"Why are you doing this?" Bella asked as she stormed into my office the next day. Apparently I had managed to piss her off even further during one of the meetings.
"What?"
"Why are you acting so strangely?" she asked, "Why are you trying to piss me off purposely?"
Huh!
"I'm not doing anything abnormally," I said, "You're seriously getting on my nerves."
"I am getting on your nerves?" she said, "Really? Your wife humiliated me in front of your family, you're pissing me off, and I am the one getting on your nerves! Wow!" she said with disbelief.
"This is getting out of hand now," I said, "You know what? I think the only reason I'm facing these issue is because I gave in to my fucking hormones! I should have thought twice before getting involved with you! I should have realized you're going to make a big deal out of this!"
"Hormones? Really?" she shook her head with disbelief, "Is this the best you could come up with?"
"You're really annoying me now!" I said, "Just tell me one thing. When is the last time you have seen me in a serious, committed relationship? If that's something I've wanted, I wouldn't have married Tanya! I married her because I got everything I had ever wanted with that... Money, power and most importantly, my freedom!"
"I don't have any fucking idea about why you're doing this," she said.
"Doing what?" I said.
"I know you're lying..." she said, "You said you loved me!"
"And?" I asked, "You're not the only one to whom I've said this."
"You're lying..." she said.
"You don't believe me? Do you want to ask Tanya? Ask her! I told her I loved her back in High school!"
"You know what?" she stared at me in disbelief, "I give up!"
"Huh! So you weren't even serious about her, eh?" Tanya got up from behind the couch once she left.
"Oh, what are you doing here?" I feigned surprise.
I needed to get Bella out of the picture at any cost before taking any major step!
There was no way I was going to allow these fucking Denalis to harm her in any way!
I was very clear about one thing - Bella was not going to pay for any of my mistakes!
I was sure it's not going to take me too long!
I knew Tanya was stupid, so why not take advantage of that?
I mean, why not?
