the video.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
This was the worst that could have happened to me.
This was beyond humiliating.
I heard the gasps and I felt everyone's eyes on me.
Of course, everyone was going to be shocked by seeing this video.
I had my arms wrapped around Edward, while he was trying to play piano.
"Will you let me focus, please?" he smiled.
"No!" I said, as I placed a soft kiss on his ear.
How was this possible?
How did Tanya get this video clip? Did she get it from Edward's phone?
How was everyone going to react?
How was I going to face them?
What was going to happen now?
How was Edward going to react?
I heard some murmurs, but I didn't know what exactly was going on.
I felt like I had lost my ability to think anything.
"So... How does it feel to be a homewrecker, Bella?" she said as I felt her eyes piercing through my soul.
