Years ago
A young Sora, Kairi, and Riku were playing in the park. Sora and Riku were fighting with toy swords while Kairi was playing in the sandlot.
Riku managed to disarm Sora and knock him to the ground then pointed his weapon at him.
"You're weak Sora, nothing ever changes." Riku mocked as Sora stood up.
"Shut up! I'll beat you, AAARH!" Sora shouted as he ran toward his friend to attack.
This was in vain however as he merely sidestepped out of the way and tripped him, causing Sora to fall to the dirt while Kairi tried not to giggle.
Riku then held out his hand and Sora took it.
"You'll beat me one day." He said.
"Count on it!" Sora declared
"Hey guys, let's go play on the swings." Kairi said.
"Okay." Sora said prepared to run off until Riku stopped him.
"Hold on, there's other kids on there." he said while pointing.
The trio turned their attention to the swings and saw two girls on them. One had light-brown skin with messy auburn hair; she wore a white shirt with purple stripes and purple shorts with yellow shoes. The second girl had olive skin and short black hair that was in a ponytail; this girl wore green overalls over a light green shirt with blue sandals.
"Maybe we should ask them if we can get on." Sora said as he ran towards the swings.
"Look Mar-Mar, I'm an eagle!" the first one said.
"Cool! Well I'm a twin engine seamax amphibious aircraft!" The one called Mar-Mar said.
The two then laughed until they saw Sora walk up to them.
"Hey, can me and my friends get on after you guys?" he asked.
"Sure, after a couple more swings." the first girl said.
But before they could continue, the two would suddenly flung off the swings by two mean teenage girls.
"Aww how cute. Now beat it, these swings are ours." the brown haired one said, causing the girls to cry.
Riku, seeing this, frowned and decided to take a stand while Kairi followed.
"Hey, you can't do that! Those are our swings!" Riku said.
"And now they're ours. What're you gonna do about it, twerp?" the red-haired one questioned mockingly.
"well...I-I'll...tell my mom," he said while putting his fists on his sides triumphantly.
This response of course made the girls burst out in laughter while he flushed in embarrassment.
"Oh wow. Now that's adorable." the brown haired one said.
"And look at that little sword in his hand!" the red-haired one said as they continued laughing.
Riku just frowned at them while continuing to blush.
"Seriously though, beat it twerps." the brown-haired one said.
Riku.." Sora said.
"Not so fast evildoers!" A mysterious voice said.
The kids then turned in the direction of the voice and saw it belonged to a young girl with blonde hair that was in a ponytail and pale skin; she wore a small jean jacket over her lavender colored shirt and maroon skirt.
"Leave those kids alone!" she declared as she slid down the slide and did a jump kick to attack.
The kids watched in awe at her heroism while Riku looked at her and the blush was now all across his face. The heroism was short-lived when the girls just moved out of the way causing her to fall in the dirt.
The blonde-haired girl got back up again and tried to attack, but yet again, they moved out of the way, this time causing her to fall into the sandlot; however, the girl spat the sand out of her mouth and stood up once again.
"I'm not done yet. I'll never give up, no matter what!" she shouted as she charged again, only to trip over herself and fall, weirding out the girls.
"This is getting weird." the red-haired one said.
"Yeah, we're outta here. Enjoy your swings babies." the brown-haired one said as the two walked off.
The blonde girl then laughed triumphantly and stood then dusted herself off.
"Swings are all yours," she said, starting to walk away.
"Wait! You wanna swing with us?" the auburn girl said, making her stop.
"I-I'd like that." she said.
"I'm Anne by the way. This is Marcy." Anne said while gesturing to the other girl.
"Hiya!" Marcy said.
"And they're...uh."
"I'm Sora!" Sora said while putting his thumb to his chest.
"My name's Kairi, nice to meet you." Kairi said.
"Riku." Riku then said.
"I'm Sasha! Sasha Waybright." she said.
"Nice to meet you Sasha, now let's swing! Last one there's a rotten egg!" Sora said as he ran off.
"Sora, that's not fair!" Kairi said while running after him.
"Hey, wait for us!" Anne yelled as her and Marcy went after them.
Soon after it was just Riku and Sasha who looked at each other then immediately looked away and blushed.
"T-thanks for your help." Riku said nervously.
"Oh, it was nothing." Sasha said.
"Just so you know, I-I would have been able to take them." Riku said.
"Sure you would've." Sasha said lightly punching his shoulder.
"RIKU! Come push me!" Sora shouted.
"We should probably go over there." Riku said.
"Let's go then!" Sasha said as she grabbed his hand and ran to the swings.
From that day forth an unlikely friendship formed between Sora, Kairi, Riku, Anne, Sasha, and Marcy; however, what they had yet to realize was that their story was just beginning.
End
Years later
In his dreams, Sora saw a version of himself that was 2 years older than he was. His friends Kairi and Riku were there as well, but not Anne, Sasha or Marcy, and there were some others like Donald Duck, Goofy, and even Mickey Mouse. He also wielded a strange weapon in the shape of a key that allowed him to fight dark creatures; most notably there was a moment where he saw his friend Kairi get struck down and he had to go save her at the expense of his own life.
Our Sora, now 14 years old, awoke from his bed and noticed his face was stained with tears.
"That dream again." he said while wiping his face and getting up from his bed.
I've been-
I've been having these weird thoughts lately.
Like, is any of this for real, or not?
None of this makes sense to me.
(I've been having the same dream over and over again ever since I turned 14. An unfamiliar world filled with unfamiliar faces and unfamiliar goodbyes, as if I'm experiencing a life that belonged to someone else.)
Sora got dressed in his school clothes while also putting on his red jacket with white sleeves as he thought on this.
(Maybe...there's something beyond the world I'm in, Maybe there's worlds like the ones I've dreamt of. If I could get there then...)
He noticed an envelope on his desk that had Anne's name on it.
"Can't forget this," he said while picking it up.
(I can't get that thought out of my head as I lie on my bed lazily day after day, feeling like I'm falling through the sky.)
He grabbed his blue backpack and rushed down the stairs to greet his mom and get a quick snack before leaving.
"Mornin' mom." Sora said.
"Morning sweetie, are you in a rush?" she asked while washing dishes.
"Trying to get to school early so I give Anne her card." Sora said while gulping down milk.
"Oh yeah it's her birthday right? Tell her I said happy birthday when you see her." she said.
"Alright I will, see ya mom! Love ya!" Sora said as he headed out the door.
Before he closed it his mom turned around and said, "have a great day!" with a warm smile.
Sora put his card into his jacket pocket and mounted his bike then headed off to school.
Saint James School
Sora stood in front of the school while holding onto the card in his pocket as he looked around for Anne.
"Mornin' Sora." a familiar voice said.
He turned and saw his friend Kairi walk up to him.
"Oh hey Kairi." he said.
"You're here early, is there a reason?" she asked.
"Yeah, I wanted to give Anne our card before we went inside," he said.
"Oh her birthday card, I completely spaced out about that." she said while lightly smacking her head.
"I'm sure she won't mind. By the way, where's Riku and Marcy?" Sora said.
"Both at the library. Star athlete's gotta study as well as VP of the student council." Kairi said.
"And where's Sasha?" Sora asked.
"No idea but my guess is she's inside. Look, there goes Anne!" Kairi said while pointing at the bike rack.
Anne, as of today now 13 years old, arrived and took off her bike helmet and locked her bike in place at the rack while eating something until a girl with braids showed up.
"Hey boonchuy, whatcha eatin? A pukebun?" she said while laughing.
"Oh lord, here comes Maggie." Kairi said.
"I'll deal with it." Sora said while walking off towards them.
"It's not a pukebun maggie, it's a canoe bean. A traditional thai snack made with rice and coconut milk." Anne explained.
"My mom made it for me because, it's my birthday~" Anne said.
"Huh. Well happy birthday. Give me that!" Maggie shouted as she attempted to grab her food.
"Get your own Thai mom!" Anne shouted while trying to get it back.
As the two were fighting, Sora came up in time to split them apart.
"Knock it off maggie!" Sora said.
"Well if it isn't goody two shoes. Why don't you mind your own business sometimes?" Maggie said as she yonked Anne's snack away.
"I don't like people who bully my friends and it's Anne's birthday so give it back." Sora said while glaring.
"Or what hotshot? You gonna keep on with your goody goody ideals to make me back down, or are gonna drop the nice guy act and throw a punch already?" Maggie mocked while getting in his face.
"Hey margo." said a familiar voice with a guitar riff in the background.
That familiar person was none other than Sasha.
"Leave them alone. Also nice guitar solo Vince." she said, gesturing to the guy in the stands behind her who gave a shout of approval.
"Oh yeah, or else what?" Maggie said.
"Or else you can forget about coming to my awesome house party next week. It'll be REALLY sad when the whole class is enjoying the pool, without you." Sasha threatened with a smile.
"Aw geez Sash I was just playin'. Here." Maggie said as she gave back Anne's snack and walked away angrily.
"Thanks dude." Anne said.
"Yeah, thanks Sash." Sora said.
"No worries, you just gotta speak their language. But never mind that, Happy birthday girl!" Sasha said as the two did a dance until the bell rang.
"Ugh, buzz kill." Sasha said.
"We should probably get inside." Sora said.
"Yeah, yeah let's go." Sasha said while walking off.
Before Anne left Sora gave her the envelope.
"Happy Birthday, mom says that too." he said.
"Aww thanks." Anne said while giving him a small hug which he returned.
Later in class.
"Alright class today I'm gonna teach you how to solve for X. now it's very…" the teacher said.
Sora unfortunately drowned him out as he was falling asleep from the lecture causing him to start having those dreams again. This time he saw himself fighting Riku with that same key weapon. This caused him to sweat once it got to that part where Kairi got struck down again causing him to scream out, "NO!" in front of the whole class getting their attention.
Everyone including Kairi looked at him weirdly while he just sat in silence.
"Is there a problem mr. Hikari?" the teacher asked.
"Uh...no, can I go to the bathroom?" Sora asked.
The teacher gave him a head nod and Sora left the room while Kairi looked at him perplexed and concerned.
In the bathroom Sora splashed some water on his face then looked at himself in the mirror.
"*sigh* way to keep it together Sora." he said to himself.
He dried off his hands and as he was exiting the bathroom he saw Anne and Sasha running in the hall. They stopped by the nurses office and started talking, he kept the door open slightly so he could overhear what they were saying.
"Yo sash, sickroom's over here!" Anne said.
"*sigh* forget the sickroom, forget school. Let's get outta here and celebrate your birthday in style." Sasha said.
"Oof, skip school? I don't know Sash-"
"Anne, this is your 13th birthday. You only get one of these, so let's make it the best birthday in the history of birthdays." Sasha said while grabbing Anne's shoulder.
"Well...alright. I gotta be home by 6:00 though, my parents are throwing me a big party and they really want me to be there." Anne said.
"Right right, you got it. Now let's get this thing started!" Sasha said.
The two then started walking away as Sora slid against the door, mulling over his options.
"This could be my chance to get a clear head and think this stuff over, but then again, I don't want to skip school, Kairi might get mad at me. I should head back." he said to himself.
"And do what, have those dreams again?" he still said to himself, now with a puppet hand.
"Don't say that hand. I just don't want to get in trouble." Sora said back to his hand.
"C'mon pal, what're gonna do? This is your chance to relax for once." his other hand now said.
This caused Sora to think and then decide his answer.
Before Anne and Sasha were out the school exit, Sora managed to catch up to them.
"Wait up guys!" he said.
"Oh geez, are you gonna turn us in Sora? Cause if you are-"
"I want to come with you guys." he said while interrupting Sash and making the two surprised.
"Huh?" they both said.
"I said I want to come with you guys." Sora repeated.
"Okay so you didn't hear me the first time, so I'll say it again, "huh?"" Sasha said while walking up to him.
"Okay so I heard you two talking, by the way sorry for eavesdropping, and you were right. It's Anne's 13th birthday, let's make it the best one." Sora said.
"Really?" Anne questioned.
"Yeah, forget school let's have fun!." Sora said.
Sasha looked at him suspiciously, making him nervous until she said, "look at you! So goody two shoes does have a bad boy streak after all. I knew you had it in ya."
"Heh, yeah I guess." Sora said while rubbing his neck.
"Alright then, let's go have some fun!" Sasha declared.
We see our trio leave school on their bikes then head to the arcade where Anne and Sasha play a dancing game while Sora watches while playing on his phone. Anne sat down to rest while Sasha kicked the machine to get more coins causing Anne to become a little nervous which Sora noticed. They then make their way to an alley where Sasha spray paints her name on the wall while Sora and Anne look around nervously until she gives the canister to them; Anne sprays a little then gets jumpy when she hears a police siren causing Sora to jump too.
They then get two shopping carts and start racing them down the road, nearly running over people in the process making Sora duck down in his cart.
Finally, the three stop at a bakery where they drink smoothies at a table while wearing sunglasses.
"So that's what a unicorn tastes like, corn syrup." Anne said.
"Delicious." Sora said.
Anne suddenly got a buzz from her phone, she checked it and saw there was a text from her mom asking where she was and she saw the time was 5:45.
"Oh shoot! It's almost 6:00 o'clock!" Anne exclaimed.
"Wait what?!" Sora exclaimed while checking his phone.
He also saw the time was almost 6:00 with a text from Kairi and his mom also asking where he was, making him horrified.
"Aw no! I gotta get home!" Sora said while standing up.
"Yeah me too! Sorry dude, we gotta!" Anne said, also standing up.
"Family party right? LAME. Let me guess, a clown with balloon animals?" Sasha questioned, making Anne blush.
"Hey, this is serious. Her parents worked hard for this party." Sora.
"And I know it's not the coolest, but this is important to them." Anne said.
"Mmhmm." Sasha said while checking her phone where she got a text from Marcy.
"Oh my gosh, Marcy said she found the perfect gift for you downtown." she said while showing them a picture of a music box with frog designs on a shelf.
"Ha! A frog music box for the frog lover. I wonder if those gems are real." she continued.
"Come on you two, let's keep this party train rolling, choo-choo!" she said while raising their hands in the air.
"Sorry dude, you don't understand. I really gotta go." Anne said while walking away.
"Yeah me too, sorry Sash." Sora said, also walking.
This caused Sasha to get frustrated.
"Oh I understand Anne. you're both good little kids who gotta go home to their mommy and daddy. Come on guys, hang out with the friends that love you." Sasha said.
"And we would love nothing more than to do that but-"
"Sora, Anne, this isn't cute anymore. We're meeting up with Marcy right now. END. OF DISCUSSION." she said while narrowing her eyes, making her friends' eyes widen.
"I guess it's okay if I'm a little late." Anne said.
"What?! But Anne-"
"Sora." Sasha said while staring daggers into him making him sigh and put his face in his hand.
"Fine...I'll text Riku and Kairi to meet us there," he said.
"Boom! I knew you guys would change your minds." Sasha said while exiting the cafe with the two.
"Heh heh, yeah." Sora said while looking downcast and texting his two other friends.
Downtown
The six friends arrived at the thrift store where the box was located. Anne went inside to get it while the others stayed outside.
"So you skipped school to hang out with Anne and Sash?" Kairi said, a little agitated.
"Yes?" Sora said, cautiously.
"I can't believe you sometimes." Kairi said while frowning at him.
"Hey, he wanted to go with us princess." Sasha said.
"Stop calling me that!" Kairi said.
"Well stop acting like one!" Sasha said back.
"Make me!" Kairi said while getting Sasha's face angrily.
"Shh! Hey guys!" Riku said as he pointed at Anne near where the box was, getting their attention back.
Anne grabbed the box off the shelf then looked outside where Sasha gave two thumbs up. She then put the box in her backpack and exited the store.
The group then made their way to the old playground where they first met with the box in tow. Anne sat on the bench with Sora behind her, Kairi stood next to Marcy, and Rkiu stood next to Sasha.
"Let's get this over with, I don't want to be out here anymore than I'm supposed to be." Kairi said while rubbing her arm and looking around nervously.
"Ditto." Sora said.
"Alright Anne, open it." Riku said.
Anne cautiously opened the box and suddenly inside the box a big blast of energy emerged causing everyone to cover their eyes.
"What's going on?!" Kairi exclaimed.
"I don't know!" Anne screamed.
Then a white flash began to engulf them causing them to scream out.
"AAAAHAA!" Sora screamed
"AAAAAAGH!" Riku shouted
"AAAAAAAA!" Kairi screamed
Somewhere
Sora awoke and saw he was in some sort of black void where only his head and eyes were present as well as his hand.
(where am I?) he questioned in his head.
He saw people in front of him who reminded him of people he knew from home. He then turned and saw a hooded figure with red and black clothes fighting against an unidentified old man who was wielding a large, key-shaped weapon.
He reached out for him and the figure did the same as he turned towards him.
"It's you." the figure said as their hands nearly touched.
Sora's eyes widened as he looked at the figure whose face was still obscured by his hood, because he felt some sort of connection to him.
The dream soon ended and he woke with a start and a large gasp.
"What the heck?!" Sora exclaimed.
"You're awake! Thank goodness!" Anne said while hugging him.
He removed himself and saw she was covered in mud as well as him
"Anne, what happened?!" Sora asked.
"I don't know, one second we're at the park the next we're here." Anne asked.
"What do you-" Sora was about to say.
He stood up and looked at the large flying insects overhead as well as large plants and everything else.
"Anne, where are we?" Sora asked while walking forward a bit.
"Not California anymore, that's for sure." she answered.

Author's note: it sucks how much Disney has been treating this show cause it deserves all your attention and more, and it also sucks that it took "True Colors" for people to finally start talking about it. I attempt to rectify this by making this crossover; like I said in Chapter five of shield hero Sora's gonna show up just not now and not the way you expected.
It's gonna focus on a different version of the characters which is why I've decided to give them different voices; I was thinking Ry Mckeand or Zach Aguilar for Sora, Brittany Lauda for Kairi, and Riku I'm still trying to figure out, but I'm leaning towards David Matragna.
Next chapter's probably gonna be a short one as it focuses on Anne and Sora trying to survive and him gaining the keyblade like in the first game, (i.e Heartless are gonna show up). The chapter after that is finally gonna be the first episode where they meet the Plantars.
Hope you guys like this and keep reading, see you soon!
