Hello people, this story hopefully will be a good one! I'll try to be consistent with updates etc etc.

NOTE: I do not own Percy Jackson etc etc I just created the story line.

Another quick thing, the idea of having Percy be a spartan is not in any way original, it's just a civilization I like, (unfortunately I do not know the authors name who did have the idea originally, but here's your shoutout)

Anyways...

Chapter 1 - The Birth of the Demigod

Earth was silent. Silent and lifeless, no lively souls roamed the earth, until chaos felt lonely. The creation of the human happened on that fatefully lonely day. Humans populated the earth, they lived along side the animals, plants, mountains and oceans, and most of all, each other. Chaos had grown old, her children had children of their own, and they had children of their own. Her family line was long, and that pleased her, she fell into a deep slumbering sleep. The primordials rules for some time, before their children overthrew them; the titans roamed the planet, causing havoc among humans. Then one day the very first 'god' was born. Soon enough there were lots of gods, enough to overthrow the titans, and banish them from the living world. The gods decided up the world with each other, soon the populated a council that we know today. The Olympian council.

4000 B.C.

Humans roamed the earth peacefully, the titans were gone; and because of that the earth no longer suffered. However one god, Poseidon was no where to be found. The Greek gods looked and looked, but alas, they couldn't find him anywhere across the earth. Little did they know he was in fact hiding himself with a mortal female. A child was born and in fear Poseidon fled from the mother. The mother, whose name was Danee. Which in modern translation means, 'Mother of Perseus'. Ironically Danee chose the name of Perseus for the name of the first ever demigod.

3983 B.C.

The first demigod in human history had noticed strange things. Creatures moving in the shadows, things observing him. At the age of 16 Poseidon hadn't forgotten about his son. And so on his sons 17th birthday, he visited.

(Note: Story language modified to English as Percy would be speaking some other language)

(Percy's POV)

I had a feeling today was going to be a good day. I woke up and remembered that I could finally leave the academy due to it being a special occasion, my birthday. I could finally see my mother after two years of not visiting, I couldn't wait. It was my last year in the academy, then I would become something called a 'ανιχνευτής'. After getting dressed in the traditional Hoplite, leaving my helmet off of course. There was never a need to put a helmet on unless in battle, even then I don't particularly like to battle with a helmet on. I grabbed my sword, which was given to me by my father. It was a beautiful slick bronze colour, which at night almost seemed to glow. Strapping my sword sheath to my hip and putting the sword in it, i was ready to go. I reported to my barracks commanding officer, who gave me permission to go see the commander. Moving throughout the academy I saw everyday soldiers training for combat. Men wielding giant pikes, spears, swords and shields flew around in a whirl of strikes. The relaxing sound of steel hitting metal filled my ears, after all I'd been through at the academy, it was still a place I liked to call 'home'. I reached the majors office, or to be exact table that was located in the inner wall near the main exit.

"Commander Levndeski!" I said in a confident manner. Meanwhile I raised my hand up with three fingers raised outwards. The thumb, pointer finger and the middle finger. The other fingers were curled back against the palm of my hand. It was, in short terms, a sign of respect.

"Perseus, how are you on this fine day, at ease." He said.

"I'm good sir, thank you for asking sir. How are you sir?" I wanted to roll my eyes, the only thing I couldn't stand about the military is how formal you had to be all the time. It was not my style at all.

"I'm quite fine, thank you Perseus. What can I help you with?" He asked me.

"I'm wishing to go visit my mother as it's my birthday, sir." I replied.

"Of course, it's your day off." He replied. Giddy with excitement I started heading towards the door before I heard the commander call me back.

"Perseus, one last thing." He said.

I gave him a questioning look.

"I've decided, considering you're one of my best pupils. To graduate you early from the academy. Congratulations are in order. You are hereby assigned to duties in the southern region of Sparta. Also Perseus, try not to blow anymore fountains up?" He told me why he was chuckling. The news shocked me, I'd been here at the academy for as long as I could remember. Graduating early was a very rare feat, and I was proud to have achieved such an honor. The fountains was another story, ever since I was young I had an affinity with the water. It was just a place that I felt safe. I never told anyone not even my mother, but when I was young before I went to the academy, I fell and cut myself why falling, I ended up falling in the water and the cut healed why I sat in the water. However the fountains always just blew up, I tried to maintain distance from those suckers.

"Thank you sir. This is an honor I will never forget, I hope to make you proud. I'll also work on not blowing up anymore fountains." I told him. He nodded and waved me off, that was my signal I walked out of the academy and I would not be returning.

--Line break--

(Percy's POV) - 3983 B.C.

I was totally excited to get back home. I hadn't seen my mother is longer than I could've fathomed, I hoped she was doing alright, inside of the academy you weren't allowed to exchange letters or any personal belongings. This was to ensure your independence or something like that. As I traveled back to inner Sparta I passed through some vineyards it was the grapes time of season. The beautiful lush colours of purple and green sprung out at me in all different directions. Deciding that I needed something nice to eat I altered my course and headed towards the farmers house. I could also get some more my mother as well. Just because the academy didn't allow us to receive objects from family, didn't mean they didn't pay us. Upon arrival I knocked on his door, and a stout old man opened up. He had a kindly face and he wore a farmers straw hat.

I addressed the man saying, "I noticed you had very fine looking grapes growing my good sir. I was wondering how much for a bunch of them?"

He looked thoughtful then said, "I assume you are visiting home from the academy, take a few bunches for free young man. May the gods bless your soul."

I smiled at him then said, "May the gods bless you for your generosity, now and forevermore." We shook hands and he closed the door. I walked down towards the most vivid bunch of grapes. I took the bunches and continued on my way home. I took a moment to truly appreciate my surroundings, the birds chirping throughout the vineyards, the sound of the crickets buzzing all around me. The soft dirt spreading between my sandales. I sighed taking in that fresh air that was being blown by a soft breeze. I allowed myself to relax for the first time in five years. That turned out to be quite the mistake, I heard an unearthly growl from behind me, I whirled around wondering what in hades could be making such a noise. What I saw scared me worse than the instructors at the academy. A beast as large as a barn storage house was stalking towards me. Instinctively I wiped out my trusty sword, and stood ready to defend myself. The beast stopped and analyzed me, as I did the same to it. Then suddenly it lunged i stood frozen for a second then my instincts came into play. I dived out of the way, and hit the ground rolling. Jumping up I took a moment to thank whatever god or goddess that was looking over me for saving me. I decided to just stay in the defensive side, there was no need to go on offense for no reason, especially against a threat that wasn't from this world. It lunged again but this time I was ready I side stepped and stuck my sword straight into its neck. Instead of blood pouring from the creatures neck, it simply disintegrated into a fine golden dust; which was promptly carried off by the cool breeze.

I stood frozen to the spot, in shock. What in hades' name was that thing? I simply didn't know. I took a deep breath to calm myself. I had overcome that thing, of course I had; I was a spartan. A spartan ανιχνευτής I would t be shaken by this. I carried in home, and after another hour of walking I made it to the outer walls of the city. Sparta liked grand with its towering walls and fearsome paintings adoring the outer walls. I made my way to the main gate, with just a single look the guards knew where I came from and my reason for visit and the gates opened. I walked into the bustling city life, the market was open. Merchants from across the seas came here to trade their goods. Stall owners yelled at passers by to buy their goods because they were 'cheaper'. I'd almost forgotten what it felt like to be In the market place. Nothing much caught my eyes until I walked by an antiques shop, there was a glittering shield on the table. I approached the table looking at the shield it said, 'τετρακόσιες δραχμές' four hundred drachme. I whistled at the price, I had the money but surely it wasn't worth it. Suddenly a man walked in next to me something about him caught my eye. Perhaps it was the smell of the sea breeze that rolled off of him, or his beard that reminded me so much of the scrap of my fathers face. I knew that couldn't be, because they all said my father fled Sparta. Surely he'd died, just liked all the others who flee. Well at least that's what everyone says.

The old man approached me I say him out of the corner of my eye then he suddenly said, "something caught your eye son?" There was a fatherly warmth in his voice that I couldn't quite place.

"Yeah looking at this shield, not sure if I would like to purchase it or not; seriously considering it though." I relied nonchalantly.

"This shield has quite the history, it's said that Poseidon's son Triton used this shield in his quest to save Atlantis from Oceanus." He told me.

Poseidon. Every time I heard that name something jumped inside me, as if it was trying to say something important. I had no idea what it was, perhaps I never would, or never could. I'm also unsure why that story made me want the shield even more.

"I suppose I'll buy it, it has a good history; and I can only hope to live up to the deeds preformed with this shield." I told the old man. I paire him and continued on my way home. A shield strapped to my back and a perfect sword on my hip. I felt confident. I was passed the market now near the city center. The only thing inside of the city center was the cemetery and government buildings where the elders where. I passed through their quickly, after all I had no business there. That put me in the housing district, where my mother lived and where I use to live. I navigated through the streets and housing complexes until I stopped in front of my old house. It seemed, well the same as it always had been. I took a deep breath for some reason I was really nervous about seeing my mom again. How would we react? How would see look at me? I decided there was no ping in pushing my fears aside and I knocked on the door. All my fears were gone in an instant when. man I semi-recognized opened it.

"Hello", the man's said, "come in you are expected." Strange, but I entered the house. My mother came running up to me and pulled me into a bear hug.

"Mo-om I can't breathe", I chocked out. She let go of me tears in her eyes.

"Oh Perseus, I can't believe it! It's been so so long." She said. I smiled at her giving her another hug, this one much less agressive.

I looked around for the man who opened the door he was nowhere to be seen.

"Hey mom, who was the man who opened the door just now?", I asked her.

She gave me a strange look and then said, "there was no man here Perseus.. are you feeling alright?"

Woah I thought big surprise there. There was definitely a man who opened the door for me just now.

"Yeah probably just tired, it is night time after all; I should really get to bed.", I told my mother. I gave her another hug and then went to my old bedroom. I laid down my helmet which I'd been carrying for the entire day. I undid my sword sheath and laid the newly bought shield next to it. Sighing I laid down in my bed, and I instantly feel asleep.

*Perseus' dream*

I was walking through the vineyards in the outskirts of Sparta. Looking at the lovely lush colours of the grapes on the vines. The night was alive all around me, owls hooting insects creating a symphony all around me. I saw the farmers house in the distance, the one I visited just today. The same stout old man walked around tending to his duties, when suddenly the dream shifted. The man was lying dead with a spear through his abdomen, blood pooling around his stomach and staining his white linen clothing. I started backing away from the old man's carcass, what the hell was going on here?

I turned and ran towards Sparta I needed to get the guards help, someone had murdered an innocent old man. I was nearly at Sparta when I saw something that terrified me. My home was ablaze with light. Fire tore across the straw roofs, screams lit the night, unlike the insects these were unharmonious and terrible to the ear. Soldiers from the city star of Thebes were flooding the walls of Sparta, wrecking havoc on the place I called home. The took women as their prizes and slaughtered all the men the children suffered the same fate. As I ran through the city to the city center I saw soldiers from Thebes executing the elders, destroying the filter of Sparta, making sure we were to never be remembered. Suddenly I heard a voice shout my name,

"Perseus please help!"

I turned towards the voice and ran, I have no idea who it was and how I could hear it over the chaos around me. I ended up stopping in front of my mothers house, which was ablaze with fire covering the roof. I walked inside and saw my mother on the ground with the prince of Thebes towering over her.

She cried out again, "Perseus please help me!"

I was frozen in place I couldn't move as I watched the prince of Thebes kill my mother right in front of me.

*The dream ends*

I woke with a start, I heard the warning bells ringing across the city, signaling an attack. I quickly forgot my dream, it was simply a silly dream. I turned towards my sword sheath and shield; I strolled the sword sheath to my hip and drew my sword. Meanwhile I grabbed my shield I glanced at my helmet debating internally If I would really wear it. I decided against bringing it, I simply wouldn't need it. I was ready to protect my home.

That's the end of the first chapter! I'm hoping to have the second one out soon, looking forward to writing it.

Please excuse any grammar errors or spelling mistakes I was writing this on a mobile device! Plus I was in a car all day long.

I'm looking forward to writing the second chapter of this series, until then Au revoir, bonne journée!
