Hey everyone, I hope you enjoy this story! First, I need to make a few warnings. There will be PTSD, Depression, Anger Issues, and Eating Disorders in this story. There will also be emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. I will do another warning at the start of each chapter, but this is a darker version of their time on the isle.

The second warning is there will be Polyamory in this story and homosexual relationships. I won't give anything away but there will be non-cannon relationships as well. Love is love, and that is something I want to show here.

Finally, I do not own Descendants, or anyone mentioned here. I only own the OC's , which I will declare in each chapter.

With that done, I really hope you enjoy!

"It's over," King Adan whispered, letting the pent-up tension drain out of him.

Beside him, his new wife Belle squeezed his hand, silently giving him strength. Both their eyes stayed resolutely on the spot the mist swallowed the barge, taking it towards the cargo's new prison. There were other royals around them, creating a wall of strength and unity. On his left stood Princess Aurora and her husband Prince Phillip, and to his other stood Princess Snow White, the young girl's emotions clashing in her eyes. His heart went out to her. It really did. She may have been poisoned by her stepmother, but that poison hadn't corroded her heart, leaving the love she had for her uncorroded and bright as ever.

All the surrounding people had been to the depths of hell and back, many wearing invisible scars that would never wash off. The actions of the people on the barge had transfigured all of them, strengthening their resolve and staining their memories. Although none of them wanted to create the United States of Auradon as he proposed, Adam internally prayed that these people would heal, and their common trauma would unite them.

Something beautiful would hopefully come out of the pain they endured, just like a rainbow appearing from the thick black storm clouds. He kept his eyes on the spot the barge was on and knew that if the villains remained on that Isle that everything would be okay, and the pain would slightly corrode it all.

What he didn't expect was that his own son would be the one to set them free.

Modern Day

The perpetual thick black clouds laid across the sky, letting only the most daring streams of sunlight slip through. The sea slammed against the barrier made of shattered dreams, seemingly angry at its own confinement. Harry Hook could relate. Every day he saw the barrier and every day he felt his hatred festering inside him, congealing into something hideous. He could dimly hear his sisters talking in the room over, but he kept his eyes firmly on the sea, looking out the grimy port hole.

He hissed as he felt cold metal nick his skin. He didn't bother fighting back, it would only make the hook dig in harder. He made himself stand up, knowing the sharp end of the hook would sink into his skin like he was a fish if he didn't. He knew better than to talk, just kept his mouth shut and followed obediently, keeping his eyes on the portholes as she stumbled backward. He stifled his groan as his father with hidden strength pulled him forward and pushed him to the floor, his dad's hook slicing his flesh on his way down.

"Harry, what is this I hear about yer' being a FIRST MATE!" Captain Hook said calmly, his famous temper arising like a sea storm on the final two words.

Harry internally cringed. How had his da' already found out about that? He had only just agreed this afternoon. He had clearly underestimated the old captain's reach; the thought sending chills down his spine like chilled seawater. Instead of replying, he kept his face pointed downwards, knowing to not speak unless his father demanded it. He still had scars from the last time he pushed his luck.

"A Hook is never" he hissed the word Never, his eyes like a storm, "First Mate. yer' are capt'n or nothing," he snarled, swiping his unhooked hand over the cabinet, sending items sprawling.

"What yer ave ta say, boy?" He snarled, practically vibrating with anger.

"Da, she is Ursula's daughter, the Queen of the Ocean. How canna expect me to take er' place?" Harry said, trying to keep a lid on his own temper.

Before he could think, he felt a burning sensation before a metallic scent aced the air. He knew better than to move his hand to his cheek, instead felt the warm liquid slide down his cheek like a macabre waterfall.

"Yer sassin' me boy?" Hook screamed, using the blunt side of his hook to slam into his son's nose, making a sick crunch resonate around the room.

"No, da', neva," Harry stuttered, trying in vain to keep his voice even. "I'll try ta work on upsurpin er da, but it'll take a while," he said, remembering to not make his father get his hopes up. That just ended with more bloodshed.

Hook glared at him, moving his hook up to his face so his son could see his blood congealing on the end. "So, yer sayin' ye are planning on takin' its ova?" Hook said, an unreadable expression on his face.

Harry gulped, knowing that he had to be careful how he worded this. One wrong word means pain for him, and his vision was already buzzing from the pain. "Ya da, that me plan." Harry said, morphing his expression into a cocky smirk.

"Fine, yer ave a week," Captain Hook snapped, turning on his heel and making his coat clap his son's face.

He stormed to the door, only pausing to look back and glare at his son like he had said crocodiles were his favourite animals. "Clean up this mess, it's yer fault yer got blood on me floor," He said, storming out and leaving Harry on the floor, staring at the pool of blood on the floor.

"Ya da," Harry whispered, finally reaching up to stem the blood flow and allowing a single tear to snake down his cheek and merge with the blood.

"It's fine, he's your dad. He will support you," Ben muttered to himself, pacing outside his dad's office. "He may even think it is a great idea and wish he had thought of it… who am I kidding he's going to hate this idea," Ben lamented, moving to the wall, and pressing his head against it.

"Are you planning on staying outside her for much longer, if so, I think we better order more carpet," an amused voice said, making Ben turn around to see his mother smirking, a few books tucked under her arm.

Ben smiled sheepishly, noticing his mother's elegant buttery yellow dress. She always loved yellow. "Err hi mum," he said, stepping back and rubbing the nape of his neck with his hand.

Belle just smirked and raised an eyebrow, giving him the signature expression she used whenever he or his dad was being silly. "Ben, I love you, but what are you doing?" She asked, her expression not lessening.

"Would you believe me if I said I just really like the door to dad's office?" Ben asked, crying at his terrible excuse.

"No, the library doors are much grander." she said, smirking at her son. "Now come on, what's going on?" she whispered, reaching out to take her son's hand.

Ben sagged, letting out a large exhale of air. "Mum, as you know my 16th-year proclamation is coming up-"

"Yea I am aware, I was in labour for 14 hours," Belle said, mock glaring at her son.

"Err, yea, sorry mum." Ben said, making Belle shake her head fondly. "So, I have my proclamation."

"Is it to do with your father's and my story? You know the rules, that it has to be related to a message that our story teaches," Belle said, falling into queen mode.

"Yes, mum, it is. I'm just not too sure how dad will react" Ben said, wincing at the thought.

"Well, I would recommend telling him the message it relates to first and then what it actually is. If he knew the reasoning, he would probably be more receptive," Belle said, smiling at her son.

Ben grinned back at her, thanking his lucky roses that his mother was so intelligent. She was the most well-read queen in the world of Auradon, making her also one of the most level-headed. She was his dad's perfect half, which explained the fact his father's name, Adam, was written in cursive. A stylized rose around his name in homage to their story.

"How about you tell me first and I can give you pointers, it may help," Queen Belle suggested, absentmindedly tracing her finger over her soul etch on her wrist.

"Okay, so my proclamation stems to the moral of your story, that people deserve second chances." Ben paused, reading his mother's expression to ensure that she was okay. When she smiled softly and nodded, he carried on. "Your story taught me that some people who are viewed as heroic can be monsters, and some who are villains can be the real heroes. People are more than what society views them as, and if given the proper chance, they can show that they are more. Some people just had a better start in life and were able to flourish, whereas others were different and are different and can lose their chance," Ben paused, trying to rile back his passion.

"That was beautiful, you really got the moral of our story down my son, I am so proud of you. Also, another moral is please don't kidnap women, I had to get therapy after to help with the Stockholm Syndrome and it took a while for me to figure out that I truly loved Adam, so I don't recommend it," Belle cautioned, a small smile on her face.

"Don't worry mum, I'm not big on kidnapping," he said chuckling, making his mother giggle too.

"Carry on then son, what is your proclamation?" Belle asked, smiling, subtly flicking her eyes to a shadowed corner at the end of the hallway.

"Well, in line with that I thought we should give the children of the Isle of the Lost to be given a chance to live here in Auradon."

Before Belle could reply, a loud, rumbling scream could be heard. "What!" Beast roared, storming out from his shadowed corner and directly to his son.

He didn't even let his son reply, just threw his doors open and dragged his wife and son inside the room. Belle just sighed and let him drag her, knowing that his beastly side was acting up. He let them go, pacing, throwing his arms around as he tried to piece together the fact his son said the isle and live in Auradon in the same sentence. Ben glanced at his mother; the Queen's expression annoyed. Instead of replying, she strode over to her husband's chair, placing her books on the desk.

"Adam," she called, though her husband was too busy muttering to himself. "Adam," she said, her voice harder. Eventually, she had enough and stood up, glaring at her husband as she slammed the books on the desk.

"Adam, stop muttering and glaring. Just listen to what he has to say before you jump into your ranting," Belle said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument. "In fact, just stop talking and let me handle it first. Once we get all the information, you can ask your question, got it?" she said, raising an eyebrow.

Adam opened his mouth to open his eyes, only to shut it and nod when he caught sight of his wife's glare. He sighed and nodded, walking over to his wife. Belle stood up and let her husband sit down, before punching on his lap and threading her hands with him. She pulled on their soul bond and sent calming energy through it, making her beast relax and hold her closer.

"Okay, have you decided who you'd want to bring and why?" Belle asked, smiling encouragingly at her son.

"Okay, so every time I look out at that island, I feel guilty. I completely understand why the villains were sent there, they did unspeakable crimes," he added, seeing his dad's eyebrows furrow and his jaw tense. "The kids, however, have done nothing to justify keeping them there. I'm not saying that we should bring them all here but bring a few over and slowly integrate them."

Belle hummed, mulling over the idea. She could feel her husband training, and the vibration deep in his chest. She sent more calming vibes through the bond, internally smiling when she felt the tension ease. "Okay, so how many are you thinking of bringing and who are their parents? Keep in mind that we will need to find people to look after the children and get the consent from their parents." Belle explained, smiling at her son when she saw his frown.

"Oh, I didn't think of that," he said, his eyebrows furrowing together.

"We will also need to bring it forward to the council, seeing as it won't just be Beudona, that is affected," She added, her husband nodding.

"I can't believe you even suggested this. Their parents are monsters-"

"Exactly, their parents are. I seem to remember using a similar line to defend you against a certain hunter," Belle said, glancing at her husband, her gaze thick with meaning.

Adam started at her, glaring at her. Upon seeing her pointed expression, his expression thawed, replaced with an influx of guilt in his eyes. Sighing, he squeezed her thigh imperceptibly, before looking at his son. "I suppose the children are innocent, who are the parents," he said gruffly, savoring the warmth his wife sent through their bond.

"Cruella De Vil," Ben said, wincing when he heard his dad growl.

"She wanted to turn me into a coat," he growled, glaring at him when he remembered exactly what the fashion-obsessed female said before being knocked out for the barge.

"Yea… but her son didn't," Ben said, a strained smile on his face.

"Continue son," Belle said, trying to calm her husband.

"Jadis the White Queen and The Evil Queen," he said, shutting one eye when he heard his dad growl again. Seeing that he said nothing, though aware that the white queen had said something similar to his dad as Cruella, he carried on quickly. "Ursula and Jafar," he added, trying to grin when he heard his dad mutter about turning Ursula into squid rings.

"Okay, is that all?" Belle asked, looking at her son with a strained smile.

"Um… not quite, three more," he said, smiling apologetically. "Captain Hook, Maleficent and..." He paused, looking at his parents with a clear apology in his gaze.

"Gaston,"

Hey everyone! I hope you like this story. I had written a few chapters of the same story and posted it, but decided it wasn't the avenue I wanted to go down. In this story, Auradon is the entire world with all the different kingdoms in it, not the single kingdom. I've made it so there will be 8 people coming over to the school, which will add more relationships. I will show it in the later chapters, but on the island, there are three 'queens on the island', with each controlling a different area of the island. Ursula controls the pirates, the ocean, and docks, which is why in my mind, Uma is the Captain, not Harry. Which as you can see in this chapter, Captain Hook isn't exactly the most understanding father on this point.

In Auradon there are soulmates. This point will be established later but so far, we know the bond allows sharing of emotions.

I really hope you enjoyed this chapter, and if you'd be so kind, would love to hear your thought!
