Taking a break from my other fic to take on my first Whumptober challenge! Instead of separate fics, all the prompts will be done in this one. Most will be SHORT chapters, depending on the prompt:
NO. 1 A LITTLE OUT OF THE ORDINARY
Whumptober prompt of "This wasn't supposed to happen"
Five is frustrated with being treated like a kid, so he tries again to fix his calculation. He ends up in a 23 year old body- better, but still not completely ideal. But his energy isn't the same...
Five entered the lounge area in a huff.
Allison was laying on the couch reading through a magazine. She didn't even bother looking over at him. "Rough day?" She asked with a hint of sarcasm.
"Apparently you have to be over 18 or with an adult to get basic painkillers at the pharmacy," he informed her. "I had to blink out when no one was watching."
Allison sat up at this. "We have painkillers here…"
"I needed stronger ones." He grabbed a pen and scribbled some calculations down. "With some extra time, I've been working towards getting back to my correct body."
Allison stood up and walked over to him now, looking at the numbers on the page. Not that she really understood them. "Do you think it's smart to go back to being 58 physically? Having a younger body must have come in handy…"
"But not this young," he complained. He turned to her and gave a little smile. "See you in a moment…hopefully as more of myself."
"Five," Allison grabbed his arm. "Are you sure this is the right time?" They were finally able to rest.
"I have to try," Five told her. His hands sparked blue as he blinked.
"Where did Five go off to?" Klaus asked as he and Viktor entered the room.
"He went to correct his body…" Allison looked at her brothers with worry. "What if he got lost in time again?"
A moment later there was a flash from the hallway. A, mostly, familiar voice let out some curses, which was paired with a thudding sound of something dropping down the stairs.
The three siblings looked in the direction of the voice and then to each other, before rushing into the hall.
"Five?" Viktor called, as they turned the corner and stopped.
The young man who had just fallen down the stairs stood and looked at them.
"Holy crap…" Allison gasped.
"Five." Viktor confirmed.
"I told you he would be hot." Klaus said to them, recalling their conversation in the barber shop back in 1963.
Five looked at them slightly confused, and then rushed over to the mirror that was by the front door (used for "last looks").
His hair was longer, no longer in the school boy cut, but still had its color. His face had lost the "baby" look. His cheeks and jawline were sharper, and there was stubble that was poking out from his chin.
He wasn't 58, but he definitely wasn't 13 any more.
"Shit…" he breathed out, stunned.
"Are you… are you alright?" Allison asked him, approaching him slowly, as if he wouldn't recognize her or something.
"I'm… good." He told her, stealing one more glance at himself before turning to look at his siblings.
"You look like you're in your early 20s… you still look younger than us…" Viktor studied him.
Five smiled, "it's not what I was aiming for. But it's still better than being 13."
He took a step towards them and stumbled a few steps, placing his hand on the table in the hall to steady his balance.
The other three hurried to his side.
"Are you alright?" Allison asked.
"I feel a little tired," Five answered honestly.
"It must have taken a lot to change your body," Viktor guessed.
Five accepted that as an answer with a nod. He took a few more steps and seemed to be alright.
"Why is everyone in the hallway?" Diego's voice came from behind them. "Who's that?"
They all turned to face him, Luther and Lila on the stairs.
"Sweet mother of…" Luther started.
"Adonis." Lila finished. Diego shot her a look, but immediately brought his attention back to the group by the table.
"Five?"
Their "older" brother gave a smile and nodded. "It's me…"
It still looked like him, there was no doubt there. He was still about the same height. There really was no big difference there.
He just looked older.
They walked down to the others on the main floor. "Definitely not a kid any more," Lila said with humor as she looked him up and down with an approving smile.
He raised an eyebrow at her, not even bothering to glance at Diego. "But I'm still mentally the same, Lila."
"So same annoyingly smug asshole, just in an all new body," Diego commented.
"New to you… although I didn't pay much attention to how I physically looked when I was in my twenties," Five said, thinking back. "Was too busy trying to survive."
"Well you know that this means?" Klaus sidled up next to Five with a mischievous grin. "We are going clubbing!"
"That's not really my scene…" Five made a face.
"Oh come on! You can walk in without an issue! Get to live your younger years over!"
Five glanced around the room, everyone waiting for his answer.
"I suppose I could go. For a bit. Just for the experience."

Five was already regretting going out. He was right, it wasn't his scene at all.
The music was loud, the flashing lights was disorienting and there were a couple of girls from some sorority that were trying to chat him up and make him dance with them as, probably, some sort of game they play when they go out.
He hated to say it, but thank goodness for Lila who came over to "claim" him and drag him back over to his brothers.
He still can't believe they all came. Allison decided to hang back at the academy and take advantage of the quiet.
He had a couple of drinks, but nothing that really was affecting him, but his head was starting to hurt.
"Can we go now?" He asked them.
"Not enjoying yourself, old man?" Diego asked.
"I don't think I was ready to be thrown into this," he shrugged.
"But I'm having so much fun!" Klaus danced around them.
Five sighed and looked at his glass. He didn't even drink it all. He wasn't thirsty, and didn't care for the taste of this mixed drink, whatever it is.
That's the last time I let Klaus pick a drink for me.
He felt… heavy.
Suddenly a hand clasped his shoulder.
"Five?" A concerned Viktor came into view. "You alright?"
"Sure."
"You were swaying."
He was beat. He's not sure how much time he had pushed through himself to age his body, not to mention how he miscalculated the blink which also caused him to spatial jump, sending himself to appear above the stairs.
Suddenly everything got incredibly warm and he felt ill.
"I need some air," he shouted to the rest over whatever song was playing. Not like he could really comprehend the lyrics over the crowd or even the melody of the song with the bass thumping so loud he felt it in his head and chest.
Viktor glanced at Luther and Diego before following Five to the door. Lila and Klaus were on the dance floor.
Five stepped out into the cool night air and took in a breath as the sudden temperature change stung at his cheeks and nose. He raised a hand to the bridge of his nose.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Viktor asked from behind him. He turned to see his largest and smallest brother.
Five hesitated. He should know better by now, not to lie. That was a problem the entire family had…
"It's been an eventful evening," he responded. His head hurt and he was feeling light headed. "I think I need to sleep."
He started towards the road and lifted his hand to hail a cab, but that was as far as he got. The moment his hand went up, his body dropped down in a stumble.
He felt the hard impact on his knee from trying to steady himself.
"Five!"
He heard both brothers call to him.
But his energy was draining.
"I need…" he started, as Luther grabbed a hold of him. "I need…to read my… stats…"
And that was the last thing he could recall saying.

He woke to find himself in the infirmary.
He was hooked up to some machines.
"Five?" Allison's voice rang through the fuzzy darkness.
"How long have I been here?" He inquired.
"Almost a day," she informed him. "The others weren't sure you were going to wake up. Your body's energy is weakening."
He sighed. "I need to pull myself back. Instead of putting myself through time, I put time through myself to age me. But it made me feel terrible. I need to fix myself."
"I know…" she said with a specific certainty. He studied her. She was so calm. So collected over the situation. Which meant…
"I know what to do…" he said to her.
And he closed his eyes to focus through the blue sparking around him.

"Allison…"
Allison glanced up from the couch. Her brothers and Lila all went out to the club and now here is Five in his 13 year old body again.
"Five?" She sat up and went to him as he faltered right into her arms. "If you're here, then who…"
"Still me. Just from the past. The age thing doesn't stick," he told her. "I'll have to be patient when it comes to aging like anyone else."
She helped lift him to his feet.
"Get me to bed please?"
"But what about the other you?"
"They'll bring him… me home later. I'll be unconscious for about a day in the infirmary. But when I woke up and talked to you, you seemed so calm. That's when I knew I went back and fixed it. I just need to stay away from THAT me until he goes to turn into the me that's here right now."
Allison better positioned herself to help Five stay on his feet as they headed to the stairs.
She sighed at his explanation.
"I hate time travel"
Definitely not one of my best works, and I may want to revisit this story plot at a future time…
This fic is for this year's Whumptober, but feel free to send me any other plot requests and I'll put it towards my other fic "Never a Day Off."
