Prologue:
The night sky was gloomy, but that's usually the mood on a stormy night. A woman hurriedly walked through the streets of Godrick's Hollow trying to find the correct house to drop the bundle in her arms. Having a baby should have been a blessing. However, she knew that her duty as a Mother had to come first. Her child was in danger and she refused to have the prophecy come to pass, her child's life depended on it.
She felt stupid. She didn't even realize she was under a love potion until a man came and had tea with her. He was a strange man, but she knew who he was immediately. She never thought her time at Ilvermorny would result in her becoming something she was not. She was only trying to make her husband happy, if that was even what he was. She had no idea who she was, the mark on her arm told her otherwise. A lot happened after she left her school. Now, she had a child to protect. Dumbledore told her of a prophecy, the child who bears his mark. She was chosen, for something she had no say in. She may have only spent a few moments with her, but she was willing to protect her child no matter what the cost is. The prophecy still lingers in her head as if it was on repeat. She can still hear Dumbledore's words as he cited them. "When the time comes, the dark one will return, a new bond shall rise in immorality, deaths of millions will soon follow, from the ashes and bones with this destructive power will bring about the dawn of evil or the downfall of an empire. Who will she stand with?".
She reached the house she was looking for. She had to do this, she had to be brave. Kissing the top of her daughter's sleeping head, she took one last look at her daughter's wrist and tears began to flow. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. You'll be safe now." Taking her wand out, the mark slowly disappeared, not gone, but hidden. She put her daughter down on the stairs and banged on the door. She knew what was going to happen, and as long as her daughter was safe it would be worth it. She did what she was tasked, and that was hiding her daughter, She banged on the door again, took one last look at her child, and disappeared.
