January 17, 2013, 11 Months after the events of Stone Ocean
A man was seen getting into a taxi in front of the Toronto Airport. As the taxi pulls away from the lot and drives away from airport grounds, we see the man in the back of the taxi, with multiple suitcases at his disposal. A man that looks like he's nearing his 30s and of Japanese/American descent, with blue eyes and hair made into a pompadour style similar to that of Elvis Presley or the 1980s school delinquent style and two small curved spikes of hair at the back of his head. The man was wearing a formal blue vest that extends to his thighs with a white undershirt underneath, black jeans and leather shoes. The vest has a few badges that signify that he's a police officer, a gold ornaments on the left of his collar in the shape of an anchor, and on the right and left shoulders are a peace sign and a heart respectively. We recognise the man as Josuke Higashikata, and he now has business to do in the grand city of Toronto.
"So, where to?" The driver asked.
"Just drop me off at the Toronto Hotel. I already booked a reservation." Josuke says.
"Alright then." The driver smiles. "So, where are you from? That isn't standard uniform here?"
"Oh, I'm from Japan, from a small town called Morioh." Josuke says.
"Well, that explains the hair." The driver says.
"Listen punk, I don't take kindly to people who insult my hair. No matter who it is, I won't tolerate it." Josuke says, slightly annoyed.
"Jeez, calm down man, I was just saying." The driver tensed up a bit. "And I take it that you don't wear it for the looks, huh?"
"Yeah, it's personal." Josuke says.
"So, Morioh, eh? Like the Morioh disappearances of the 1990s?" The driver asked. "Have you heard about those?"
"Yeah, those disappearances, I know them l too well." Josuke said. "I've actually had a hand in ending them."
"Oh really, eh? Who was the culprit?" The driver asked.
"A serial killer named Yoshikage Kira. That bastard's burned into my mind." Josuke says. "The guy kills women and takes their hands for trophies or something. The guy says he want's a quiet life, but the fact he actively did those things contradicts his want in life."
"Hmph, yeah. Sounds like one sick bastard." Tje driver said.
The taxi drove past the ruins of a building, seemingly charred by an explosion. This caught Josuke's eye.
"Whoa. What happened here?" Josuke asked.
"Oh, that? One of the many many terrible events caused by The Acceleration. Time moved so fast that an oil tanker lost control and crashed here." The driver explains. "Which reminds me, what was your experience of The Acceleration?"
"Well, it was… terrifying, even for someone like me." Josuke says. "The event didn't do much to me, but reading the news articles, and seeing the Sun and Moon go fast is scary."
"I hear you, man. A lot of the cities are going to build monuments to remember those who lost their lives to The Acceleration." The driver says.
"Morioh has already finished their monuments. Luckily for a small town like mine, only 6 of the 700 were killed." Josuke says.
"Others can't really say the same, man. In Toronto alone, there were 13,000 reported casualities." The driver said.
"Oh, jeez. Man, that's messed up." Josuke says.
"Even after all these months, people are still arguing about the cause of The Acceleration." The driver said. "What do you think happened?"
"I have my theories, you have yours. But how can you even explain time itself moving?" Josuke asked.
"I don't know man, it hurts my head thinking about it." The driver said. "We're lucky the Speedwagon Foundation took action and funded a lot of the repairs."
"My family is tied to the Speedwagon Foundation, actually. My father, Joseph Joestar, is actually funding it." Josuke says.
"Joseph Joestar? From Joestar Realty?" The driver asked. "Isn't he like 90 by now?"
"Yeah, but I come from an odd family." Josuke says.
"Anyways, man. Your English is good. You're from Japan, right? How are you this fluent?" The driver asked.
"I have my ways." Josuke says.
The taxi slows to a halt in front of a big hotel in the downtown area of the city.
"Well, we're here, that will be $9.50." The driver says.
"Thank's for the ride." Josuke says as he pays the fee. "You're real fun to talk to."
"I get that a lot. Anyways, have a good trip." The driver smiled.
As Josuke took his bags out of the taxi, he looked at the hotel and sighed. The taxi closes and leaves.
'Of course, I know fully well how The Acceleration happened.' Josuke sighed. 'When Jotaro returned to Japan with his daughter, Jolyne, they told us about what Enrico Pucci's Stand had ascended to. I would definitely not want to meet it face to face, let alone let it activate. Luckily, the only one who truly knows how to lift Stands to such heights is Jotaro.'
Josuke begins to walk to the entrance, when suddenly, the guy bumps into someone, causing him to drop his suitcases, opening it and letting his belongings drop on the floor. It was a young boy, probably 15 years of age. He had short blond comb hair and was wearing a black hoodie, a necklace with wooden beads, blue jeans, black sneakers and a red cap. We know this as Dwayne Junior, a participant in the Ridonculous Race, but he's grown taller by now, probably 150 cm in height.
"Oh man, sorry." Junior says.
"Don't sweat it, it happens all the time." Josuke says as he goes down to pick up his suitcases. "Just be less clumsy in the future."
"Alright. Do you need any help?" Junior asked.
"No, no need." Josuke says.
"Okay then, I'll see you around." Junior says.
But before Junior can leave, he notices Josuke's movement suddenly becomes more erratic, almost getting desperate.
"Ah shit! Where did my engagement ring go?!" Josuke scampered around. "This is just great. Man, Ayana will not be happy about this!"
Junior looks around to try and help the guy find the ring, when suddenly, he hears a faint crack. He looks down and sees the ring that Josuke was looking for, but the diamond that was attached to it fell off.
'Ah crap.' Junior thought. 'Maybe I can repair it.'
Junior bent down and tried to reattach the diamond, but his hand slipped and he dropped the diamond, and it fell into a sewer drain.
'Shit, shit shit!' Junior thought. 'Man, I have no choice.'
Seeing that there's no other option, Junior held the ring in front of him. When a white and light blue spectral arm appears from him. The ghastly hand touches the place where the diamond goes, and in a tiny light, a new diamond appears instantly.
'Is that the same shape? Eh, the diamond is small enough, he wouldn't notice.' Junior thought. "Hey, I found your ring."
"Oh, thanks, kid." Josuke turns to Junior and receives the ring.
"Alright, I'm off." Junior says. "Bye dude."
"Hey, kid." Josuke calls out.
"Yes?" Junior asked.
"Be careful out there. There is probably danger in the last place you look." Josuke says.
"Hmm, I guess. What does that have to do with anything?" Junior asked.
"Oh, I'm just saying." Josuke says as he turns back to his suitcases.
"Ookay?" Junior was confused by the statement.
Junior turns to walk somewhere, when suddenly, another taxi pulls up on the curb. When the door opens, he recognises the two as Carrie and Devin.
"Oh, hey guys, what are you doing here?" Junior asked.
"Junior? Wow, you've grown tall since the race." Carrie says.
"Yeah, we haven't seen each other in like… 2 years I think." Devin says.
"Yeah, I know. So, are you having a vacation here?" Junior asked.
"Wait, you didn't get the news," Carrie asked. "Don is making a reunion as a way to ease out stress caused by The Acceleration."
"Oh, right. The Acceleration." Junior says. "Just wait, I have to call my dad about this." He then takes out his phone and contacts his father."
"Alright, we'll see you inside." Devin says.
"Okay." Junior says.
As Junior tries to call his dad, Josuke looks at him suspiciously, holding the ring in his hand.
"He thinks I didn't notice it. That kid. He's an early Stand user." Josuke said to himself. "The diamond seems to be created by him, where did the real one go?"
The ring glows a gold aura, and from the sewer drain, the diamond flies back to him as he catches it.
"Ew! The sewer drain?!" Josuke exclaimed. "Man, he's this clumsy?! Guy managed to lose a diamond into a sewer drain."
Josuke takes out the created diamond to replace it with the real one. But he notices something.
"Wait, this diamond…" Josuke states as he uses his Stand to sense the structure of a diamond. "It's not a diamond, but it's something I've never seen before. But it still is chemically acurate to diamonds..."
As Josuke fixes his ring, he turns to Junior as he continues his call.
"This kid… he has good intentions, seeing he didn't try to scam me and take the diamond, but he doesn't seem to know the notion of a Stand." Josuke says. "Sooner or later, he's gonna bump into dangerous men."
As Junior moves around in his call, Josuke sees something that makes his eyes go wide.
"No way… is that?" Josuke was surprised by what he saw.
He then sees what it was clearly, a star birthmark on the back of Junior's neck, the mark of those who bear Joestar blood.
