Authors Notes- Yeah, Yeah I know enough with the Mirroverse fanfics. But in all honesty this will be the last one for a while. And I always kind of wanted to write a fanfic that was centered around Neutrals but could never come up with a good plot. Well, I guess the Mirrorverse us a good place as any. As you can gather by now I don't own Transformers, I don't even own any Transformers action figures. Hasbro owns all of that nonsense. Me, I merely borrow the characters for my own amusement.

I DO however own Joyride, and any other Oc's that make an appearance in this story. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter One of Victims Of Fate. I hope you enjoy.

Chapter One: Escape.

Cybertron was dead. A lone mech mused as sorrowful white optics scanned the devastation. Once, a very long time ago he had once called this place home. And now it was in ruins, and he had that tyrant Optimus Prime to thank for that.

Damn him, the mech thought, as tears formed in the corners of his optics, his servos clenched into fists at his sides. Energon both belonging to him, and to other innocent Neutrals stained his blue and silver paint job. Damn him and his brainless Autobot followers. Gritting his denta he forced himself to move. He wasn't safe here. He and others like him never safe. Them being Neutrals, bots that refused to get involved with either side of this bloody war. And because of their refusal they were always the first to die, especially if they refused to join the Autobot cause.

The Decepticons, on the other hand had always chose more diplomatic ways to try and convince the Neutrals to join their cause. And in some cases it worked. But not for him, a mech that went by the name of Joyride. And some would call him a coward for not wanting to fight in this meaningless war. And maybe he was, he didn't care though. He and a few other Neutrals were leaving Cybertron. Lord Prime, the blood thirsty monster could have it. Him and those monsters he called Autobots. He would not die here.

Turning away from the carnage before him, come face to face with Downshift. The bulky black and orange mech loomed over Joyride's short stature. But that was not what drew Joyride's attention to the mech. What did was the all too familiar sight of the Decepticon Insignia on his chest. A frown forming on Joyride's face plate.

"So, you chose to fight?" Joyride asked, voice soft.

"You think I was going to run like you?" Downshift growled, disgust tinting his deep voice, making Joyride flinch. Joyride had known that not everyone would agree with his decision to run, but he, just couldn't care. Saying nothing he moved to step past the larger mech. Silently wishing Downshift luck and sincerely hoped that Downshift would make it out of this war intact.

Though that was unlikely. Joyride knew that more than a few of his friends had joined the All Spark when they had joined either side. And though he knew he should have a little more faith in his long time friend he just couldn't.

"Are the others leaving the planet with you?" Downshift asked, looking over his shoulder at him.

Joyride nodded as he forced himself to meet Downshift's gaze. The larger mechs features seemed to soften as he turned fully to Joyride, placing a heavy hand on his shoulder and giving it a squeeze.

"Well... wherever you go, Joyride. I wish you nothing but the best, all of you." Downshift said, staring past Joyride. Looking over his shoulder Joyride was surprised to see the gold and green form of Epsilon, and at his side the gold and black form of Goldstreak. Epsilon's younger sister.

Sorrow gripped Joyride's spark as he looked at the two as they drew closer. For he knew that they two would be staying.

"Are you sure you won't stay?" Goldstreak asked, sorrow shining in her bright blue optics. "The Decepticons could use all the help they can get."

At that Joyride shook his head. Because I'm a coward. A voice whispered in the back of his head, bitterly. Perhaps he was, after all, everyone else was fighting and dying for their fallen planet. And here he was turning tailpipe and was heading for the nearest way off the planet. Perhaps he should join the fight, join the Decepticons in the war against the Autobots. Maybe then he would get a chance to take out Optimus and his Autobots once and for all. Joyride scoffed. Yeah right, like he had the ball bearings to go into battle against anyone. He was a pacifist, and would be until his dying day.

Before the war he had spent all his free time in various libraries studying to be a medic along side his sister, Sunfire. After all, they had always enjoyed helping others. Something that had been instilled in them from a young age by their parents. However, those dreams soon shattered and he had lost everything. Giving his head a shake Joyride forced himself back in the now, optics glued on his friends. Placing his hand on both Downshift's and Goldstreak's shoulders. Forcing a smile to his face plate.

"I'm sure." He told them.

A hurt look flashed over Goldstreak's face plate as she looked up at him, her hand sliding down his arm. "Maybe...maybe we'll see each other again someday." She choked out. Always the optimist. Joyride thought, as all he could do was nod before finally turning away from his friends.

He knew if he continued to linger he would break down and continued to stay so he left. Silence permeated all around him as he made his way to where his ship was noting that the others had long since left. Leaving his ship to be the only one left, wasting not a moment longer he slid into the cockpit seat and started it. After what seemed like forever Joyride had left Cybertron. The planet he had once called home disappearing in the distance. Now there was the big question, where was he to go now? Perhaps he would find some planet that hadn't been tainted by the Cybertronian war. Hell, Joyride thought as he continued to fly, anywhere was better than Cybertron. And with that Joyride's ship disappeared. Leaving his friends to whatever fate awaited them.

And despite himself Joyride actually hoped they would meet again someday. If fate allowed it. Unfortunately for him it seemed that fate had other plans for him...

Authors Notes- And with that Chapter One of Victims Of Fate is complete. I know it wasn't that great of the first chapter but I figured I'd start out with the introduction of our main character. Never less I hope you did enjoy it. And with that out of the way this is Blackjack signing off. Have a good night.
