As the sun was setting on an island covered in mist, which was a desolate place with bones of what were gigantic creatures, and metallic orange structures, there was a cruel experiment going on.

"But Dr. Cortex, we have not determined the cost of past failures," a voice of an individual said, but then chuckled.

Another voice, which was this Dr. Cortex, soon said, "Dr. Brio, you moron! This bandicoot will be my general, and will lead not only our financiers' armies, but will also lead my Cortex Comandoes to World Domination!" He paused, as we see the man that is Dr. Cortex, who had yellow skin, a white lab coat with yellow gloves, purple boots, barely any hair on top and around his head, and an N embedded on his forehead. His assistant, Dr. Brio had an odd-looking head with bolts on each side of head, while had on a green lab coat. They soon used a machine that was pointed at a mutated bandicoot, wearing a pair of blue pants, fingerless gloves, and sneakers, who was strapped up, as Cortex continued, "This time, I shall reign triumphant!" The machine blasted the bandicoot, which felt like it hurt the marsupial. There were also other cages, each with creatures that were for his experiments, each with names of the creatures like Potoroo, Koala, Kangaroo, and two saying Bandicoot, with one Bandicoot cage open. Cortex and Brio puts the test subject in a chair, as Cortex said with pride, "We are closer than ever before, quickly! Into the Vortex!"

Cortex pulls down a lever, while Brio pulls a lever a few times on the chair, which rises it with the bandicoot in it to a machine. While he was doing this, Brio soon said, "But Dr. Cortex," he paused a bit, then said, "The Vortex is not ready. We have no idea what it could do!" Brio keeps on tugging the lever, while he chuckles a bit.

Suddenly the machine, or the Vortex short circuited, and went into shambles, causing Cortex to go from a happy face to a shocked face. There was also a monitor that showed the bandicoot's face, then showed some words in front of the bandicoot saying:

BANDICOOT 1.0

REJECTED

Cortex was depressed, and said, "Failure again!" Cortex soon turned to his machine annoyed, soon noticed the bandicoot was off the chair, tried to grab it, and said, "Capture him!" Cortex then chased the bandicoot.

The bandicoot ran straight toward a window, and burst through it, but then looked down, and said, "Uh-oh!" He soon plummeted toward the ocean below.

Cortex looks down at the broken window, and said, "Well, he's food for those monsters below." He soon heard something, as one of his lab assistants was knocked off by another bandicoot, which came out of its cage, but this bandicoot was taller, had blonde hair, wearing short shorts, sneakers, and a pink shirt with a bit of white on the collar and sleeves, while showing that she was a female one, Cortex soon said, "Well at least we have a back-up." He soon said to his other lab assistants, "Prepare the Female Bandicoot." Four more lab assistants surrounded her, knowing she can't escape.

Brio soon said, "Unfortunately, Dr. Cortex, we have to stop the operation, our financiers are coming tonight."

"WHAT?!" Cortex exclaimed, thought, then said, "Alright, get the female bandicoot back into her cage, then get her ready, for we'll be leaving soon."

Brio soon looked at the broken window, and said, "I hope you survive your trip in the ocean, dear bandicoot."

Meanwhile, on the mainland far off from the island at night, we hear the voice of an elderly, yet soundly cranky man, who soon said:

I have spent my life searching for the answers that my father, and my father's fathers failed to find. Who were the Precursors? Why did they create the vast monoliths that litter our planet? How did they harness eco, the life energy of the world? What was their purpose? And why did they vanish? I have asked the plants, but they do not remember. The plants have asked the rocks, but the rocks do not recall. Even the rocks do not recall.

There was soon a hut, with birds circling around it, as the elderly man continued:

Every bone in my body tells me that the answers rest on the shoulders of a young boy.

There was soon a boy with yellow hair, that was relaxing on a boat, wearing a pair of goggles, a blue tunic with white pants, brown shoes with his toes sticking out, and a ring that holds three brown straps that holds a small backpack, white fingerless gloves, while wearing a metal plate on his right shoulder and an arm brace on his right arm as well. The elderly man soon continued:

Oblivious to his destiny!

There was soon another boy, who was buck-toothed, oranged-haired, wearing different pair of goggles, red and white tunic with off-white trousers, brown fingerless gloves but the same sandals as the other boy, who was retching off the boat, while the elderly man continues:

Uninterested in the search for truth! And rejecting of my guidance!

Suddenly, as the boy continues to relax, he heard a splash, and got up, and looked at where was, as the elderly man continued:

And why would he want to listen to old Samos the Sage anyway?

The boy looks and sees his friend was swimming up, for he fell overboard, then looks at his friend, and smiled embarrassingly, as the other boy rolled his eyes, and helped his friend back on the boat, as the elderly man, Samos soon continued:

I'm only the master of Green Eco. One of the wisest men on the planet.

The boy pulls his friend back on board as it began to move, then the yellow-haired boy then laughed at his friend, as they went off, while Samos continues:

So, the answer begins not with careful research or sensible thinking.

The boat soon reaches to a barren island, as Samos continues:

Nay! As with many of fates mysteries.

The boat soon stops at a beach and the first boy jumps out as Samos said:

It begins with but a small act of disobedience.

The boy in blue begins to walk around, but his friend soon said, "Hey, uh, Jak," he heads towards his friend, Jak, and Jak's friend said, "Old Green Stuff told us not to come here!"

The two boys continue to walk around the barren place, but then Jak looks up on a rock, while his friend plops on the same rocks, while Jak shushes him, as he and his friend were looking at some brutish creatures, while some were purplish, the others were blue with bone like armor, with lab assistants with them, near them were two scientists looked at them all on some steps, and the one with the N on his forehead soon said, "Greetings fellow minions, we have announcement, we are going to be leaving here to go to our main base of operation, we will be taking our equipment, and experiments with us, if you wish to stay, we will be happy to oblige."

The other scientist soon cleared his throat, and said, "And now, orders from our financiers."

Soon two other people appeared, one was a man that looked very horrible, while the other was a female looked a bit normal to the face, both had darkish skin. The man soon said in an echoey voice, "Continue your search for artifacts and eco," he inhaled a bit, then continued, "If the locals possess precursor items, you know what to do."

The female felt reluctant, but soon said with a fake smile, "Deal harshly with anybody who strays from the village," the female lifted her hand, then brought it down into a fist, and said, "We will attack it in due time."

The boys soon lower down, however it caught the attention of one of the bone armored creatures, who looked at the boulders the were at.

The boys continued exploring, as the worried one soon asked, "What are doing here anyway Jak? This place gives me the creeps." They continued to walk, when the other boy tripped on something. Jak looked at his friend, and chuckled at his misfortune, who glares at Jak, then looked at what he tripped on, which was a cylinder like thing, groaned, and said while picking it up, "Stupid Precursor junk." Jak looks down a vat of some dark substance, while his friend looks down, and said while is voice echoes, "Eek! What is that dark ooze? It sure don't look friendly." He soon blows on what was holding, rubs it, and said, "The sage yaps on about the Precursors that built this place all the time. 'Where did they go?' 'Why did they build this crud?' the boy mocked the sage, and tosses the cylinder, which Jak catches, and it glows as his friend continues, "Now I like Precursor Orbs and Power Cells as much as the next guy, but if ask me, they must have been real losers." The boy looks at Jak, notices the glowing cylinder, and said, "Wow, how did do that?" Even if Jak could answer, the bone armored creature followed them, and the other boy soon said, "Jak, I think we're in TROUBLE!?" The creature swings his club and charges at them, but then Jak went and tosses the cylinder at the creature, which explodes, killing it, but the blast causes Jak to fly towards his friend, who he bumps into, him fall into the vat screaming a bit. Jak looks down at the vat, then suddenly an orange creature, known as an ottsel, which is half-weasel and half-otter came out of the vat wearing goggles and fingerless gloves similar to his friend. The ottsel gets up and said in Jak's friends voice, "Man that stung!" He looks at Jak and said, "I told you we shouldn't come here, and you listened-" the ottsel was confused, and asked in annoyance, "What?" He then looks at his hand, shocked, was quiet at first, then screams his head off while pounding around like a baby, while Jak covered his ears, then the ottsel soon gets up and said, "Okay, okay. I'm fine, I'm fine," he soon looks down below him, then grabs Jak, and screams so loud, the entire island could hear it.

Brio soon heard the screaming, and asked, "What was that?"

The female from the meeting soon replied, "Probably a cowardly creature being put out of its misery." She soon noticed as the animals were being put on a dirigible that one was missing. She soon asked, "What happened to the bandicoot that was supposedly going to be Cortex's general?"

Brio replied, "He escaped, and jumped out the window, and plummeted towards the ocean."

The female soon closed her eyes, then said, "Don't worry, Dr. Brio, he's alive, but not on the mainland, but somewhere else."

She was right, for as dawn was breaking, the bandicoot crawled out on the beach, then lied down, as the sun began to rise.

A small floating shadow near him, as if checking to see if he is okay.

Meanwhile, at the mainland as morning was starting to come along, two green skinned people were meditating. One person was a small elderly man with a long beard, a log tied on top of his head, wooden blocks for sandals, a long beard, green tunic, and an orange sash, and holding a stick. The other one is a teenage girl, who was the same height as Jack, who wore the same as the elderly man, but was wearing white pants. While the man's eyes were open, the girl's eyes were close, but their back is turned while Jak and his ottsel turned friend came into the hut quietly.

But as the ottsel took a step, the elderly man turned towards them, who was Samos, since his voice was sounded cranky, said, "What in green tarnation do you two want!?" The ottsel stammers, as Samos soon said, "Don't tell me," Samos soon stopped floating, and so did the girl, as Samos continued, "Instead of heeding my wisdom, the two of you went mucking around in the only place I told you not to go," he looks at the location from his window, and said, "Misty Island."

The ottsel soon said, "That's right, and then we-"

"And Daxter," Samos said, interrupting the former boy, whose name is Daxter, as he continued, " You finally took a much-needed bath," he soon then later made a devious tone and moved his fingers a bit, as he continued in a malicious tone, "But in a bathtub filled with Dark Eco."

Daxter pointed at Samos, and asked, "Look old man, are you gonna keep yappin, or you or you pupil gonna help me out of this mess?"

"I'm gonna keep yappin, because in my professional opinion, the change is an improvement," Samos replied, causing Daxter to growl at him, then Samos soon said, "And besides, neither me, nor my apprentice couldn't help you if we wanted to."

"WHAT!?" Daxter exclaims.

Samos soon said, "There's only one person who has studied Dark Eco long enough to have a chance at returning you to your previous form," he soon flies up, and said, "Gol Acheron, the Sage." Samos looks ahead, and said, "But he lives far to the north, far, far to the north. Nobody has spoken to him in ages." He soon said, while doing so, landed back down, "We would teleport you there, but we can't do that either," he soon looks at his teleporter gate, "None of the three sages, or their apprentices, that maintain the other teleporter gates have seen fit to turn their ends on for quite a while." Samos paused, then continued, "The only other way north is by foot through the Fire Canyon, but it's volcanic soil is hot enough to melt Precursor metal, you can't just walk through it."

"But you could fly over it," said another girl, who had light purple skin wearing small pink shirt, purple pants, red arm braces, a purple collar, blue sandals, and goggles, as she continued, "If you had a Zoomer equipped with a Heat Shield." The girl moved her hand, as she continued, "I just happen to be working on such a thing at this very moment." She walks forth the others, while Daxter poses at the girl, she passes him and ignores him, while she continued, "All I need is twenty Power Cells to give enough energy to withstand the canyon's heat," she soon looks at Samos, and asked, "Isn't that right, Daddy?"

Samos replied, "Yes Keira, it might work."

"But even with the Power Cells, it might not be enough," said another voice, who turned out to be Samos's apprentice, as she continued, "I have been studying on something that is been recently discovered, which are these Power Gems," the apprentice soon showed some clear, diamond like gems to the others, while she continued, "But even with them, I don't know how to activate the power, for neither me nor Keira could unlock their power within them, but when I do, ten Power Gems could enhance the Zoomer's Heat Shield, which might work," she looks at Samos, and asked, "Can I be right, master?"

"Well, Leaf, it could enhance it," Samos replied, he paused, then asked, "But even when we find a way to unlock the power, where are a boy, and a half," he was also whacked Daxter on the head, which annoyed the ottsel, while continue asking, "Going to get ten Power Gems, and twenty Power Cells?"

Keira replied, "For the power cells, from the villagers, most of them have a Power Cell or two stashed away somewhere." Keira paused, then continued, "And even if they aren't willing to just give them away, greasing their palms with a few Precursor Orbs should do the trick."

Leaf, then said, "And as for the Power Gem, the ones I have, and there is the tribesmen's chieftain from the jungle does as well, but even if we can't just give them away," she soon takes out what looks like and apple, then continued, "What can do the trick could be giving us the delicacy, known as Wumpa Fruit."

Keira then goes to Jak, while she said, "And I bet there even more Power Cells and Power Gems out in the wilds waiting for some brave adventurer to find."

"Well, we've got the 'brave adventurer' at least," Daxter said.

"Brave adventurer?" Samos asked, who soon floated up, and said, "You two couldn't find your way out of the village without training." He was soon upside down, then said, "Before you do anything else," he soon moves out of the warp gate, then continued, "You better go through the warp gat and gets some practice on Geyser Rock."

Daxter soon asked, "Uh, we won't find any more that dark gooey eco stuff, will we?" He then let his arms out, then pointed at Samos, as he said, "Cuz I hate to fall in again, and turn into you!"

Samos stops floating, points at the warp gate, and commanded, "Get in there, before I turn you both into ferns!"

"Good luck you two," Leaf said.

Jak glares at Daxter, then soon jumped into the warp gate, then Daxter stopped, and followed suit.

The start on what can be a very popular, and greatest fanfic crossover, especially since this is my true fanfic crossover, and soon all three heroes will meet next chapter.
